When I grew up, my grandfathers and uncles smoked up the whole house, they were hardcore smokers and didn't care whether or not you were okay with it . If you didn't like it you could leave. They also smoked in the car with the windows up. One time one of my uncles came out to visit my mom and she wouldn't let him smoke in her house. He told her that she was being disrespectful and left and never came back again. A few years prior, this same uncle lit up in my dad's new car without asking and dropped an ash on the floor, then laughed that he just christened it. I remember another time in the early 80s when smoking sections started in restaurants, one of my uncles would purposely sit in the non-smoking section and light up. Usually, he would get dirty looks, but no one would say anything except one time when a waitress told him that it was a non-smoking section, and would have to leave. He did, but before getting up he took a long drag and then blew a big load of smoke in her face.
A back draft exhaust vent hooked to a in-line fan with a carbon filter built to your size room. Create negative pressure air in the room that way all the smoke goes through the filter and exhaust to the outside of the house. It’s about 500 bucks to set it up
there is no reason to filter the air that is going outside.... the ONLY reason to use a filter of any type is if you are recirculating some of the air. if it is just venting outside, then no filter needed.
