Welcome to the UK 🥳🥳🥳
Hope you and your boys are really happy here. The newer the house the smaller they tend to be but it looks like a a lovely house and on the plus side it’ll be cheaper to heat and furnish. As the only adult in the property you’re eligible for a 25% discount on your council tax so contact your local council, you might be able to apply on line but if not they’ll send you a form.
I appreciate the advice, and I will contact them tomorrow.
This video filled me with joy! What a beautiful family, so warm and happy! Wishing you an amazing stay here in the UK ❤❤
You are so kind, thank you so much
Congratulations on the move and your new house. Everything moves slowly around here. When we moved houses, it took 2 months for BT to install our internet. We had told them we are moving to this house a month before we actually moved so that makes it 3 months. I think there is a problem with understaffing everywhere but you do get used to it after sometime.
The council tax is what helps the councils pay for kids education, bin collection, keeping estates clean and all that type of stuff. It's a bit high but hey, just like the NI, it's the price we pay for "free" schooling and healthcare
Congrats on getting your new apartment! It looks really nice and cozy. God has truly been good to you! Love to see how the kids are adjusting 🙏🏽
Thank you and the kids are enjoying the UK
All the best for you and your boys in your new home 🏡 You have such a wonderful positive energy!
You’re so sweet, thank you
You should be able to get a tyre changed in the UK while you wait, we always have, once they even sent the tyre in a taxi from another site as they didn't have the particular tyre. If we have repeats in the car done we get a courtesy car. I got my passport renewed in 1 week and renewal of driving licence is equally as easy and fast. So it's not all slow, you need to know the places and the ways.
I’m so happy for you and your sons. Wishing you the very best.
Thank you so much! We're excited for this next chapter.
Don't forget to book into Doctors and dentists. It's hard enough to even see a Doctor here now.!! Welcome to UK.
Congratulations on moving into your new flat. It's lovely. Fantastic back grden for you and the boys.
Thank you so much 😊
Congrats! Such positive energy even in the UK winter. The washer driers are one machine in the UK unlike in the USA which is separated. Dont forget to visit the differenr regions in the UK.
Yeah, I heard that washer-dryer combo takes forever to dry clothes.
Hi
First time watcher here.
Fyi you can apply for a 25% sibgle oerson discount off your council tax bill if it's just you and your boys in your property. Under 18s are disregarded.
TV license fee is compkex but in a nutshell if you watch any live tv broadcasts from bbc, itv, channrl or channel 5 or watch bbc iplayer for catch up then you need a tv license.
Unfortunately the rental market in the UK is competitive abd therefore costs are high. Properties in the UK are much smaller than the US. I believe 800ft v 2100 ft on average.
Anyway enjoy the UK.
Thanks you 😘
Welcome to our uk. I am British and a londoner too. When it comes to our properties here in uk, the agents asks for paper work like passport etc from foreigners who are buying or renting properties here in uk. As a British they won't request that for I am entitled for properties. You just deal with mortgages, how much you earn, health issues etc as a British.
Enough is as good as a feast! I'm sure you'll make it so cute, for you and the boys❤😊
Thank you 😊
Ohhh just found your channel can't wait to watch your journey, watching from NZ
Thanks for watching and welcome 😊
I'm new also, in Texas usa
The process all depends on the individual landlords in the UK. However, if you are not a British citizen, or Irish citizen, you will jump through hoops. If you don't have the right to live and work in the UK, it is the landlord who will be prosecuted as well as you.
I’m afraid in uk rental property is extremely high , I hope you find the transition from America to Uk comfortable, any move wherever with or without children is extremely hard.America is very good at customer service, uk is still behind on this although getting better as long as uk citizens complain to get the best we deserve, hope you enjoy your time here ❤
Thank you😊
I am British saying to you Yeah right! Stop giving wrong information about our uk. Uk has the best customer service ever it has 96.2% the 4th best customer service in the world and 🇺🇸 has 95.6 the 9th best customer service in the world
Yeah right! I am British saying to you London and New York are main cities it's crystal clear if one tries to rent in New York usa 🇺🇸 or here in London 🇬🇧 uk the prices are high, you can't expect London property prices to be low where there is central london like in Chelsea central london, Mayfair, St John's to be cheap yet celebrities live there. New York in usa 🇺🇸 is expensive too.
New subscriber, love your attitude, I hope you and the boys flourish here 😍 I'm a Grandma to two beautiful mixed race children and work in an education environment it seems your here alone so if you need any advice navigating your way around our systems please feel free to ask, though it seems your learning fast. Can't wait to see how you fill up your new home, it's lovely and cost enjoy your sanctuary x
Cosy not cost 😃
I’ll definitely reach out if I have questions , thanks again 😍
welcome to the uk im sure you will like it 😃
Thank you
We dont have much room here, thats why our houses are quite small conpared to America
🌺You should have let movers take the mattress upstairs, why not that would have been so helpful!!
I shoulda let them take those beds upstairs 😩
All the best to u all ❤
Thanks 😊
Hi there I just came across your channel. So far liking what I’m seeing, love your cozy place. Everything disappointment is for a reason. I too was thinking of moving to the UK, was thinking of transitioning for some time now. I might need to make the big move.
