    This is so much more entertaining than a lot of the parts from today.. they didn't care about their style or anything, they just skated and skated and loved what they were doing. I really like how a lot of the clips are clearly from the same day, just trying trick after trick and just throwing it in there, not caring about style, and they all killed it at this time. Style isn't really everything, but honestly to me these guys had a lot of style, because you can see so much in just the way they skated and not only that but they really believed in their skating and what not.. idk. I just wish I was apart of it somehow, back when skating was just skating and something you really love doing. Someday I want to have a group of real friends and just do what these guys did.

      another cliche "hurrrr muh style hurrrr" post. new skateboarding is leagues above this in style, skill and overall capabilities, everyone knows feeble boomers just dont like change. Dont be a crybaby cause you cant kickflip.

      cappucino108 were not boomers, we're gen x' ers, u millenials are just stuck up snobs, obsessed with ur damn robot style, and clique bullshit, we accepted peoples differences

    • @rebusd
      @rebusd 4 года назад +2

      @@cappucino108 it is illogical to attempt to compare style, skill and overall capabilities between eras in an artistic sport such as skateboarding. You can certainly see obvious development over nearly 30 years, but to cast aspersions on someone's ability or adaptability based upon their romanticism is to broadcast one's ignorance. Good day to you.

    • @rebusd
      @rebusd 4 года назад +3

      Ironically I remember 92 as the year skating went nearly full hip-hop in most circles. It was a dark time for companies; Jeremy Klein, for instance, supplemented his income by working a gamer help desk (guess which system lol). You can see the genesis of modern stye in guys like Mariano, Koston, Howard, whereas a lot of lesser street pros got wiped out by the tech revolution and spat out by the style recovery of 93/94. My point is that in those days, I romanticized about the 80's and how punk things were then. Someday the skaters of 2040 will look back and mock the sensibilities of people like mr. 'ok boomer' over there.

    The legendary Tony Hawk street part.

    • @tomf4087
      @tomf4087 2 года назад +5

      This was at a time when street skating was taking over. For a couple of year vert guys board sale probably dropped dramatically. Street skater board were selling in droves. Hensley, gonz, stranger, etc. Company's were dropping vert guys often having just street guys and the token vert guy. This is why u saw ramp skaters trying to keep relevant in changing times by having street parts. Like hawk, d way, c mckay. Crazy when you think that what we now see as legends probably had low board sales and even may of worried about place on team. Probably why a lot started own companies.

    I remember calling Birdhouse to order a copy as soon as heard this was coming out and the person who answered the phone apologized that this wasn't a "real" video, they were just trying to rush something out asap that had all the team members on it. Probably because every video of that era was being compared to Questionable. Popped it in the VCR as soon as got it and was blown away.
