You won't really be able to get all that many multiplayer matches just due to less people playing the multiplayer but occasionally you might find a small lobby all depends on what the time of the day is and what not.

yeah game chat can be annoying for others if using the built in mic and the speakers cranked up as it causes interference. The AI noise canceling features seem to work decently good at filtering audio from gameplay but not so much the voices of others in the game chat, though this may improve over time as the AI gets more familiar with your voice. Better to use a headset for voice chat if possible.

Losing momentum while changing directions is an option you can change, I set mine to about 50 out of 100, The higher numbers slow you down quicker. If you set it to 0, you'll have less control when you try to be more precise. I already beat the game, it's also a good story to go along with it. I got the switch version as well, plays great.
