At the end when you have to fight Ellie I can’t be the only one that was genuinely terrified of her. More then any other fight in the game. Lmao I was sweating so bad
I saw her moving out of the corner of my eye at one point--and she was setting traps. To have been the one doing that for half the game then being on the receiving end? Terrifying and kinda mindblowing. Her shotgun and machete reminded me of classic horror characters like Ash and Jason, her AI is scary smart, and mixed with the red lights backstage all made for a super tense fight. I kinda hate that Abby beat literally the whole Jackson crew in that sequence, but Ellie paid her back overall
@@dlein93 her ai in that scenario learns how you fight with ellie and uses your tactics against you. that's why she's so smart bc its basically like fighting yourself and your maneuvers 😆
@@joonology6044 yes and no. I dont think the ai also copies the guns you use most on ur playthrough mostly just the shotgun and machete and setting traps since Ellie's playstyle is kinda that.
Don't try to downsell how poorly written Abby's character is. Absolutely nobody cares that she's buff. People care that she's boring, and that the story tries to focus more on this character, than on the ACTUAL main character. Abby didn't start off that bad, she was set up fairly well as a dislikable villain that you wanted to see die brutally, but by the second half, it really does feel like she was added to the game just so Neil Druckman had his virtual waifu that his author insert character could fuck. Everyone else in the WLF are just as, if not more, uninteresting as Abby is, too. I play this game for, literally, everything but the story. The graphics, gameplay, music - everything else is fantastic, but most of the characters and writing are bland af. It sucks too, because prior to the last half of the game, I didn't even think the story was that bad. Probably give it a 8/10 overall. Good, but not as good as the first. However, the pacing and writing drags this game down sooo much, especially, in the last half of the game. It just becomes a jumbled up, incomprehensible mess by the last third. Constantly jumping forward and back through time, killing off bland characters before you're even attached to them, then going back to the past to try and get you to care about them after they've already been killed, which is the opposite way you're meant to do that in a story, failing to get me to care for any single character on Abby's side, with the small exceptions of Lev and Yara. However, the biggest sin this game made was trying to convince you that it was all about taking revenge for your loved ones. The ending of this game is nonsensical. Why is it Abby is allowed to get her revenge, and go free, winding up happy, while Ellie spares Abby for absolutely no reason, after saying she was going out to get her and Tommy's revenge for Joel after Tommy located her, then she just fucking lets her go, having avenged nothing. Ellie ends up as the biggest loser in this game. Joel dies, Jesse dies, she loses her comfy life with Dina, and doesn't even have Tommy to go to anymore. Do you remember what her biggest fear was in the first game? She said she was, "scared of winding up alone." And, that's exactly what happens to her by the end. She's lost everyone, and everything she's ever loved, and is left an empty, lifeless shell of what she used to be, all while Abby, the main force that brought all her misery upon her, and took most of this away, gets to go free. For everything, except the story, I give the game a 9.5/10. Adding the story to that, and putting extra emphasis on it, because of how important the story of the original was to TLOU, and me, I give TLOU2 about a 6/10. Ghost of Tsushima is still Game of the Year for 2020. I've played through it 4 times now, and have absolutely zero complaints I can think of. That game is damn near perfect. The problem with the TLOU2 is that they focused way more on being sjw and LGBTQ friendly to gain a wider audience, and seem more progressive, than on creating a satisfying, engaging end to a story 7 years in the making... For that, I can't forgive Neil Druckman. I can tell that they had something special in mind too, but it seemingly got derailed, because they decided to focus too much on arbitrary shit, and lost the plot. I don't mind when games talk about gender politics, impoverished minorities, bigotry, or any other sociopolitical topic like that, but there are right and wrong ways to implement these things. I didn't play the original game for all that shit. I played it for Joel and Ellie. I watched their journey, seeing them grow closer together to the point where Joel grew past his grief and was able to open up again. He changes to the point where he eventually thinks of Ellie as his own daughter, and actively decides to give up on saving the entire world, just to save her life. It was selfish, yes, but I'd probably do the same thing if I was in his shoes, and I had just risked my life to bring her across the country. I think quite a few people would do the same. There were parts of 2 I did genuinely love, mostly everything involving Joel and Ellie. They handled the reveal of Ellie finding out Joel lied to her really well, and I loved every part of the game where it's just Joel and Ellie together again. I also quite enjoyed how they showed off Ellie's PTSD I'm not even mad Joel died, honestly. I was expecting it to happen in 2 either way, but definitely not less than an hour in, and having him get killed off like a bitch, after saving Abby's life. There was even a point with Abby when they kinda got me to care. That's when they had introduced Lev and Yara, and had the 3 traveling together. But by the end, I just don't care anymore. This game left me feeling just as empty as Ellie after I finished it. Still the single most disappointed a game has ever left me. I've considered The Last of Us to be my favorite game of all time since I first played it back in 2013, and to wait all those years just to find out how far the story had fallen broke my heart.
@@Gunsblazin94 I started reading it it was way too long. I started skimming when you said it was 8.5 and left completely when you said ghost of T was game of the year. Ghost raw but not TLOU2. And ain’t that the point? Ellie biggest fears came to fruition because of her quest for revenge. And I’m on abbys side! Joel and Ellie never considered that for every action is a reaction and Abby is that reaction. Ellie lost a father figure Abby lost her real father foh. Ellie also killed a pregnant lady, she killed a bunch of people who killed Joel because he killed a bunch of people. It’s gotta stop eventually and I think that’s why Ellie let her go cuz this mess is pointless. Now my post is too long! My bad
I dont think so. Ellie isnt military trained like Abby, shes strong of course but not military strong. Also, shes heavily injured in this scenario. I think Ellie more as a stealther with top aiming skills (a natural, as Tommy says). I think shes also very sensitive to anticipate the right choice in combats.
@Ευαγγελος Ζερβας have you read what I wrote? she IS a pro, but in other sense, not a raw killer. her strenght doesnt rely on her body as much as on her intelligence and stealth skills. but thats just what I think of her based in the series, all things considered. feel free to have other opinion but for me my written view still stands. and she didn't have actual military training, she was too young. also, it's said she didn't care much bout their discipline, used to sneak out, wasn't even that experienced in shooting (as said she only shooted rats with a rifle). again, she had never left Boston QZ, showing she had no camp experience. she was just a child in a military school. it's way different of having military training. as for Joel's, I'm counting his regard on her.

