Yes! That has happened to me quite a few times where I really liked it after trying or sampling, bought it, then ended up not liking it after a couple of full days wear.
@@laurenzieger9617 haha I tend to hold onto it for several months to see if maybe it’s just a phase and once I’ve worn it like 3 more times and I’m still not loving it anymore, I find it a new home 😬

My Angelique Noir sat for 2 years, because of regret. I opened it again this year, and it's a bit sweet with the angelica in the background, not screeching at the front like it did at first. The angelica is also softer in the background.
I blind bought Crimson rocks by amouage and hated it so much, to me it smelled like old lady sitting in a dusty room drinking cinnamon tea. And a year ago I got it out to sell it and sprayed it on my wrist. I was so shocked, i liked the smell, I wore it that day and the next days after that and now I can't live without it. It's crazy how our taste can evolve
It took me a few wears of Not a Perfume by Juliette Has a Gun to “get it”, I was literally like “where is this fragrance??..what’s all the hype about!?” On the 3rd or 4th wear i finally GOT IT! I didn’t even know it was that fragrance, it was just a beautiful smell all around me and I was like ahhh this is the hype, I get it now 😆 And thus began my love for frags of the your skin but better category! It also taught me to be patient with frags and to not knock ‘em till you try it several times! Wonderful video Anne!!!! 💕
I'm so glad you had a change of heart about Yum Pistachio Gelato 33! I was on the fence when I first smelled it, but now I viscerally crave it! I'm obsessed with the pairing you suggested a while back of Tonka Nutmeg + YPG33. Genius!
Bal d’afrique, clean skin reserve, vanilla 28, Ambrosia imperial is still growing on me, every time I spray it I like it a little more. I’m going to have to revisit yum pistachio for sure, I know for a fact that after it sits for a bit after that initial spray it’s going to become a love.
I had the same experience with Kayali Pistachio Gelato. It’s not that I didn’t like it, it just wasn’t special at first. I put it away in my collection for months and took it out recently while organizing- it grew up a little 😂
Oh how I've missed you after that 4 day streak of video uploadssss!! lol... I want to try Angelique Noir but am afraid that it may turn out like 312 St Honore (heavy on angelika in that musk) that did not sit well with my hubby at all when I wore it. I'm a fan of green vanilla with some aromatics in them like Poets of Berlin so need to get a sample of Angelique Noir.
Aw! 🥰 I find 312 and AN to be quite different, but Angelique Noir is an angelica bomb so that may not be for him 😬 Always fun to grab a sample to experience though!
Off perfume topic...You look absolutely stunning! I believe your lipstick color today is the absolute best I have seen you in. Not too overly dark, but the Pop it gives is truly gorgeous on you!
Can you please do a video on your favorite Dossier perfumes? And also, a video on some of your favorite scented bodycare products to layer before your perfumes to help your scent last all day (specifically for the “clean girl”/“your skin but better” category)?
Heyyy Anne 👋🏾, I used to literally detest YSL Libre. I purchased it because AI the Great convinced me it was so good. So I blind bought it. Even though I could have went in the store and smell it I just thought it was going to be amazing. Unfortunately, it wasn’t 😂😂😂. I let it sit for 6 months , because I was supposed to return it but you know how life is 😂😂. I came back to smell it now I’m obsessed with it. I love the entire Libre line of fragrances. 😂😂😂
JPG La Belle grew on me. I hated it at first but I loved the bottle so I kept it for years and now it's so good. Si Fiora also grew on me. I couldn't figure out all the hype. This one also sat a couple years and now I love it. Im thinking my nose changed maybe. Lol loved your video. ❤
Please do a whole vid on green / not sweet vanillas 🙏 you mentioned loving pine or juniper with vanilla, which sounds lovely so I’d like to know what those fragrances are that deliver that. Angelique Noir is the most intriguing to me in this list.
