There isn't as such, on older vehicles when pushing the throttle you meet resistance, and if you want kickdown you push harder and it comes in. On newer vehicles it seems to work in a similar way but is computer controlled.
Great video Peter! Although I knew most of them, I was surprised to find the positioning of the DW radio button, how do you operate it when your driving if its operated by your heal on the right side?
'Technically' you're not supposed to operate the radio when you're driving irrespective of where the foot switch is, you're supposed to pull over. It's certainly not easy on a DW though a quick response is possible
@@BristolRE TomTom telematics is meant to be getting rolled out around the London depots this year. Monitors the use of acceleration, braking and steering as well as over idling. Edit: It also knows what fuel economy you are getting and what you should be getting for the vehicle type.
@@ltv_2005 You're not allowed to film people whilst inside the bus, not allowed to touch an electronic device etc. It would almost certainly result in my employer telling me to remove the video. Just not worth the hassle.
@@BristolRE Well anything is better than those two and I've driven the latter of those two in both DF and WF versions. I liked the WF version better cause it's like driving an Optare Solo and I love those but I'll always be forever a Volvo man.
Another little gem. I’m pleased you take time to give us all the nuances of driving your buses and the routes on which you run.
Thank You, always depends on if I can think of something to say and if I have enough stand time.
Great video Peter and very well explained.
Thanks
The first one I actually didn’t know that. And the radio one especially! Nice video
Cheers!
Enjoy your videos. Keep them coming. Thank you. Doing s great job at this time. Hope you are not being overlooked for the service that you give.
@@hi-tech55 Thank You
Thank you for the cab area
You're welcome
Nice explanation video, I was just wondering where is exactly the kickdown button.

Could you try doing a DW, LT, Gemini 1 from your garage and maybe E400
I'll see when I get a chance
Nice explanation!
Thank You

Do your vehicles have Econospeed? We've had this system since 2015.
Unfortunately, yes, though I suspect it doesn't work on all.

@@johnhall4917 Yes, I've seen photos of the devices fitted to some WN buses.
Nice video keep it up what do you prefer the ENX or ENL ENS or ENN
Not keen on any that you've listed, possibly the ENL. Prefer the shorter EN used on the 377. They are sweet.
@@BristolRE Cool the 377 mmc is really nice
What are your thoughts on ex stagecoach buses (if your garage has them)
We don't have any
There aren’t any at Enfield, however, there are some at South Croydon for the 166
@@southlondoner7169 they used to be around enfield.
Classic ENX
Indeed! Rattle boxes!
3:18 length of video
Yes, longer than I had anticipated
Same as my local 318 route

Why don’t you record you driving or is it against Arriva rules?
It's probably not something Arriva would be happy with, so best not to take a chance

🤣🤣
I bloody hate ADL Enviro buses, my company operates the vast majority of these things in the 450+ fleet.
Not the nicest of buses, certainly.
@@BristolRE I've driven dome of the new 2019 MMC models they have and despite the lack of good looks, they are far more comfortable to drive.