There is so much to interpret and so much to process. It’s hard to take in, but once you succeed in understanding the game, you will see it in a much better light. Only Red Dead Redemption 2 can rival the immense amount of thought put into this piece of literature.
I agree that there are idiots that just gave the game a 0 on meta score just because it was the popular thing to do. But there are some people that gave an in depth analysis and did not like the game. I respect their opinion.
Alan Penguin Absolutely. Massive respect to Skill Up for having actual reasons to dislike the game. Most other haters don’t provide evidence to back up their beliefs.
I do agree with a lot of criticism on the game in relation to the plot, the game's pacing, etc. Despite that, I still personally enjoyed the game a lot and it was one of the best games that came out for PS4. I think this is the type of game that people will only appreciate a little bit more after some time.

Rattlers went ra-ta-ta-ta with that silenced sub. I had so much fun in this encounter, releasing them against each other and I'm just sneaking past everything. I even kited them to the upper floor and where they holed up near the exit. Didn't fire a single bullet for these fools. Nicely done with those air shots, seen em a couple of times, never ceases to amaze me.
The resort is a very fun final sandbox, with the added variable of being able to set infected loose on other enemies. I liked your tactic of luring the two Clickers with the explosive arrow, then killing one of the Rattlers who came to make such the infected received minimal damage before getting inside. The smoke bomb action was also appreciated. Interesting choice to handle the last portion non-lethally. It's good to know that you can run inside avoiding detecting before the enemies sprint out. Survivor+ was fun for me but what I'm really waiting on is Grounded. I hope it's a noticeable step up, and I'm very interested in formulating new tactics.

