Birthday story: OP is being spiteful, but at the same time, Dad picking daughter up and not picking up the phone was an a-hole move. Whatever story number was with ex husbands birthday and daughter.
    Firstly, mother said no.
She was following the rules implied. He should have respected that.
Second, it was part of the rules. You’re to follow them.
I’d have said the same thing if roles were reversed. Follow the rules.
Him taking her with out permission, is a great enough reason to know, he’s done this before. It’s a good reason to tell him no.
If the female did this.. I’d probably have suggested calling the cops for kidnapping because that’s what it is either way.
Always stay safe and follow the rules.
What if she wasn’t with him, maybe with a very bad person.. you took her with out telling the mother.
    Not safe at all..
What if the mother knew you’d do this and assumed she was with you.. not call anyone.. but the daughter was actually with a bad person.
Always follow the rules for safety.
The daughter needs to be informed a bit more on why this wasn’t safe and following safety rules is necessary.

That’s exactly what I was thinking.
Doesn’t matter which parent took the daughter. It was unsafe and against the rules.
      You should follow the rules.
Had the daughter been taken by a bad guy instead, but the mother not called because maybe the husband does this all the time, now what. The dad listened and doesn’t have her.
But the father came by after knowing he was told no, took her against the rules and taught the daughter it’s ok to go against the rules if it’s just for a quick good time.
Now the daughter is upset because daddy’s made it fun and it made mommy look bad for following the rules.
Yes the mother could have said yes, but she didn’t.
We didn’t get a back story on how the father and mother truly behaved in the relationship.
For all we know the dad probably goes behind her back all the time to do shyt he wants to do and maybe that’s the reason they divorced.
We can’t assume it is what we think it is.
I mean what person who is sounding this narcissistic would come on and paint themselves looking like the bad guy. They wouldn’t, they stretch the truth, sprinkled with little lies to fit their narrative. Painting themselves the victim.
This story says she follows the rules as you should and the father does not.
Again, I would say the same exact thing if the mother had taken the child but I also hold females at a higher standard because we think differently and should KNOW better. Never teach the child bad behaviors, if the mother did, id be more disgusted with her than I am now, with him. Men do dumb shyt all the time, it’s in their nature, no biggy. But rules are rules.
What if she had called the cops, the cops found him, arrested him, he’d have to go to court to fix the arrest charge but the court would find out why the mother was worried, notice he has partial custody and could possibly lessen his custody time or take it all away. Better to be safe than sorry. It was just his birthday. Nothing special.
Birthdays were only for the first year because babies during a time, weren’t making it past their first birthday and it became a thing. So yeah. Dad =jerk.

For story 3, im struggling to see how OP's the jerk here. She has shared custody of *her* child with the husband. The husband didn’t have legal custody of his daughter that day. He did ask the op if she could go, op said no. But the husband turned around, went behind her back, took the daughter without the op's permission, and went to a party that the op didnt know the location of. Honestly, I'm surprised the op didn't charge her husband with kidnapping. He asked op for permission, op said no and he took the child anyway, on a day he didn't have custody of the child. So, i honestly don't see how OPs the jerk in this story...what the husband did was technically kidnapping his own kid-

But the husband still went behind op's back, took the kid on a day he didn't have *legal custody* of her, and took her to a party, which the mother didn't know about until *she* went to pick up her kid, *and* she didn't know *where* the party was happening. The husband essentially kidnapped his child, and quite a few judges would see it that way. So again, he's lucky op didn't file charges against him, cause I honestly would have if I was in her position-
