SPOILERS: I think Arthur Morgan was the best Protagonist out of any game Rockstar has ever made! I never actually felt real emotion from a video game like I did when playing RDR2... nearing the end of the game and the songs they chose when you’d be riding back to camp or out to meet someone. Just finished this game. Never have I felt so emotionally attached to a player like Arthur Morgan. Hands down the best game to date. I’ve felt so close that I actually feel mad at Rockstar for (SPOILER) ending his character. I’ve signed that petition where people want rockstar to release some sort of DLC or alternative to his character. He deserved so much better. “I gave you all I had” damn...
by the way I just found out that the exact same scene is actually Arthur's actor favorite moment as well... check this out ruclips.net/video/DcqLWrlJLzA/видео.html (the timecode is 24:17)
I didn’t feel nothing but I so wanted to. :( It’s really weird. I cried like a baby in RDR’s ending. I love Arthur though! I guess my life isn’t as innocent like it was in 2010.
@@Veroxzes tbh i didn't cried at RDR1 ending because of it's violence and "epicness" (walkin out of the barn you know) I felt more surprised and angry (and Killing agent Ross was such a good ending) but yeah, RDR1, never cried...
I disagree with this. Arthur's death was an integral part of the story. A story that I and so many others loved. A story that inspired many. Arthur went out on top. He tells John that it would mean a lot to him if John left and saved himself while Arthur stayed and fought. It's what Arthur wanted at that moment to redeem himself of some of his past actions and to be at peace. When crawling away from Micah, he says, "...it turns out I've won." Without him dying in that fashion, it would be a completely different story. The entire game was great, but the ending made it so much more meaningful and unforgettable to me.
I’m head over heels in love with RDR2, hands down favourite game of all time, currently on my 3rd play through and I’m still uncovering things I never came across before, it’s just unreal how detailed and how massive the game is, I must’ve put at least 150+ hours into it and I still can’t wait to get home from work and keep going. A masterpiece, I’m not sure any other game will ever be able to beat it, maybe if they do RDR3. Which I really hope they do.
I just wish the eating system was better. Still not sure how I should eat to stay perfect. And it’s a pain having to go into the pause menu to see your stats.
I *LOVE* this game! I'm on my 5th playthrough, I can ride the same roads over and over again, the atmosphere is always going to be great. It brings a tear to my eyes everytime I play it.
They thought it was gonna be on California, but it ended up being in NY, and it lasted for five years. _"After five years on the east coast, it was time to go home."_
It's so eerie as well how much the actual actors have similar body language and personality to the characters they play. That's just great casting work. Benjamin is right. It's not just the voice. It's the entire performance.
you’re telling me... that if not for a worker at gamestop, Roger Clark may have not played Arthur Morgan? Props to that gamestop employee, I hope he gets a promotion, or if gamestop employee isn’t what he aspires to be, gets the job of his dreams.
I love how Ben and Roger are just so into the franchise and really love the games. I feel like there's actors out there who just do a job to do a job and don't really enjoy or respect the material they're involved in. I feel like the performance capture, in general, gets the actors so much more involved in the story, never mind the fact there is just so much more footage than movies would have.
One of my favorite lines in the game is the early quest with Rev. Swanson and Arthur: 'Arthur! I followed your advice!' 'Then your god truly has forsaken you.' I'm glad Roger and Ben talked about how great a character he was.
The way Roger shakes his head (1:53) when the woman says they're the voices of the characters, you can tell that actually upsets him. He's also pressing his lips against each other after she introduces him.
Their voices are freaking amazing, so unique and so pleasing. Great job, you two (And all of them really), bringing the cast to life with your voices and motion performances.
At the very end of this video when Ben discusses his thoughts on Dutch and Arthur on the cliff. That gives me sort of a little closure that I didn’t get in the game. It hurt so much to lose Arthur but it was also salt in the wound when Dutch turned his back on him.
I feel like most people daydream of being a famous actor, or musician, or artist, but I find myself daydreaming about being able to work with such awesome people as the cast of RDR.
Exactly, whenever Ben was discussing how the crew got together during Jack's return party and sang and danced almost made me cry...that moment will forever be preserved in the game
I love how there is a part in the game where John Marston holds the shotgun in the barn in the same exact pose as the game cover of RDR1. They even used the same camera angle
@@kique4537 it’s in the epilogue part 1. Mission called “Jim Milton Rides Again?” In this mission the riders from the Laramie Gang attack the ranch in the middle of the night, John defends it and chases them down to the barn where he is attacked by their leader. It is when you kill him here that he does that famous pose in the RDR1 game cover
21:39 "why the hell would i wanna do that?" i both agree with and love Benjamin Byron Davis answer to that question i think everyone in both games where cast perfectly for their roles...
I mean it’s quite clear that she had piss poor questions for a question panel that she had to be well aware of for at least a week, along with the entire time the audience was asking questions she showed no interest in any of the responses except for a couple of the political correct ones, like let’s be honest to the fullest extent she’s heard about the game seen the game but for sure hasn’t played it all of her body languages says so.
Mr. Byron's voice was a product of divine intervention, I've never heard a voice so incredibly smooth, but also gravelly, elegant and imponent. Roger's voice is also really good, just amazing voice actors and actors overall, in that department there are few that do it as well as Rockstar.
"You guys were Arthur just as much as I was, if not, even more!!" Bro you're literally thee Arthur Morgan flaws and all thee FENTON!! Thee Arthur Callahan. The raw, living, and breathing Arthur Morgan believes that we're more of an Arthur Morgan than he was made me feel special and all but, YOUUUU SIR IS THE BIG MAN TING FLESH AMD.BLOOD ARTHUR MORGAN.
37:19 That is exactly the message I got from the game so it was nice to hear it from Roger himself. Arthur realized his fate & it made him morally confront himself. In chapter 6 he was really reflective on his past actions, & realized the dishonorable way that he beat a sick man. If he would not have beaten Mr. Downs for money he would not have contracted TB. & in the end, Micah beat up Arthur (a sick man) on the mountaintop. It seemed like karma to me. But I got the good ending where Arthur died on the mountaintop watching the Sunrise.
I had no idea these guys actually looked so much like their characters. The technology captures their facial features perfectly. To spend time with Arthur in real life would be amazing
Somehow, the fly-swatting at 13:16 is so much like Arthur, the fact that they did the mo-cap shines through and those little details are what make RDR2 such a masterpiece.
I love how the actors know so much about both the games like how Benjamin mentioned Nastass from RDR1 and I found it amazing that Roger actually played the first game before he ever new he would get the job for 2
Noshir Dalal yeah Charles Smith was one of my favourite characters i loved him he was a great character and i liked his Native Warrior personality about him
41:49 HA! I knew it, but I think there's even more behind that, probably even more than Roger Clark knows and they cut these parts to make it less obvious. My first clue was what Arthur wrote in his journal after the fishing mission with Jack and after that, I noticed for the first time they both have exactly the same color of hair while Abigail and John both have black hair...
“Listen, I was the prize pony once but I’m here to tell you, this life, this way, well, we’re the last I reckon, and we ain’t long for it.” - Arthur Morgan
When they talk about the thousands of people who worked on the game it reminded me of the fact that the closing credits take over 30 minutes. I’ve never played a game with credits take that long.
I don't know why but... I always love the way Arthur says, "Sure". I knew the voice actor was from somewhere... different. I couldn't place it... I thought maybe cajun, or lived in Canada for a while; I never would have guessed half American half Irish... but it fits. And I could listen to Dutch talk all day long. Like most people, I was ready to "keep it together" and follow Dutch to the ends of the earth. I never played the first RDR, so this was my first exposure to Dutch, but I absolutely love his character... and everyone seems to play off of Ben so well (Roger too), it's just magical.
On my first play through I was so distraught when I realized Arthur was going to die. I had pre-ordered and played without watching endings on RUclips, so I had no idea. It took awhile to get used to playing as John, I was mad at Rockstar for a bit for not giving us the three ending option like in GTA 5, LOL! If they had, well...sorry John, but Abigail would have become a Morgan. ;)
Nunya yeah I googled something for my dad because he wanted to know when he could get a new horse and I didn’t finish it yet and all I saw was “when does Arthur get sick” I mainly thought it was just a cold or something, I didn’t forget about it the whole time but I never once watched any videos about the story