People forget, that for this guy to be doing this part in 10 minutes... He likely had to waste HOURS UPON HOURS of doing these said missions to be able to do them in 10 minutes. He's a gamer through and through. I don't have the patience these days to actually go for self-achievements like these, but if I also played for hundreds of hours the same game and in the same parts, I would eventually be as good (figuratively speaking, not literally). I'm just happy by completing the game 100% and Platinum in the hardest difficulty. That's it for me really. And also enjoy the story of the game (not skipping cutscenes) while at it.
The combat, game play and graphics are definitely a 10/10. However, the narrative on the other hand, well that’s a whole different story 😭 I completed it at 19 hours and 59 minutes. I’m currently on my second play through; I have skipped all cutscenes and I’ve just saved Lev after he kills his mum. I’m at just over 12 hours. I’ll have this game boxed off in 15 hours total, I reckon. First play through, I didn’t connect with any of the characters, nor was I captivated by the music. The original, I completed it twelve times and watched every single cutscene, it never got old - everything about it was just excellent. Having played part 2, I won’t be able to play the original again and, I’ve had a copy of the original from the day it was released and, bought the remastered version, too.

All those people crying over the story direction of Last of Us 2.....clearly didn't played this thing through and through. This game is awesome. Angry Joe's review for 6 out of 10 was such an issult to this masterpiece of a game. You can just see 6 years of work has been put in . Level and world design. Game mechanics. Awesome.
He gave it a 6 BECAUSE of how good the gameplay and graphics were, it was pegged 4 points bc of the story and pacing. The exact opposite of what your saying, not the other way around
@@pspdude127 agree on the pacing part. Story is a matter of preference. People wanted a good ol' repeat of Last of Us part 1. Where Joe and Ellie went on a big adventure together AGAIN. Like nothing happened. Instead they went for Joel being a wanted and 'dead man' after pulling what he did in the end of Part 1 with the Fireflies. Actions and consquences. Same as the story with Ellie and Abby. Where in the end Abby could have smashed Ellie twice and ending it. She didn't. People bashing Abby while she was the greater woman in the end. Going even against her own people. Angry Joe is entitled to give whatever rating he wants.....to me personally I kind of lost credibility on AJ for deducting so much points for a TOTAL game. It would be the same to rate Game of Thrones as MEDIOCRE as a whole series. Just my personal opinion. Nothing more.

I kinda hate that Abby beat literally the whole Jackson crew in that sequence, but Ellie paid her back overall

Imagine missing out on the beauty of this game cuz you were mad Abby was more swole then you
Accurate comment.
I also quite enjoyed how they showed off Ellie's PTSD
I'm not even mad Joel died, honestly.

My bad
this dude plays with ellie like how she would actually be in combat
@David Mutchler sacrifices had to be made to make it playable
Looks more like John Wick than Ellie
David Mutchler Ellie had a million weapons and trapmines at the start of the fight and chose to ambush Abby with a wooden plank lmao.
The precision and creativity are off the charts. It's like watching a gaming grandmaster at work.
If Thanos wanted to wipe out half of all living creatures, he could have just hired you.
I dunno man. I think Thanos wanted to keep it relatively low-key and not take it as far as SmvR.
Thanos was ambitious but he wasn't suicidal, he knew SmVR would aim for the head right away
Thanos actually changed his ideology in Endgame he wanted to erase everyone and start with a new race...
During GotG1, SmvR was busy on another job, so Thanos had to settle for Ronan the Accuser.
Dood... he harvested all the resources on xtra light, and had sliders on during this supposed survivor plus gameplay.
Seeing this, Ellie could calmly enter as a character in Mortal Kombat 😂

Wow ...no haters on here..just peeps who have played this game and appreciate how amazing this game is .
Yeah, the hate wave will die down over time. Most people were merely hating on the game because it was the popular thing to do.
I truly don’t understand the hate for this game. There has never been anything like it, and I have never experienced a story in a video game as deep and well crafted as this game.

When someone tells me the combat in this game sucks, I showed them this. Especially these other RUclipsrs 😆 they just don't understand 🙄
