I've been hearing about this new model 589 and I would love to see that Peterbilt emblem and all that's on the Pride and Class somehow be involved with this potential new model. The 567 aka 2.1 meter cab with a hood like this would be a sharp looking truck.
@@RockyMountainPeterbilts Ohhh wow! That's awesome and good to hear. The 389 guys shouldn't be too harsh on it unlike how the W9 guys were when they saw the W990. I'll be glad when you all will be able to speak more about this new truck.
The digital dash and smart wheel are enough to make me keep the truck I have. I hate the dash and the steering wheel wears out. How much is that to replace, not to mention that you can’t put whatever wheel you want on it.
Sun is going to hit the stainless steel hood center strip and reflect glare into the driver’s eyes. Beautiful tractor. Nice details. Needs a bumper with zero holes in it, and about 100 lights.
Trucks like these makes me want to drive one. Who doesn’t like these trucks? Man some straight pipes would be awesome. But man. $200k. How do you afford one of these?
Nice 389 Pride & Class, but if I own one, I'd probably modify it a bit: 1. Blank off the lights at the back of the sleeper, and put it on a headache board or (personal preference) a custom European-style cabinet rack. 2. On said cabinet rack, in addition to the lights and the lines to the trailer, install an APU, preferably a battery-powered model, but a engine-powered model is also good. 3. Make it open piped so it can be LOUD and PROUD!
What's a 389 pride and class spec out like this going for these days? Also What's the weight difference between these and a 579 ultraloft? Thanks for another video of a gorgeous truck.
When talking about radios, is it still necessary to call out that it's AM/FM? lol Do they even make a radio that is just one or the other? I know back in the day many came with just an AM radio and FM was an option. But that's from the 50's. In 2022 I think just saying radio is sufficient. Old habits are hard to break...
@Fishkeg Welcome to the future of cars and trucks. Just another way to keep mechanics from fixing and diagnose properly, make repairs keeping any vehicle maintained for longevity. Simply replace a complicated part, charge a high bill, send you on your way. Keeps anybody from doing repairs on their own if something fails. Just a legal money scam with cars and trucks being built with all the technology engineered into them...
These trucks aren’t as efficient aerodynamically, which means you’re spending more in fuel. Their windshields are smaller, the insides are more cramped, and the wheelbase is longer. Personally, I don’t see the point to these trucks vs a 579 model? What’s to be gained?
You don't see the point of driving a Mercedes or instead of a kia? The Peterbuit is as luxurious as you can get. The comfort of that truck is second to none. That truck will hold its value through the years.
@@XloMotion driving a truck has one purpose. To make money. You keep more of what you make, when your expenses are down. These old style trucks aren’t as aerodynamic as the newer models. You’ll spend thousands more in fuel per year driving a classic model, instead of a newer body style. Owning a truck and being a business owner has one goal: to make money. You’re correct about these trucks holding their value, though. But the only reason they hold value, just because you get these old timer truck drivers who want to buy a truck like this, because they’re dumb lmao.
@@davidthompson184 and these trucks have all the maneuverability of a Gerald r Ford class aircraft carrier to boot. Plus I don't see how that front axle can ever get any weight on it being all the way up there
I've only ever sat in the cab of a semi once (a good Samaritan trucker actually pulled over to take me to a gas station to call home when I had a flat on the interstate...yeah, top bloke to make such a gesture), but I have to wonder how comfortable it would be driving with that stainless strip down the center of the hood causing all kinds of unwanted glare. Also, I'm sure there are other reasons than just nostalgia for old style esthetics, but why get a truck so severely lacking in aerodynamics when you can get a 579 or other more modern design to eke out better mpg, especially with today's insane diesel prices, especially when the price for the truck itself is essentially the same?
Pretty sure nostalgia and looks is most of it. And ego. Heard a couple guys riding down the road one time talking shit about every driver they passed cause we didn't have "real trucks" 😂😂. They sure were proud of their company owned 389's.
Dude, what’s with all the fast camera movements? I think I’m getting motion sickness! Nice rig, would like to have seen it but you’re all over the place…..
Before I would consider owning a Rig like that I’d definitely would have to own my own freight and all the Logistics Warehouses that I would pick up and deliver too. You see that way the Businesses pay for the truck and trailers doesn’t cost me a Dime!!! I would also go to the dealer and offer him $87000.00 in $CASH$. It’s just a Semi Tractor designed to haul freight, 2023 so what, he’d have to prove to me it’s worth more. $87000.00 and not a penny more.
Beautiful Peterbilt Pride and Class! Nice work, Keith!
One of the most beautiful 389s I have seen I want one like this just another color . Awesome.
Of course it's beautiful, check lights and down comes with the PRIDE AND CLASS
