This Nami skin is a perfect example of where legendary skins shine the most. I really wish we would get more fun concepts like this, but I also understand that Nami is just a very versatile champion. As long as you keep her tail vaguely resembling her base rig she can be any underwater creature, really. I think 1820+ skins get more and more hit or miss, we've seen that with Spirit Blossom Sett, Star Guardian Akali or the recent Soraka skin (not to mention Samira) so Coven Nami is just so refreshing. I do think Syndra got robbed, she would fit perfectly with Evelynn and Morgana plus her fanbase begged for a coven legendary for years. I honestly wish she didn't get this epic at all, now she no longer has a change of getting Coven 1820+ next time they revisit this skin line. Honestly hoping for her ASU at the very least.
This skin is gorgeous! It's a different take on the Coven skins with a Sea Witch instead and I think that's really fun. I've seen a lot of people complaining that she doesn't have the similar color schemes of Morgana and Evelynn but I feel like that's a good thing and it makes her stand out from the other Legendary skins.
I’m more bothered that epic skins (like Syndra and Nilah) have similar color schemes to eve and Morgana. The red magic with the gold and black was originally just a thing for the legendary skins, who are the more powerful witches. They’re great skins but I feel like it’s inconsistent. They don’t have to stick with the same purple that every other epic skin has (Zyra is green and Leblanc is gold) but idk I feel like red and gold should be just legendarys.

Also, I'm also kind of disappointed that Bel'Veth didn't get an Old God skin. The idea of the Leviathan god being Bel'Veth fits perfectly. Wish we would have seen that.
The only thing I want with this incredible skin is for that awesome evil form to last for a few seconds more! It's so cool, I just need to see it more and more!
The only issue I have with the skin is it having only 3 tentacles. In her 'running' animation and her dances, you can see her with 6 or more, and she looks awesome, but then her model itself having only 3 makes her lower half feel kind of empty. I get what you mean about the silhouette thing, but they could have just given her the Ahri treatment, where they're all folded up during movement, and spread out when she's stationary. Idk. I can understand them choosing 3 to match her W and E, but I feel like 5 or 6 would have been just as valid with the coven theme, sort of giving her a pentagram or hexagram motif instead.
Coven should’ve been the summer event with both Nami and Syndra as legendaries! also, Coven Lux would’ve been way better than SF Lux and Coven Akali combined.

I do not play nami, neither I play syndra, but I believe they did the best thing giving nami the legendary. Syndra already had the evil witch esthetic and her standard skin colors reminded somehow of some coven skins, like purple and purple, but nami? This skin gave her new literal model, effects and most of all CHARACTER. And I believe her splash art is absolutely AMAIZING.

I could be wrong but I think that nami's W ability gains damage and healing that scales with ap, but her healing/damage reduction also scales with ap. Meaning that the restriction increases as well according to you ap (which I presume it's Riots way of balancing her W cuz if her reduction limit remained the same while you gained increased ap ratio then her restriction would be almost null and void) ... in theory 😅.
No, after 200ap it becomes positive. So with extremely high AP it becomes one of the highest AP ratios. The amount of AP is not realistic for most games though so we just settle for the little boost from being above 200 AP
I am actually really enjoying the skin when seeing it in play, as a Nami main I am happy. One sad thing about it just the splash....sure Nami looks pretty in it but holy does it have less details than the other legendary coven splashes...or the epics that came this round. They could have done so much more with the splash and it is a huge disappointment when the expectations were that of the Eve and Morg splashes. But they will never change a splash art so I guess crying is for naught
I love the tentacles i think they look aesthetically really cool & i wouldve loved to have seen it at some point 100 percent but i wouldve just loved the dark mermaid fantasy that i thought we were going to get. But thats just me im obsessed with mermaids & witches ❤ none the less i enjoy it

heres the reason why i think nami deserved this skin over syndra, i believe a legendary skin should take a base champ and create something new, take psyops sona, u look at her ultimate skin and she is a musician at the end of the day like in her base design. ith psyops they changed her completely into something new. with coven, as much as i would love legendary syndra, she would still be an evil sorceress like in hewr base design, nami on the other hand, with her lucky go happy personality, making her a dark ocean witch is amazing. did they do a good job? i wouldnt say so, her design generally is lacking, yes they got the whole "evil sharp edges style" clothing but nothing else, on the splash art there is a big focus on her neck and where it looks leike someone took a doll head and replace in with a different doll head. i love the tentacles but besides that the skin lacks somethin.
Syndra deserved legendary. We would have a JG Legendary- Evelynn Support Legendary- Morgana Mid Legendary- Syndra. But now we have 2 supports with a legendary. Maybe they’re wanting to buff morgana and make her more mid lane. Would have been cool to eventually have a full team of matching legendary skins.

One underrated thing about her leviathan ulti is the groaning and bone cracking sounds. it just sells the fantasy so much.
