I can still see a crack on the screen. Oh, wait, that's my phone
Same lol
Well, you convinced me not to replace the glass on my phone
Exactly
Lol i was thinking the same thing…although, unfortunately i may have to proceed given the cost difference…lol, well at least i know now tht im missing a BUNCH of little things like that thread stuff and others
@@Powerfulpackage i thought the same thing but i bought a glass replacement only since the digitizer with the glass all ready to go was still about $150-200 and the glass alone was only about $15 and it come with every tool you need, even the cutting wire and adhesive strips so you dont have to glue it like it in these videos and works incredibley!! I didnt know what the "thread" was at first either until i did some research but you also definitely DONT have to un assemble the whole phone and back like in this video.!
Can you tell me on how to make it work? @@jessicacole3548
The hardest part here is getting that razer blade in the correct spot, I've spoiled at least 40 edge screens so far trying to learn that.
This might help you out. Never use metal tools around any screen! But especially don't use metal tools around OLED displays that's a must. OLED is so delicate it will snap under the smallest amount of pressure. Plastic picks are equally as good as razorblades but limit the risk of damage. You really have to handle it so gently I emphasize this greatly.
I could literally grab an amoled display without glass right now and if I gave a little too much force with my finger it would break under the pressure
The goal is 100 percent function w/ no defects no matter how long it takes to do it perfectly. People mess up all the time so I get it I broke more Galaxy S5's then I fixed but once I realized the method I never unlearned the suffering when I broke an S5 so I try to help people out!
@@eazysmokes3743 Hi man. What kind of material is required to do this ?He is using Propyl Alcohol ? I have a kit of small blade between 10mm and 0.01mm
The only video on youtube makes sense on replacing the screen not oled 😊😊 good job my friend
The screen is OLED tho
Is there a particular tool kit you can purchase to do this at home?
Here 😁 www.ebay.com/str/expresscelldepot
This probably doesn't come out as smooth (looks a little wavy) as using a oca lamination machine, correct? I bought an s10 hoping to be able to replace the glass, but maybe it's not such a good idea.
@JerryMobile
Are there any Drawbacks of changing/Replacing Screen with Aftermarket one...?
1. Will it Impact Touch Sensitivity ?
2. Will it reduce Clarity?
3. Will it be less reliable/ more Fragile than Oem/Orginal Screen?
4. Any other drawbacks / side effects?
I may not be Jerry Mobile but I know quite a bit about glass only replacements so
1. if you are careful no
2. only if you buy a cheap replacement
3. only if its cheap
4. not really
hope I could help
What is the solution you use to unglue de seal components and the screen lens? U use as a little bottle.
Isopropyl alcohol 99% (95% or more)
Are the wrinkles you can see under the light from the damage done whilst removing the front?
Very hard work, great grandfather, I've been waiting for for a while I like loca glue, I like better than OCA in Edge screens Thank you very hard grandfather good luck Waiting for not10plus Loca and UV
What was the reason for removing the screen from the frame before removing the glass ?
Would the heating up of the glass damage the internal components if you don't strip it down first ?
It is so the OCA doesn't go to the bottom of the bezel under the display and start damaging electronic components
The reason is that the glass is curved and it is impossible to separate the glass and display with wire if the glass and frame is together. Components would likly sirvive the heat and the loca glue but you cannot separate display from the frame without taking matherboard out and other components
guys remove the glass all the time without seperating from frame.
Which temperature are you using to take off screen from frame ? Should i use blade 0.02 mm in it ?
Other videos suggest using a blow dryer and a credit card or plastic object instead of steel to unmount it
what kind of liquid u use in 1:58 ?
anyway thanks for video
Should be just alcohol 99% I think
@@Zx14rrrrrrrrrrr exactly
Hi there what liquid do you use after clean oca glue by isopropyl? Because the lcd looks smooth.
Yes 100% home solution for sure
WOW. PERFECT this is the video i have been looking for.great job👍
pls can i use this mothod on s20fe i bought the glass without oca cause it makes the camera cut out looks bigger after installing but now am wondering if the front camera will still be clear after i install it using loca. pls help🙏
Can you answer this question ASAP? I broke the protective glass on my s10+ but the touchscreen is completely fine and the device functions as normal. I found a replacement on amazon for $30 and am wondering if that is all I need for the repair. Is the digitizer in need of replacement as well? Thank you so much!!
Not if the touch works but it may break when disassembling it i would recommend just the whole new screen and frame like what most places sell it will be less of a struggle and less likely to break anything else, I’m not a professional just my opinion
@@jackgolden1774 thanks dude!
@@jackgolden1774 coming from a professional, you gave the right answer! Don't mess with the glass only process, it is only headache and half the time you will have issues afterwards after you waste 6 hours attempting glass only process
Sir samsung s10 ki original touch glass price kya hai plz sir
the main, and huge issue with this method is, that there is always leftover uncured loca on the edges, which will dissolve the cured loca, creating airpockets over time. depending on the emount of uncured loca, this can be 2 days to 2 weeks, but it will happen, and it will run through the edge of the screen. doublesided tape should be used to fix the lcd in place and then remove it and clear all the excess loca
What liquid was used on the glue to soften it? Thanks
same question ;D

