  • To insert multiple citations or references in Zotero reference manager while writing a document, you typically use the word processing software's built-in features (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice) in conjunction with the Zotero plugin. Here's a step-by-step guide for inserting multiple citations or references in Zotero:
Note: Ensure that you have both Zotero and the Zotero Word Processor Plugin (or the equivalent for your word processing software) installed and configured.
Open your Document: Open the document (e.g., Microsoft Word or Google Docs) where you want to insert citations and references.
Place Your Cursor: Position your cursor at the point in the document where you want to insert the citations.
Open Zotero: Switch to your Zotero library and locate the references you want to cite. You can either use the search bar, folders, or tags to find the relevant references.
Select Multiple References: To insert multiple citations, hold down the "Ctrl" (Windows/Linux) or "Cmd" (Mac) key on your keyboard while clicking on the references you want to insert. This allows you to select multiple references simultaneously.
    Insert Citations:
Microsoft Word: Go to the "Zotero" tab in Word, click "Add/Edit Citation," and select your citation style. A search bar will appear. You can start typing the author's name, title, or keyword from the reference to locate the reference quickly. Once you find the reference, select it, and click "OK."
Google Docs: Click on the "Add-ons" menu, select "Zotero," and choose "Add/Edit Citation." Choose your citation style, search for the references, and insert them.
Repeat as Needed: You can repeat steps 3 to 5 to insert multiple citations throughout your document.
Bibliography/References List: To generate a bibliography or references list, place your cursor where you want the list to appear (usually at the end of your document), and then use Zotero to insert it.
In Microsoft Word, go to the "Zotero" tab, click "Add/Edit Bibliography," and select your citation style.
In Google Docs, click on the "Add-ons" menu, select "Zotero," and choose "Add/Edit Bibliography."
Update Citations and Bibliography: If you add, remove, or edit citations in your document, you can easily update the citations and bibliography by clicking the respective Zotero commands (e.g., "Update Citations and Bibliography" in Word or "Refresh" in Google Docs).
By following these steps, you can insert multiple citations and generate a bibliography using Zotero, making it easier to manage your references and citations while writing your documents.

For that you need to edit the reference style. CSL editor tool is simple and easy to use for that purpose. Check out this video of mine,

Hello! Which style of citation are you using? because in IEEE style it doesn't work. Instead of [1, 2, 3] it shows [1], [2], [3]. Thx!

No, I didn’t. I’ve changed to another style that uses superscript numbers
