    I was blown half way across the street by an IED in Afghanistan. My "Tango" was on me before the last shrapnel had come down to earth. Two other guys were gone instantly and I was unconscious with $10 worth of nuts and bolts in me. The doctors told me that what saved me was his quick thinking. He correctly deduced that the two others were lost causes, even before he reached us, and decided to only focus me. Since "I wasn't there" I don't know what kind of magic he did, but apparently I was mere seconds from having to pay the ferry man. I never talked to him again, but Tangos testament made me realize that he might have been thinking "I can't lose another one" while working furiously to get insides back in and make other insides not leak out.

      From a German who did 2 Tours in Afghanistan: During my 2nd Tour we were attached to an American EOD Group who bravely cleared the way for us. This was back in 2011.
      Suddenly one of the American EODs got blown up by an IED, in Response another American EOD went to him to check (sadly he was dead) but while he checked a 2nd IED went off blowing him away (he luckily survived but lost one of his Legs) Then when we Germans went to check on them a 3rd IED blew up, luckily for us a little too soon, so me and my 2 Comrades got away with Shrapnel Wounds. In my case the Shrapnels hit at 13 Places on the Left Side of my Upper Chest.
      Either way, just wanted to share that because to this Day i'm very grateful for the American Heroes who did the EOD Work for our Unit.

      I dont get why nobody has yet designed an EMP style electrical explosive or a signal jammer that stops the drone from getting to the controller. These aren't military grade drones, they're DJI drones. You can literally bring signal disrupts to stop the pilot from flying it.

    • @sloht4061
      @sloht4061 Месяц назад +2

      I just looked, you can buy RF Drone Jamming Systems that are portable and would disrupt the connection between the pilot and drone. They also have these rifle type Jammers which are capable of taking out the connection of up to 150 feet. I just don't get it. These are toys with grenades, easy to disrupt and easy to prevent. It's like the military just want these guys to die.

      @@MrNikolidas But, you wouldn't deploy drones from your own position because, if you do that, your enemy know exactly where you are. If you deploy your drones a few hundred feet behind your own lines and fly away from the disrupts, you'd be fine. The point of the blockers would be to prevent drones from attacking your exact positions in trenches or close to enemy lines.

After almost 20 years in the Australian Army (Grunt), I can certainly appreciate the fact that regardless of the situation, with all of the sh*t being thrown at these guys, their comittment, professionalism, and most importantly, their dedication to each other to ensure that no-one gets left on the field of battle. Very proud of the young Aussie soldier "Dave", you're a real trooper mate. Deepest respect to all of the soldiers in Chosen Company for their willingness to put their lives on the line for Ukraine, and to assist them in stopping the Russian invaders from trying to take Ukraine because some psychotic, egotistical dictator, believes that he can do what he wants with no consequences!