Is it necessary to remove the screen from the frame?
no
Sure wish u could fix mine
What is the little hand held device called that you use to get rid of all the left over glue type stuff from the back of the screen? Looks like it spinning metal rod..
Did you use 90°C in machine at the time that you used isopropyl alcohol ? What is that plastic blade ? How much mm has it ?
Glass only replacement? So what is the screen made out of then as loads of videos say screen yet the repaire shows the back

Hi Jerry, does it work for samsung Note 9 as well ?
I saw an equipment in around minute 2: 00 - 3:00, what does it use for ?

Very clean and nice job. Well done 👏
Except for the wavy LCD underneath. Guarantee if I handed those results to a customer they would reject it right away.
This is nikki anderson I been married for nineteen years
Holy those waves a side affect of using loca vs oca?
If You use OCA will be a bit better, but always refubrish wouldn't be 100% perfect. But waves will be smaller in a few days
Will fingerprint sensor work afterwards?
Of course it works ☺️
Hi, what is the tool you use at 6:50?
LCD Touch Screen LOCA OCA Electric Glue Remover Machine Tool For Mobile Phone TH
He did almost everything perfect... except gluing the display and glass
At the end you can see dents or bubbles in the phone is there any way you can get it out
Yes. But Jerry is always convenient with the actual truth. That would spoil his 100% at home video title. You'll need a vacuum chamber, also a press. You'll need to do the work in a dust free chamber and that kind of setup is expensive, so not a 100% at home video.
Hi sir shop kha par ha ....

@@JerryMobilePL perfect! many thanks for you reply ;-) have a nice day
Tell me how they could've just made the aluminum frame smaller to shrink those bezels been living with a smartphone chin for years.
I recommend watching Mkbhd’s video on smartphone bezels, it goes into more depth than I can explain. Basically, the chin is there because there is a ribbon connector that needs to connect the motherboard and the display in order for it to work. That requires space, as the ribbon connector is always placed and one end of the display. Because a chin looks nicer than a forehead, companies generally choose the bottom of the display as the place for the ribbon connector. When the chin get’s smaller, companies are basically just pushing the connector closer and closer to the edge of the display. In apple’s case, they actually folded the display underneath itself in order to get rid of a chin. Apple worked on that process for years, and no other company has yet to build a reliable and consistent enough assembly line to do that. Next in line is samsung, who are doing that as we speak. Hope that answers you’re query!
Pixel 5 has all the side and edge bezels are equal, a very nice phone
Hi can i ask, how thick wire are you using? 0.04mm or more?
0.03 or 0.028

What's do you recommend is the best way and timing to cleanup the LOCA glue that seeps into the front cam holes to have clear lens? I see you've used "mystery liquid" (Denatured alcohol?) and q-tips.
Thanks for the very informational vid!
It wouldn't be easy.. if the front camera isn's clear, in 90% You have to replace it. If glue goes inside it's over. But if glue only a bit goes on the lens, You can clean it with isopropanol alcohol 😉

do i need to buy a digitizer if only the front glass is broken on s10 plus? repair shop said it will cost $380 to repair screen when I called for quote.. they said if ordered the front glass replacement myself and brought it in they'd put it on for $25, i just need to know if i need digitizer or not or just the front glass? any help would be much appreciated
You just need to change the front glass, some might not change it if there is a little damage to the digitizer
Coming from a professional, it is best if you just replace the entire frame assembly and don't do a glass-only process. See my other responses on this video for the exact reasons. You will thank me. 🥰

Do you do repairs like these? Or is there a kit I can buy? I need a new glass screen for my S10+ but all repair shops near me want around $300 (when the glass screen itself is only like $20)
You can try but as a hobby. I mean, give it a shot, but let it be plan B, it’s way harder than it looks
Repair shops will just put a new screen on that's why it's 300. This process can be hell.
The CORRECT PART costs them around $250. The rest is about an hour labour.
Yes, you CAN buy a glass-only lens but the results are VERY poor with wavy LCD underneath. You will pay for $20 on parts and usually around 4 hours in labour and receive substandard results as seen in the video. Please just do the repair right the first time using the correct parts and you will thank me and the others who warn people!