Thank you! I get them from a bunch of places, Luckyscent, Sephora, Twisted Lily, Selfridges, Fragrance Net, and Jomashop to name a few. I also have links in the description box to where you can get them :)
What an interesting, engaging idea for a video! I have many fragrances in my collection that I may never have bought in the first place as my early experiences with them via decants were awful-- I almost chucked these offensive samples out and moved on entirely. Like you, I revisited them months later and WOW! I marvelled at my once strong dislike of them because there I was, online buying full bottles! If you enjoy Angelique Noir, I wonder what you make of Christian Provenzano's 'Nuit de Noches'? It's a perfect example of 'need to experience, almost impossible to describe thoroughly'. If I hadn't known that the note of angelica featured in it, I'd have been at a loss as to how to describe it to you or anyone else. A real oddball of a fragrance which you may also like as the vanilla in it is similar to many vanillas you enjoy. The Guerlain range from which AN is from is not for me. The quality is not there for the price point. A great shame and mystery, I mean the historic house of Guerlain! Tsk tsk, it's shocking. I realise that it may perform just as YOU hope for it to and thus find the price sensible for the quality you get. I don't. The search continues! I love Ambre Loup by Rania J but some of the negative reviews of it have made my eyes water from the laughter. That's one of the ones I almost wrote off entirely at the sampling stage 🤣🤣🤣🤷♀👍
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed 😊 I've definitely had to repurchase fragrance samples after decluttering them because all of a sudden months or years later I'm thinking about a scent and craving the experience again?? 😄 I actually haven't smelled any Christian Provenzano fragrances! Ambre Loup is one of the best from Rania J I think
I’m opposite on Yum Pistachio. I initially adored it. I remember the first day I wore it, felt like I was floating in a cloud straight from the heavens. Now, though, it’s a bit overpowering and cloying and I really miss it. My favorite grow on me fragrance is Versace Crystal Noir; I don’t claim the nose who didn’t initially like her. 😹
that's too funny cause I'm the opposite with Crystal Noir! 😅 Loved it at first sniff and later on it didn't fully jive with me anymore. However, I still think it's an excellent fragrance and a stand out in the designer realm, maybe one day it will hit for me again, I revisit it from time to time 😄💜
Anne!!! Loveeee the rings on your right hand. Would you mind to share where you got them from? The Pistachio fragrance is my favourite from the Kayali house. It would always be in my collection. I am Cuir Beluga team from Guerlain. ❤
Omg! I had exact the same issue/experience with Angelique noire! It’s like you telling my story…😁it was one of my first samples… I was disappointed cause it was sooo hyped and I was expecting something incredible different!I I gifted the first sample to a friend … but I had 2 more samples within the years -not because I loved it.. but I wanted to understand it… and I don’t know what happened… but one day I smelled it and I was in love !!! I Love the dry down soooo much. It’s now one of my favorite fragrances. If a fragrance is hyped I get curious , but I wouldn’t buy it just because it’s popular… I try it and I either forget about it or I am obsessed. But Angelique noire was not a dislike … more a “question mark” at first sniff… Now I love it!
Yess I've purchased so many samples of it over the years to try to understand it 😄 It's not what I'd consider beginner friendly, but I'm so glad it's now in my collection as a total love 😆
Iris shot is on my wishlist. Have you tried LA VIE EST BELLE IRIS ABSOLU EAU DE PARFUM ...if so is it comparable to that? The only reason I haven't pulled to trigger on Iris shot , is because I was wondering if it smells like this perfume.
I haven't! The orange blossom in the La Vie Est Belle range isn't for me and Iris Shot doesn't have any so I think they'd be quite different, also because LVEB has fruity notes, and Iris Shot has the almond and carrot seeds. Definitely worth sampling I think :)
Angelique Noire is the ultimate "grows on you" fragrance imo, I read it over and over again that it wasn't love at first sniff and now it's one of their favorites:) same for me
I did a total 180 on Replica Jazz Club. I love a tobacco note but at first it was too sharp and all I got were the citrusy and herbal notes but now I love it! Maybe it was my nose or maybe my bottle just needed to sit and mellow!
Congrats. I love Angelique Noire. Don't own it yet due to its hefty price. But it's only a matter of time. To my nose it comes across as a no-holds barred Tuxedo on steroids. I keep hearing that Guerlain plans on discontinuing the entire arts and materials collection in favor of even more expensive extraits. Tonka Imperiale has already fallen victim. So I guess I'd better pull the trigger on Angelique Noire sooner rather than later.
