Aw dear.....I feel for you, I really do. I love the fact that you tell the truth about 'the treatment'. Most of all I love the ending music, 'Lacrimosa' is my favourite music of all time. I know where you are coming from. My new 100% Irish wool cable knit Fisherman sweater was a 'Men's XL' so warm and almost as long as a tunic. .....I wore it in December on a walkabout at a National Swamp. Somehow I slipped. Slipped into the oozy muck. I had to drive home encased in smelly mud. You know the rest. Washer, dryer......devastating loss. Eternal regret. Lacrimosa.
Mine shrunk pretty bad. I used an entire bottle of kirkland conditioner and it worked. My wool sweater looked like that from banana republic. It was so thick.
If it’s pure wool ..This definitely works Put a tablespoon of olive oil into very HOT water. Put jumper in Leave overnight DON’T RINSE … Block (stretch it , put heavy books etc on it) it and dry flat always works on very shrunken jumpers…. TRUST ME ….
How much water to oil ratio? I'm trying to unshrink a dress I crocheted that's 100% merino wool. It's in the tub with hair conditioner but if it doesn't work, I'm trying the olive oil
I am so sorry for your loss! I have two 100% wool sweaters that share your same experience. I’m going to keep trying because I just can’t let them go😩😩. Thanks for sharing your experience🫶🏽💕
It should work after a few times of doing it. Don’t give up if you haven’t already given it away. It’s like hair treatment, we can’t expect best results with only one application 😅
You did a couple of things wrong. From what I have been reading, you should have used a tablespoon or so of conditionner alone. (Not fabric softener). You are not supposed to rinse out the sweater. You leave it to dry with the conditionner still relaxing the fabric... and continue to gently stretch during the drying period.
Oh my days this has just happened to a cashmere sweater we took out of the washing machine. My wife is in tears. Now it's been soaked for a few hours in the hair conditioner. I don't think it's going to work.... 😂
@@melinda4065I left it soaking for 2 days! We had nothing to lose having low expectations this would actually work. I was able to stretch it a bit, it got bigger by maybe 15% but it was already shrunken by probably 40-45% so let's put it this way: there is going to be a happy child somewhere wearing a cashmere sweater very soon 😅
It works ---- 1/3 cup of conditionner soak in lukewarm water... soak it for 10 minutes after... strech it back to original size .. and let dry... repeat if necessairy 👍mine was fully shrink
