Set to proton-ge and boot in desktop mode first, then try games mode, should work

i tried on the steam deck but it looks like playdough and frame drops are abysmal at least in desktop mode with keyboard and mouse

Maybe try in gaming mode and you could also try increasing your vram

Install cryo and it boosts fps