I was wondering if Chloe Vanilla Planifolia smells anything like Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef & Arpels. If not, does it remind you of any other perfume? Thank you 🤍
They're quite different! It honestly doesn't remind me of another perfume I've smelled, but if you enjoy the idea of a creamy, feminine vanilla that's not too sweet, with a bit of a green quality, I think it's worth checking out :)
Hi Anne, How do you handle it if someone asks what you’re wearing and it’s G Water…do you tell them the full name? Does that become an awkward situation because of the name’s controversy? That’s what I’m wondering about G Water if I were to ever own it. I’m not saying the name is problematic for everyone, but I know it might be for some people, and I just want to be sensitive to that. I haven’t smelled G Water yet, but I’d like to sample.
Yes I give them the full name so they have the full information they need if they're interested in it, I haven't had anyone react negatively about it, but there are a lot of fragrances that smell comparable to it that you could get instead. Tocca Colette, Commodity Gold Expressive, and Les Soeurs de Noe Call Me Iris are quite similar :)
@@AnneLauren Thank you, that’s very helpful. I actually adore Commodity Gold, and I tried Eau Duelle at your recommendation as well and went through the 50ml pretty quickly. Vanilla is my favorite note too, but I don’t always like it linear. I love floral vanillas, like Xerjoff Allende, musky vanillas, aromatic or green vanillas, which you often recommend and I add them to my to-sample list. I own Dama Bianca now because I had to try it after hearing your reviews, and its gorgeous.
Purple Fig (Vilhelm) was a disappointment but by the time I got to the end of the bottle it was love. Portrait of a Lady was a blind buy, could not smell it hardly when I tried it in winter and what I could smell I disliked, tried again in spring and it seemed like a different perfume, it's still not a love but I am liking it more and more.
After I discovered your channel and binged on the newest videos, I then started watching older ones. In one of them you said how much you disliked green vanillas. I was like…wait…what???😂
I love an ice cream note…but haven’t found one that I feel is giving me ice cream? Any recommendations? 🍦 I absolutely love Chloe Vanilla Planifolia too by the way…LOVE!
I know what you mean, I have yet to smell something that gives me a true ice cream experience, but some that give me that vibe would be Imaginary Authors A Whiff of Wafflecone, Snif Heal the Way, and Lorenzo Pazzaglia Van Exstasyx. There's also Theodoros Kalotinis Pear Gelato that I have yet to try, but I've heard good things :)

Try it again and again… 😂😂😂 on my third bottle, instant love for me, and major compliment getter! A fresh unique take on a rose oud combo! Perfection to me!
Kayali Deja Vu White Flowers really grew on me once it sat and the vanilla had time deepen. MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold smelled really sharp and masculine at first. I couldn’t stand it. Now I absolutely love it. I was disappointed when I first smelled Sparkling Jo. I wanted to love it. At first, the fizzy aldehylic champagne smell was overwhelming and gave me a headache. I didn’t get any of the pear. I was going to give it away but tried it again. Now it seems like the different scents have blended nicely with each other and I really like it. I’m trying to like Fleur Narcotique. All I get is moss and none of the fruits and florals. I’m hoping it will grow on me.
I’m so glad you said this, I have a sample of Deja Vu and had brushed it off. But it’s sat there for months and it’s a perfect spring day so I decided to try it again. Very pretty! I’m definitely getting more vanilla and less cloying flowers. I might pick up a mini to try it more, thank you!
I quite enjoy Deja Vu, it's a lovely fragrance from their line up! That's so interesting! I get a load of florals and musk from Fleur Narcotique, and I wish the fruits popped more :)
I love Angelique Noire, the price has stopped me as I can buy 2 really nice fragrances for the price of that one. Yum Pistachio 🤮. I'm trying to decide between Violet Shot and Iris Shot. I need to test them side by side one last time before I purchase (I'll do the 15 ml because they do last and I don't need 100 ml). I'm thinking of blind buying the Vanilla Planifora, I've never returned a fragrance to Nordstrom so I won't feel guilty if I have to return.
