It's like "You're the best dad ever"

Watching this in my mid-thirties, I feel ever more grateful that my English teacher in junior high school laid a really solid foundation of pronunciation and intonations at the very beginning of my long journey of learning English. It really set me and my fellow classmates on a steep learning curve. What's beautiful about these basics is that once you learn them, it becomes your muscle memory and you don't lose them easily. Vocabulary may peak and ebb, but what's shown in this video will stay with you and benefit you for years and years to come.

Thank you Emma.. I'm an Arab English univ. teacher and a big fan 😊😊.. and my passion falls in this very area of language.. phonetics and pronunciation.. You've just summarized how I trained myself be native-like in English.. what I feel I lack is a bit of fluency because I've never been to an English-speaking country and never practiced the language in a real situation! It's been only confined to self-effort.. watching movies.. imitating how native speakers speak the language and paying attention to how it sounds!!

This is, maybe, the most valuable lesson about pronunciation I've watched on youtube, mostly by the first tip. We need complete awareness about what our lips, throat, tongue, and jaw are doing. It's by far different than other languages. Most of us take for granted that our native language muscle movements can fit those of other languages. That's absolutely wrong.
