This the coolest thing the internet has ever done! Thank you so much!
Bro!! Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to this for so long now you tutorials was the only one got me up and running!
You’re the best! I wasn’t able to buy a modded Xbox but I got my beta code and was so sad :( this is great! (:
I have bought xbox couple weeks ago but still trying to get controller + modding the system
Very useful, thank you.
Thanks dude!
thank you.😄😄
i didnt come here for insignia, i came here for the hard drive file with dashboard, thanks lol.
no problem
i need help, i have done all the parts and it says unable to reach xbox live when i press the connect button. any type of help would be appreciated
Does IP and DNS pass?
um insignia says my serial number has already been taken is there a way to generate a new one?
Find the path to the EEPROM and delete the file, then restart xemu.
thnx
i did not get to connect to my host name
i know this vid is old but is this IRC command still good to use? Im trying it with my HexChat right now and its not connecting
Yeah not working for me either
@@-ouv same
hey bro i did everything right but when installing insignia it said something about my bios blocking XBL
Did you use the Complex_4627.bin BIOS file exactly?
@@samicrusader yep. Insignia said to use a modified bios and it fixed my issue.
@@thesilversurfer3602 That works then.
I get the error "DNS check failed. This means your DNS settings are incorrect, or your ISP is hijacking your DNS requests."
Go to the network settings in the dashboard and do a connection test. If the DNS check passes there, your ISP is probably hijacking DNS.
This is usually seen in the US with people using the provided-router from Spectrum (Charter, Time Warner, Adelphia, Bright House, etc...) or in the UK or Spanish-speaking nations in general for some weird reason (I assume the UK government doesn't want people to use other DNS servers to bypass domain blocks I guess).
Insignia uses 46.101.64.175 as their DNS server, hijacking would be just forcing all requests to that server to go to your ISP's DNS server which prevents the Xbox from being able to use Insignia as it needs to redirect the xboxlive.com domains to their own stuff.
You may need to use the insigniaDNS utility in that case: github.com/insignia-live/insigniaDNS
There is a precompiled .exe file in one of the DNS threads on the Discord: insig.uk/discord, otherwise you'll need to install Python from www.python.org/downloads/
If that check in the dashboard doesn't pass though, you should probably try setting your DNS settings manually the first time, setting the first server to "1.1.1.1" and second to "1.0.0.1", doing the test again, then back in the Insignia-Setup program try running Troubleshooting and seeing if that helps.
@@samicrusader I tried again and now the automatic ip settings in the dashboard aren't there anymore, I connected to HexChat and WinSCP but they aren't appearing. I'm not knowledgeable about any of this DNS related stuff.
@@sonc07 hit me up on discord I'll assist: samicrusader#4026
Does doing this in a linux environment differ greatly?
no just get a compatible IRC client (HexChat) works and FTP client (use FileZilla or CrossFTP) and replace the installation instructions for your specific distribution
as it is I run Linux on my main machine but wanted to show on Windows so more people can actually perform the instruction
FatXplorer 3.0 Beta only work on Windows though. If there's a way to make Windows softwares work on Linux, then that's fine i guess.
@@RaptorZX3 That is not needed for xemu.
@@samicrusader I’ll give it a shot, I was wanting to set this up on xemu with the steam deck.
Everything worked as instructed except when I try to launch a multiplayer game. I am trying to play Star Wars Battlefront 2 with all the DLC loaded and it locks up on the multiplayer loading screen. All green checks I am logged into insignia.
Does multiplayer work with another game?
@@samicrusader Yes Counter-Strike and MechAssault.
@@lsk-nf7um It's probably a bug within xemu for Battlefront2 then.
@@samicrusader just to give you a quick update I reset my network and my router and "The Empire has the flag"! Thanks for your help anyways. It's 2005 again and Katrina is barreling down on me and I am playing this damn game to the power goes out. Cheers.
@@lsk-nf7um 🥂
i get an error in winscp 'could not retrieve directory listing. can't open data connection.'
Is there any firewalling that may be affecting your FTP connection?
@@samicrusadernot sure, how do i check?
@@matthewtricarichi7212 you probably dont have one then, try these legacy.downloads.diomtec.com/homebrew/xbins/Console%20Based%20Applications/bios/complex/Debug.Bios.4627.And.Retail.Bios.4627.v1.02.XBOX-COMPLEX.rar and mirror.rqsall.com/file.libxenon.org/xbox-linux/mcpx_1.0.bin
Troubleshooting says all checks passed. Register says failed to connect. Tried every BIOS and MCPX out there and fresh EEPROMs. Forwarded ports, Placed in DMZ, disabled firewalls, ran as Administrator. Different computers, different OSes, different networks. I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones that it doesn't work for.....well, myself and everyone else I know personally. Ironically, our actual Xboxes work just fine on those same networks, using insignia, with those same BIOS files. Good thing we've got boxes with RAM+CPU upgrades at least.
it seems the xemu_ms_dash.qcow2 file link is dead
works fine on my end with AT&T, does your ISP do any fuckery?
connection failed
i passed all of the network test except for the last one it just says failed xbox live is not found not sure if anyone else is having this issue
Check Troubleshooting under the Insignia Setup tool.
i fixed it bro you have to download a modded bios isntead of the 4267 verision

I would not recommend using heavily modified BIOSes with xemu as it can introduce compatibility problems.
@@thesilversurfer3602 what bios did you use?
No matter what network settings I use, the IP addresses will always show nothing but zeroes. You haven’t told us what to do in that situation.
I can't reproduce that happening on any of my devices or on networks available to me. The best I can give is either pulling a newer/older xemu build, deleting. the EEPROM file and let xemu regenerate one with a new hardware address, or reinstall npcap (npcap.com/) or see if theres a difference between wired/wireless when using NAT vs bridged mode.
Also, if you're going by the IP address as you go straight into network settings, you might want to try a connection test, as the IP address may not populate until then: ruclips.net/video/OgSMdWb6kWU/видео.html
I did everything the way mine is set up but I end up getting "Could not open 'xmu.img' : The system cannot find the file speified" I don't know what to do
Put the FULL path to the xmu.img file into the file= part. Replace any backslashes (\) with forwardslashes (/).
I think this is dead, but i need help. I am a playstation gamer but I want to play online with some buddies who have insignia. I am running OpenSuse Tumbleweed Linux and am stuck at CREATE ACCOUNT where I have to enter a subscription code.
You need to sign up at insignia.live to get the subscription code. It's free, but it uses the same protos as OG live
hey that server doesn't work it connects to a ip that ends with 6697 instead of 6667 idk why
same here
HexChat may have started using SSL/TLS by default then, I'll look into this when I'm at a computer.

Hello, my emulator says when I put the: drive_add 0 if=none,id=usbdisk1,file=xmu.img
command, my emulator responds:
Could not open 'xmu.img' : The system cannot find the file speified. And the xmu.img is on the xemu-win-release that I putted on and it's not detecting the file.
Try putting the full path to xmu.img in the file= part
