Just bought the new Series III XA Forces MID GTX. I got them today. So far, I'm extremely impressed. They're gonna be my daily footwear.
How are they holding up a ~year later?
One of my favorite boots!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
I wear a pair as my duty boots at the fire house. They are light weight and supportive ... but hot due to GoreTex. I truly wish they offered these boots with regular laces.
I appreciate your willingness to share your experience.
What you don't like of the quick laces?
@@ketamyna they are so thin that they can create pain from the pressure. Also they are very long. And at some point they are going to fail...leaving me with useless boots until I can order a new proprietary lace.
@@readyme thanks for your reply. Can't you substitute them with normal laces?
@@ketamyna I did in a pair of XA Pro shoes. You have to use pliers to break the plastic guides inside each lace "hole". So yes, with some minor modifications you can use regular laces.
I have had pair of the latest model 4 months old and the leather is giving out in the exact spot as your earlier model. I have contact the retailer.
Solid review
Hi thanks for the review i love those boots, i am using those since last 5 years, would you be able to make comparison between those and Under Armor INFIL ?
Has anyone else had a problem with the quick lace untucking itself out of the tongue? And also the tongue sticking out from the boot, quite often riding out under the pant leg?
I've had mine less than a year (a bit over 6 mo.) Shoe has separated from the outer sole. I rock 'em in rugged terrain (none office/carpet) daily for work. (deputy in texas hill country). Great shoes, but wished they would have lasted longer.
two year warranty
i just tossed a pair of XA Pro's after using them as my summer and spring patrol shoes for about 3-4 years. I think some fall through the QC cracks but hopefully you got a replacement through their warranty. Be safe on the road brother
I’m a deputy in central Texas. You enjoyed them? I’m looking at them, but not sure of the $200 price tag. Was the waterproofing good?
Ever think about getting a pair of the 2020 versions and doing a review/comparison?
I have the 2019 model and they are awesome. I just purchased the 2020 model and have worn them for about a week. The 2020 model feel more like a boot compared to the 2019 model feel more like a shoe. I’m hoping once the 2020 model get some more wear time they will begin to feel like the 2019 model.
Вітаю! Чи є мінуси в цих черевиках? Шнурки, або підошва? Буду вдячний за відповідь!
Great review - thx!
I have narrow feet. Will that be a problem with these?
3:22 “The shoe split open here, and that’s not a positive thing”. Really? I love it when my shoes split open. It lets my feet say hello! 🦶
Right? I can’t imagine why anyone would complain about extra breathability
Bought a pair of Salomon off my wife today.
Would you please post a link to where you got them from?!
I have read they are narrow. Is that true?
The new versions are. When I produced this video they were not narrow. However, Salomon shifted the location were these are made and major changed occurred.
@@TheGearTester Oh no! I don't think I will be getting them now.
the "Iguana Green" Colorway was nice - but i think the don´t make them anymore ?!
How many centimeters is it from the ground to the top?
I'm pretty sure these get issued to you before SERE training. The forces version has rope points at the arches.
Interesting
@@KeterMalkuth I wish I could remember. These boots are actually discontinued at this point I think, I bought mine 3-4 years ago I think. When I was researching them back them, I remember that piece of information. It may be bullshit, but this is the internet so...
Not Issued at SERE.. MAYBE getting issued to SOF units (MARSOC, SEALS, RANGERS, SF) but the guys pick whatever they want and just get everything very discounted. Great Video!
How’s the toe box? Can it fit wide?
Trying to figure out what model to get gtx or none gtx ones?
Do the gtx ones get hot?
Being ex military I can’t wear gtx shoes mate. If they get wet they stay wet and they don’t breathe well where as non gtx if they get wet they dry much quicker and they breathe really well 👍🏻
J Bish I got the none GTX ones , I’m just waiting on them to show up at my front door. 89.00 bucks for them was a good deal. Thank you.
Standing in water all night GTX
@@jbish1479 Also ex mil. - Would put my sign under this! Goretex in shoes is kind of overhyped.
Goretex for me whenever it's raining as a patrol boot. Rains a lot in the PNW and we walk around and stand in the rain on calls quite often. I guess it depends on your activities wearing boots
3:31 waiiiiit.
An outdoor shoes lasted only a year- a year & half ?
I love the boots but the only issue i have is the separation between the sole and the shoe thats my only issue is
Does the non-GTX model guarantee that it is waterproof?
Top Secret
Best boots ever
Still a good shoe just a little broken in
What’s the sizing like one these? I’ve heard they run narrow, and I have wide feet in the forefoot. I normally wear a size 8.5 in Nike. What size should I use in these?
I found them far to narrow in the heel and started getting heel pain from them unfortunately. Really wanted to like them.
Is it true to size? How do the sizes work for these boots?
For the most part they’re true to size. To me they fit like Nikes without the Nike narrow-ness
@@lordvader3538 U dont find them narrow?
@@CharlotteSimmons1 my quests and xa’s didn’t seem narrow. I had a pair of speedcross’s that pinched my toes a bit
