- While innocently cleaning that empty engine bay on my T210 Lola, my former partner in Lola came by to check on his P210 getting the Vititoe 550 turbo normalized upgrade. When Nick and John Efinger are done, this plane is going to be AMAZING!!

I used to fly a p210 with this conversion, can confirm it is amazing with the power and climb and super smooth engine. If you have a P210 with a good wing spare, put this engine in for sure!
Awesome quick episode Dan, thank you for the inside look into the mechanical/maintenance side. 🤘🇺🇸🛩️
Another awesome T/O Shorty! Dang that engine is just downright pretty.
A 210 that does what it says on the box! Awesome. Hope Nick enjoys it.
My first high performance flight with my instructor was in a NEW just delivered 1977 T210...20 or so hrs. Hooked on the 210 ever since then. Many hrs and yrs later, still hooked! And a P210 with this conversion. I am slobbering heavily. Oh..just make sure the wing spar is double seriously triple checked over...40 plus grand replacement cost.
Very impressive!
Good stuff.
Great clip. Need more on maintenance and or upgrades. Not much content out there. Thank you.
Pressuring is huge. You don't know how nice it is until you fly in a plane that has it. Even if your not going to flite levels. Its so much nicer. So is turbo normalization
Note pressurized mags too!
👍☑️Maybe when you grow up you can get one too Dan! Beautiful
I hope you take us for a ride in the near future.😎👍 🇨🇱
I was there. We created it a few weeks before you did. Just didn’t trademark it in time. 🤪
@@TakingOff - 🤣🤣🤣👍 🇨🇱
The funny thing was, right before the last video I watched on Lola, I had actually visited Vititoe's web page and was looking at this very upgrade. I was wondering if you had considered it. However, the upgrade itself is probably worth about half of what Lola would be able to be sold for with a new, overhauled engine. That's a pretty good amount of money. I think I looked at it, and with a new engine, it was close to $150,000. Still, it might not be a bad investment if you could afford it. While I'm no longer able to actively fly, I think a P210 with the Vititoe TN-550 in it would be a great high teens, low 20's cruiser. Maybe not as comfortable as a Malibu/Mirage, but still a nice, fast airplane.
The tuned induction should eliminate the need for GAMIs, but they should make it run even better.
Man, that is a sweet setup. What a huge performance difference. I'm surprised they let an aircraft out of the factory with that anemic of an engine. That must be scary with the stock engine at high altitudes in the summer with some passengers, fuel, and cargo!
That engine probably wasn't available when the aircraft was built.
@@davem5333 - What I meant was, surprised they didn’t put a bigger engine in there.
Why no anti ice equipment on this machine?
G, day from Sydney, Australia.
*The engine looks Mag nificent.
* For the first 50 hours, is there any manufactures power setting instructions?
Thank you for sharing/caring.
🌏🇭🇲
Mechanic is so right, this how a P210 should have come from the factory..
Nice looking engine! And wow, 1k foot a minute....Dang, I'm jealous.
Me too!
Awesome upgrade. I'm very surprised to see no ice protection on the leading edge of the P210 in this video, not that it would be spending much time hanging out in an icing layer anyway.
It has Wing Extensions & VG's when purchased. De-Ice was removed for the most part previously.
A 210 at 210! The way is should be.
I see that with AC its around 70k. What kind of rate does an aircraft mechanic charge? They said 250-260 hours for install.
Essa informações não tem como traduzir para o português???
Lower tbo I assume.
And what sort of costs would this STC upgrade run vs just a new/rebuilt original?
It's not my checkbook, but seems to me to be about $100K for the vititoe and installation. Factory rebuilt I would guess about $70K. EDIT-- It's more like $150K
@@TakingOff ah thx, so about 40% more. but a sweet upgrade for sure…
Someone just posted a comment somewhere that it was more like $150K. Let me find out.
@kaineSherwood Yeah, it's the $150K number.
What’s that kit 100k

That's nice, but a pt6 would be so much nicer
Totally!
And a total s-load more money for the engine. And fuel.
So sad to see this airplane destroyed so soon after completion.
Very sad
Thought it was one of those if it fits it flies planes especially with the upgrade. Did being over gross really bring her down
@@kasm10 P210 is different than the non pressurized. Lower useful load.