Totally understand, I like to get my private line Guerlains either from Selfridges or second hand to save some $. I agree, the 15ml size is perfect, and fragrancesline.com has samples of Vanilla Planifolia in case you're looking for where you can try it
@@AnneLauren Thanks for the quick reply. I only have Venom of love and BR540 from the list, and I can't wait to try it. Additionally, Is this a Fall/ winter combo for you?
On the initial blast, I got that too. However, I don’t perceive it that way anymore. I believe it’s the tangerine, other notes, and aldehydes that give that impression. The dry down is to die for though! Nothing smoother on the market imo.
Unfortunately none of my current fragrances are wowing me - I seriously dislike the patchouli in Kayali Vanilla 28, I have no idea why I m not loving my travel spray of Black Opium (I’m not smelling any vanilla) and while I enjoyed Arabian Vanilla in the beginning, now I’m not enjoying it. 🤔🤷🏽♀️
Actually would be also really cool to see the opposite kind of pattern, where you grow to dislike or despise ones that you have loved 🎉

Anne pleeeease do a Brigerton vibes video. If there was ever a video idea made for you it is this 💗🧚 #woodlandfairies
aw! ✨
It's so interesting how different qualities of a fragrance pop more in different seasons!
After I discovered your channel and binged on the newest videos, I then started watching older ones. In one of them you said how much you disliked green vanillas. I was like…wait…what???😂
no literallyyy 😂
Could you give me examples of Pine-vanillas? Thanks!
I love an ice cream note…but haven’t found one that I feel is giving me ice cream? Any recommendations? 🍦
I absolutely love Chloe Vanilla Planifolia too by the way…LOVE!
@@AnneLauren thanks for the recommendations!
@@samanthahafford7055 my pleasure!
Anne what do you think of Armani Magenta Tanzanite?
I think it's great! Here's a link to my review :) ruclips.net/video/xaZCuMxftP0/видео.html
@@AnneLaurenThank you 🥰 I watched everything on your channel but I forgot about that review 🙈
We share love for 20 perfumes (so far 🧏♀️) and your reviews made me buy them
Thank you Anne for the best descriptions,I can smell a perfume through your words 💗😘
@@anyamartinovic I appreciate your support so much! No worries at all, I talk about a lot 😄 I'm so glad I've been able to introduce some gems into your life 🥹💕
I really struggling with Miller Harris "Scherzo". I'm going to try it again tomorrow, maybe its the day when i can appreciate it😬
Try it again and again… 😂😂😂 on my third bottle, instant love for me, and major compliment getter! A fresh unique take on a rose oud combo! Perfection to me!
That one isn't for me either, but if you got a bottle I hope it grows on you! ❤️
@@MychelleBellydance oh you’re welcome! I didn’t think much of it when I first smelled it but now I love it! I’m glad you gave it another try 😊
I quite enjoy Deja Vu, it's a lovely fragrance from their line up!
That's so interesting! I get a load of florals and musk from Fleur Narcotique, and I wish the fruits popped more :)
@@AnneLauren that is interesting. I’m a fruity floral girl. That’s what I was hoping to get from FN. I’m hanging on to it, hoping it will grow on me.
I agree, the 15ml size is perfect, and fragrancesline.com has samples of Vanilla Planifolia in case you're looking for where you can try it
Can anyone tell me where I can get a sample of Chloe Vanilla Plantifolia?
fragrancesline.com
What do you layer venom of love with pls?
Replica Jazz Club, MFK BR540, BDK Velvet Tonka, and Zara Ebony Wood to name a few :)
@@AnneLauren Thanks for the quick reply. I only have Venom of love and BR540 from the list, and I can't wait to try it. Additionally, Is this a Fall/ winter combo for you?
@@UcheGustke of course! And yes, I personally only wear Venom of Love in the fall and winter :)
I find that VOL layers really well with fragrances with wood, tobacco, vanilla, & booze 🤌🏼
@@AnneLauren Thanks❤
Guidance
Iris shot is right up my alley, the only thing is that it doesn’t last on me😢
aw what a shame!
Your eyebrows are too perfect it bothers me 😭
omg thank you ❤️😩
Cuir beluga smells like cherry cough syrup to me. Admittedly my nose has been struggling since I had a bad bout with Covid in December 2022
I'm sorry to hear that :(
On the initial blast, I got that too.
