“Marijuana hangovers” are a real thing. People really underestimate the psychedelic affects of THC. It’s difficult in some ways, inspiring in others. Memory/focus for me has suffered immensely. Hopefully it’ll pass soon as I stopped a couple of days ago. Edit: saw an earlier comment - “Blonde Lady” you did awesome. It’s not always easy for a big mind to condense ideas into a limited amount of time. Appreciate the free info and content.
Is your memory coming back? I had a weed-induced psychosis about 5 years ago, smoked only a couple times since then. Most terrifying time of my life. It lasted about a month, and now I live in fear of developing schizophrenia, but I’m getting by day by day and fighting to keep my mental health.. well, healthy.
@@TheRareCriticalThinker yes, it’s coming back! I wasn’t a years-long consumer, but took high doses daily for a month or so. I had a low-level psychosis, feeling the ground “rumble” beneath my feet, losing touch with the world, mild paranoia and was very forgetful. It gave my creativity such a boost though! On your worry - I think schizophrenia has a large genetic component - do you have relatives with the disorder? Also, if it’s been 5 years you’re hopefully moving out of the common age group where people develop it. And, while unlikely, it is a treatable and manageable condition. Take care of yourself.
@@TheRareCriticalThinker So first off, "developing schizophrenia" is a very loose thing to say. Having a cannabis induced psychosis does not mean that you are schizophrenic and it also doesn't mean that you will develop schizophrenia. If you have been off of weed for 5 years and you aren't schizophrenic, chances are you aren't going to develop schizophrenia... It would've manifested itself by now, especially after your psychosis. With that being said I think you know that it would be a bad idea to take any psychoactive substances, an easy solution
@@fucuszullanti7877 thanks for your post. I’ve just read several studies where they’ve followed people who went through an episode of CIP and 50% of them developed schizophrenia within the next 15 years or so. But the study also didn’t account for how many people stopped smoking or continued use, so the numbers are probably lower.

Great video very informative/I have a question I experience fast heart rate and panic attacks and intense anxiety after I smoke weed for the first time now I did not hear or see or smell anything neither did I have any delusions but since then as a result from this terrifying experience from this bad Marijuana I have always been anxious and wonder whether this have affected my brain chemistry, also because I did not know the potency of the substance am kind of worried whether it was laced and am wondering how can I move forward because it's been 11 years.
I quit weed because it gave me psycosis that got me sectioned. I'm addicted to vaping nicotine that my dad pays for because he is also addicted. I now buy myself an item of expensive clothing every time I go a year sober like an Off-white hoodie because I like designer clothes.
@M J And this is very true i use to be normal and outgoing and after smoking weed it gave me anxiety depression and many more bs and it made me very introverted and weird and i clearly did not return to normal its been 10 yrs i still feel messed up
I’m kinda the opposite of the above comments, I used to not be able to talk to people, I had very bad social anxiety due to trauma as a kid, I’m 21 I started 2 years ago and I also have adhd, I started cuz I thought it would help with that but eventually I started showing early signs of psychosis, currently trying to quit now but it’s very hard trying to stay grounded in reality sometimes. It just sucks that it helped me out for so long and it’s now starting to backfire but I think it’s for the best if I quit now and take care of myself
@@barti-wo6vi Yeah, you definitely need to quit. Same thing happened to me, in my mind it was the only thing "helping me deal" with things I otherwise couldn't, but in reality it was slowly but surely ruining things in my life, and eventually it caused paranoia, social withdrawal, eventually psychotic tendencies. Weed as an addiction is a slow burn, and it can be especially dangerous to certain types of people (you and me and others). I know how people who try to impress their religious/spiritual beliefs on you sound on the internet, but I'd like to say anyway that what healed me from my addiction and subsequent psychotic signs, was Jesus Christ. I was agnostic for a long time, but I needed to be saved, and I was. Been growing in faith and understanding ever since, and I pray you turn to him as well. You can turn things around, in your life and your mind. God bless friend, sincerely.
Amateur advice: when/If you ever feel like you’re having a psychotic episode, say so-to whoever you are with, Then TELL them to leave. Being left alone on your terms, is better than being taken away with someone else. Also: You are comfortable Having A Psychotic episode Also,Also: found it easiest to coexist with unconscious intrusive thoughts.
I love smoking, ingesting THC, CBD. Better then anti depressants any day of the week. Im not addicted, the ritual has become a habit, easily replaceable, I take breaks every year.
“Days”..”Weeks” for high to fade away? Way to scare people away from trying something that MAY help. Nobody ever has been high for weeks or days on their first try. Also, you’re forgetting one of its most effective treatments: it helps people with epilepsy/seizures. “Helps with anxiety for most people?” More like the opposite. Some. Way more people get anxiety when they get “high”. Maybe many might take a small hit to take some anxiety edge off - that is often, but no. Anxiety isn’t a big ACTUAL reason people use. Maybe it’s in the doctors note in many medical only states lol😅 Unfortunately quite a bit of wrong information here. Besides that, the overall point: psychosis correlation and/or acceleration is a definite thing that needs further research. Definitely recommend NOT using if someone has any psychotic/schizophrenic problems. I am VERY far from a PRO-MaryJ advocate (besides legalization). I just think there is a lot of misinformation here. And I’m from UofMichigan too! #goblue

What?!?! What he said makes no sense.
He is saying if you have a psychotic disorder prior to cannabis use you are more likely to experience that disorder full blow such as schizophrenia. Also saying the earlier you start using cannabis the more likely you are to develop these disorders or experience an unstable state of mind. There's lots of research to prove what he's saying. Bless
I had weed psychosis at 37. Spent a month in psych hospital.

Early psychosis? As in, early permanent psychosis?
