I remember being 35+ weeks and I would be squatting reading a chest tube, and I would stay down foreverrr pretending I was really interested in reading it. In reality, i couldn’t figure out how to get back up 😂.

Congratulations! One of my coworkers who recently found out she was pregnant went on "modified duty" since her pregnancy is high risk- she never takes patients but does things like paperwork, auditing charts, etc.

How long have you been a nurse? Have you ever worked in a clinic setting?

I definitely refuse contact patients such as droplet/airborne precautions. I work in a cardiac ICU so lifting patients can't be avoided lol. I just get help and have really understanding co-workers 😄

Hey! Great video! I'm also a nurse in an ICU and actually am going back to work from my maternity leave next week. I was fortunate to be able to take a year off (Canada). Just wanted to offer some words of encouragement! It can be really hard some times to work until the end, but it's doable as long as everything is going well. I worked up until I was 38 weeks at which point I just couldn't anymore. A belly support band definitely made it more manageable. I wish you all the best!

I know this is a weird question, but do patients try and touch your stomach? If so, how do you handle it?

Lol I'm really overweight and a CNA, I could probably handle a pregnancy easily if I lost weight

Well you're sure lucky, 8months pregnant, 12hr shifts on PCU, still get all the infected patients besides TB patients, and those who can't even get out bed on their own. Make sure you get a belly support of some kind cause you're back is going to start killing you.

I forgot to mention TED hose!! They are a must, my legs swelled with my first and I couldn’t see my ankles.
