      These two are among my favorite riders. Always delivering maximum effort. UCI over stepped. To impact the race as this will the two premier teams is just another example how the French aren’t interested fairness. I haven’t watched since stage 13. May only watch the spring classics. And yeah I think something isn’t right with 13s outcome. Test A. Sample in Switzerland or Belgium.

      I find the penalty to be appropriate as they need to set a standard in punishment a showing there is no tolerance for childish behaviour that puts others at risk. I wish other sports would do the same.....

    Maybe a warning to Rowe and Martin, plus a statement that that sort of behaviour is not wanted in the Tour would have sufficed. It's good to see Chris Froome is on the mend 👍

    Interesting that they would take the opportunity to expel an ineos rider the day before 3 alpine stages with 2 Frenchmen contending for the overall win. Taking away a team mate of Thomas, helps Pinot and Alaphilippe. In theory. Surely this cannot be a possibility right?

      Just a coincidence? Or could it possibly be the attitude of the U C I to the successful record of Sky and now Ineos? Probably not, but I would suggest that they temper their power trip and give out warnings before expulsion, most other sports follow that formula, why can't the U CI?

      Some who haven't busted bony parts may not understand that you DON'T flock around. Immediately kicking out anyone who chooses to try and take out another rider is the ONLY way to do it.
      Broken hips, shoulders, even legs when pile ups occur put a pro out of his income (next year always depends on this year, unless you;re the top with multiyear contracts.
      Hooking in a 45 mph sprint can cause the end of the hookee's career. Immediate DQ for you.

    The French have disqualified those two riders to weaken the competition. If it had been French riders nothing would have happened. The French/UCI are so desperate for a French winner. And Sagans comments are shoot! Who cares what rubbish he spouts with his constipated voice.
    They should have been fined 1000 Swiss francs each & on a last warning.
    Keep up the great work Pritch. :)

    I still dont know why they disqualified Peter Sagan in 2017.

    It's one thing to squeeze a rider out and jostle for position, it's another thing to reach out and punch/push/grab, or whatever Rowe did. Not saying Rowe should have been disqualified, but if he didn't do that they would both still be in the race. Keep hands on the bars and ride elbows out to avoid getting called for throwing an elbow when you need to defend your position..

    This was nothing, just a couple of pushes, no punching or throwing bidons to each others while sprinting towards the finish no nothing, just to favor the yellow jersey and weaken Jumbo and Ineos. And i don't even like Ineos but this is bad. And why not a time penalty but immediate disqualification. This is beyond everything which stands for fairness and sportsmanship. Alaphilippe has to win no matter what. They just handed the victory of 2019's tour the France on a silver platter to Alaphilippe.

Secondly, take your time to decide when and where to take your revenge. As the saying goes, revenge is a dish best served cold.

    What utter rubbish: the argument put forward here is that this is "normal behavior" when racing - so the penalty should just be a fine! The much more relevant point is that such behavior should NOT be acceptable at all. Therefore the UCI was correct to kick both riders out of the race. And they are VERY lucky that they did not receive a ban afterwards. Irresponsible - and disrespectible "professionals"!!!

    I think Mr. Lefevere should keep his big mouth shut and not be calling people brainless who suspect his rider of doping. personally, i don't care if he owns the cycling world, he is the one who is brainless. All you have to do is watch all the Armstrong videos how he put down everyone who accused him of doping, that should say a lot. Here is a guy who finished with the top riders the other day in one of the mountain stages and finished almost 15 minutes last year in the same stage. With history of cycling, can you blame anyone for not being even somewhat suspicious. If he is clean; great, if he wins, good for him, but still, it all is a little suspicious.

  • @advex4428
    @advex4428 5 лет назад

    Nutrition is definitely a priority topic for cycling, but not the part on how to feed trolls, like in the beginning of the video.
    Apart from that, I opt for a fine for the two cuddling cyclists, or a time penalty for their whole respective teams, albeit a small one, due to the fact, that in this sport, the right of each athlete to stay away from someone, who wants to get touchy feely, should be protected. This is not supposed to mean that each and every show of aggression and anger should be a reason for penalties. Tennis showed with its ongoing de-McEnroeization, that a sterile sport is less attractive.

    ASO got what they wanted. The Commissaires may be different nationalities but they and everyone else knows that ASO has been desperate for a French winner for years, hell they’ve been designing the courses to suit the best prospect French rider for years. They had their perfect opportunity here, they can say the were fair handed DQ’ing both riders but it also helps the best French prospects in years.
    There’s a saying “leave it on the road” and I think they did, making up afterwards. They are both ride captains and both showed their teams wouldn’t be pushed around on the road and they made their point and respected each other at the end of the stage. I wanted G to win but now, I hope Jumbo and Ineos now make a pact to work together and rip the legs off the two French riders (then declare the final stage won’t be a procession and the GC teams will race the final stage in Paris - now THAT would crown this the best TdF in years!).

    • @pantster9855
      @pantster9855 5 лет назад

      I think Luke was making a point because they also pushed G onto the verge, no need to do that to the GC favourite. Made the point by pushing one of Jumbo in to the peloton. Jumbo will have known they were there and who it was, they were side by side. Racing incident, should have been left at that and a fine afterwards if they wanted to make a point.

    7:12 it's clear that there are children in the crowd and a crash caused by the rider's antics could have seriously injured a child. The backlash if such a thing had happened would have been tremendous, there would be calls to separate riders from crowds, and could have lead to cycling as we enjoy it today to end. The UCI did the right thing by suspending the riders. The riders forgot they were racing among the crowd, if they wanted to play games, do it where there are barriers, or "when not at the front of the peloton" where all the cameras and crowds were focused on them. Also, as there were at least 3 separate incidents that lead to the DQ, the DS should have been on the radio telling them, hey guys ease up, and drop it, making the team directors partly responsible maybe.

    First time I’ve seen this site. I thought it was going to be cycling related, bloody hell, I was wrong, this one’s a long intro of whingeing.
    Seriously though, I’m surprised that comments on RUclips don’t accuse the Commisars of Xenophobia for depriving 2 teams that are dominating of their important road captains, thereby giving a French Maillot Jaune another advantage over 3 close rivals for the overall victory.