Thank you so much for watching, Would you mind telling me where you are moving from?
@ you’re very wlcm, in in Pennsylvania.
Yayyy for the fridge because I cannot live without one 😅. The apartment is nice. Congratulations
I couldn't survive without a fridge😆😆😆
The kitchen might miss things if you lease/rent. If you buy its more likely to have everything expected. B & M is a good well priced store for lighting, they also do garden stuff and snacks.
“What is this”; a shower curtain….you find them in older un-renovated buildings. Most people have glass doors in showers now.
Wow, something you actually liked! Most of the start was very complacent.
Just saw the b&m bag in the kitchen; oh you already know about it 😂
We don’t have a social security number but we do have a national insurance; you get them when you’re a teenager (if i remember correctly). But it’s like what your taxes go through; when you’re born here anyway.
Its not everything and everywhere thats slow…check if a place has Wifi before you go. Also research as much as possible. Also there’s so much migration, illegal immigration as well, we’re a tiny country….so things will be slower. Also good luck if you ever need to see a doctor; takes ages!
B&M's one of my favorite UK stores. Thanks for the tips!
@ you’re gunna love Aldi here too and Lidl is great for the bakery section ❤️
The fridge freezer looks decent
Welcome to the UK!!🥰
Thanks 😊
Remember your can't to Do Everything at once. Things will gradually come into Place. x
Hi Patience and boys welcome to England I'm afraid over here we have to wait for everything but once you get sorted out your be ok. I'm new to your channel I like your little house hope you will be very happy living here wishing you all all the best.😊xx
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel 😍😍😍
I'm so happy for you and your family😃 .
Love and light to you all ✨️🔥✨️
Thank you so much!!
Patience it's about normal in UK around Xmas & Easter time for property transfers to 'freeze' It is absolutely infurianting, but alas it happens. You bemoan the size of the house, but it will be super cosy in winter. I think you got a bargain for £1000 a month, even with a scraggy (but do-able) back garden, (yard!). LOL!
Yeah the Garden is my favorite.
Beautiful table
Thank you
We do a social number, but it's called a national insurance number, and yes, do tax on tv as well it will all work out in time .
I was issued a national insurance # but I was told is for government used only 💁
@stylewithpatience Yes, that's what for work and other government use.
Aren't you supposed to wait a few hours before plugging the fridge... or risk of explosion 🤔
congratulatıons and bestwıshes dear...
Thank you
Get used to what you think of as small. Your accent is a mixture at times. It sounds like hints of a Dutch accent? Congrats on moving to Blighty and into your new house. I hope you and your family will be very happy and blessed
Thank you
that is not an apartment that is a house
One thing that I dislike with some Americans who move here is why complaining about how tiny the houses are ? Did you figure that England was bigger than America ?
We are pretty comfortable living in our space. Don't forget that people come and go if they don't like it. 😮
She'll quickly appreciate how small the house is when she sees her first heating bill 😊
I'm sorry I've knew your channel. Why did you move to the uk?
How are you able to make it there? What are the requirements to be an expat?
I There is no washer and dryer in there and no dishwasher notice
What do you do that you can support yourself? There are other people that like myself that like to know. But you gotta have money because you can't go over there and just get a job.I don't think
I moved to the uk for work. You must be a citizen of the United States in order to qualify for the position . You can find jobs on USAJob.gov
Please don’t go around tipping people, I know you mean well, but asking for their bank details and tipping them like that could get them in trouble. They are paid to deliver stuff.
I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know.
That’s not true
Your ass just jealous you did not get any. Leave her. Melanated people like to pay their way and show love. Sister let Yah guide you not pagans.❤❤
@@LittleMiss2100 exactly it isn’t true isn’t it people always give others tips
@@Hannah-sg4srNot in the UK they don’t. The original commenter is right they could get fired for taking money. It’s different in the food industry you can tip then for example leaving extra money in a restaurant or putting money in a tip jar in a cafe of pub etc or including a tip in an Uber eats order but giving people money for doing a job they’re already paid to do isn’t something we do here.
I hear an accent, which doesn't sound like a native speaker. So she's an immigrant who lived in the USA going to Europe. Will the Europeans see her as African or American.
It doesn’t matter how they see me what matters is how I view myself, and I will always be an African woman.
Funny how, because you're from the USA and refer yourself as a expat... where as someone say from India is considered a immigrant.
I am fully aware that I am an immigrant in England however, I use the word “expat’ for click bit.
It doesn't matter .. it's the same when British go abroad and live.. they consider themselves expats living abroad... but anyone co ing to the uk is a immigrant! Just that entitlement rubbish don't you think?
So UK or ENGLAND, UK
England, UK
@@stylewithpatience it would be nice to have known that in the first place. There are 4 countries within the UK.
I'd give your children the bigger bedroom as there's 2 of them, and you have smaller room!
I think they'll be fine with their rooms😂😂😂😂
😂
Yes,they sure will be fine. stylewithpatience
You have such a positive sunny attitude! You will settle right in. Welcome to the UK.
