Love the vids man. Found you the other day and have been been watching and learning a ton. One thing I can't figure out is when switching to the singing portion in these videos are you saying "scat"? I googled poetry terms and read up on quatrain and couplet to make it easier to follow along and visualize, but all I can find for scat is the nonsensical jazz singing. Lol. Went through a list of like 200 poetry/singing terms and couldn't find anything that sounded like I could have misconstrued it for scat. Lol. Hope you see this bro. Keep dropping the gems! 💎🙏
Yeah, that's the same definition I'm using - it's the rap analogy of the nonsensical jazz singing; simulating words just so you can construct the skeleton which works with the instrumental.

But just getting a good rhythm and figuring out what kind of rhyme scheme you're feeling on the beat. As you said, the skeleton. Thanks man! Appreciate you taking the time to explain that. Will be trying that more for sure. I guess I slightly do that in my head where it feels like the beat will give me a word to end on, but I feel doing it outloud and for the whole section I'm working on will help with so many more ideas.

I am so dumb, Im sure i watch this before, but i geuss i was brain dead but simply put you talking about that technique "of rhymes dictating your flow" seem to help me out immensely. I been writing raps a lot. but ehh its like i did know i need to rhyme on my bars and stuff but i never be forcing it but now i somewhat do but not like the way---------------its like you saying it in that way "rhymes dicitating your flow" help because the way i been doing it is to go about it natrually like whatever comes out and what i feel i write and a very good beat is needed for me to write good songs. but i always don't be rhyming tho. but now im rhyming more now but rhymes are basic but more now. because i now still go about it natarully or say intutively and but now i try to think based off each bar of what word could possibly rhymes then go about forming a sentence with that word that rhymes--------so before i just try to focus more message i geuss. but when i try to focus on rhymes more its not that it difficult i just want to be natrual with it, like i never used a rhyme dictionary. anyways from the technique you mention, it kinda help me blend rhyming into my process natrually --------------but let me see, i probably got to excited but let me see if im consistent with this

The production on your vids is of really good quality but the way you format bars is hard to follow
By the format of my bars, you mean the way I place them on the screen? If it's that, Im doing the best I can, not to blame the software, but starting a new line with this is surprisingly weird! How would you like to see me format them?

Man coming from poetry I just write based on imagery and figure the rhyme structure later which I guess you can't do that 🤔
Oh you can def do that. Once you create your sentence based on imagery, then you go ahead and format it so it becomes a bar. This is the cornerstone of one of the approaches we write with here.
Also, writing lyrics is an art form and even though these lessons are meant to give you instructions on how to do it, you absolutely have to tailor it to your own preferences and strengths.
