- Have you ever heard of the Ilala Ferry on Malawi Lake? It is the mode of transportation used to cross the lake, with stops at many places along the way. I went on a 24 hour journey from Cape Maclear to Likoma island, and it was quite the adventure! I think this is a 'must do' if you visit Malawi.

Did you have trouble getting tickets? How soon did you book your cabin. I’m looking to try to experience next year in Malawi.
I booked a few days in advance. The ferry can get pretty full. They might have a high-speed boat that goes there now.
