For me I just bring a simple mountain bike multi tool and leave all the other tools in the truck. My nukeproof scout usually doesn't let me down so if it did I could walk it back a few miles if I had to
I recently grabbed the Dakine Hot Laps pack that I strap to my seat to take the weight of a spare tube, CO2, inflator, and tire lever tool out of my pack. I also really like the Wolf Tooth Components Pack Pliers which are slimmer than the Pedros levers, hold 2 spare links, and also serve as chain link pliers. Nice video with good info for those starting out and looking for some Christmas gift ideas ;)
Sick! When doing research I actually took all of those items you mentioned into consideration! I really liked the wolf tooth pliers but figured I still may need to carry a regular chain tool so that’s why I decided to go with the p20 multitool and keep the tire levers separate. I do prefer the ergonomics of the wolf tooth one, and you could easily use it as a shop tool as well! I love hearing what combinations of tools people decide to go with because there are literally infinite combinations. So figured this would be a fun video for people to share their trail tool solutions in the comments! And you’re right, these tools or any trail tools would make a sweet Christmas gift! 🤘 Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! 😃
@@NickandKatieMTB oh yeah, I also carry a Crankbrothers F15 multi tool, pump, pressure gauge, sealant, Stan's dart, and some other light tools in my hip pack. Guess I forgot to mention the Dakine pack isn't everything haha
Been wanting to get the tubolito for a while but like you said hard to spend $30 for something I might never need when I already have multiple regular tubes
I'm doing my research for a compact yet efficient mtb tool kit and I'm getting to similar conclusions. Regarding the Lezyne pocket drive, do you feel like the high volume version makes a big difference in pumping time when compared to the slimmer high pressure one?
It's hard to say without testing them both side by side. Would make for some good content so maybe I could purchase the other and do an experiment video on it in the future. For what it's worth I was blown away by how compact the high volume one is and I was blown away by how fast it fills up a tire. Not sure how much longer the HP would take in comparison. I wish I had more of an answer! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the input! Agreed. Only when we’re really going deep do we bother to carry everything!

Exactly haha maybe if I was the one carrying it I would buy the Tubolito! I’m more of a weight wienie than Katie is 😂