“I gave you all I had” damn...
same
by the way I just found out that the exact same scene is actually Arthur's actor favorite moment as well... check this out

I hate how much these guys have to clarify that they are more than voice actors.
Much love, you all are very talented.
I'm very happy at how you can tell their joy at being apart of this masterpiece.
Regan McCarthy same here! Just finished my 100% play thru. I’ve tried to move on from rdr but I always find my way back
I just wish the eating system was better. Still not sure how I should eat to stay perfect. And it’s a pain having to go into the pause menu to see your stats.
I just don't like the online aspect of the game. Everything else (except for minor nitpicks) is perfect in my opinion.
You still playing? I've just finished the game for the first time 🙂
I *LOVE* this game! I'm on my 5th playthrough, I can ride the same roads over and over again, the atmosphere is always going to be great. It brings a tear to my eyes everytime I play it.
They thought it was gonna be on California, but it ended up being in NY, and it lasted for five years.

It's so eerie as well how much the actual actors have similar body language and personality to the characters they play. That's just great casting work. Benjamin is right. It's not just the voice. It's the entire performance.
you’re telling me...
that if not for a worker at gamestop,
Roger Clark may have not played Arthur Morgan?
Props to that gamestop employee, I hope he gets a promotion, or if gamestop employee isn’t what he aspires to be, gets the job of his dreams.

I love how Ben and Roger are just so into the franchise and really love the games. I feel like there's actors out there who just do a job to do a job and don't really enjoy or respect the material they're involved in. I feel like the performance capture, in general, gets the actors so much more involved in the story, never mind the fact there is just so much more footage than movies would have.
One of my favorite lines in the game is the early quest with Rev. Swanson and Arthur:
'Arthur! I followed your advice!'
'Then your god truly has forsaken you.'
I'm glad Roger and Ben talked about how great a character he was.
The way Roger shakes his head (1:53) when the woman says they're the voices of the characters, you can tell that actually upsets him. He's also pressing his lips against each other after she introduces him.
24:31 Did somebody say Gavin ?. I’m looking for my Mate GAVIN have you seen him ? GAVIN Oh where have you gone to Gavin
GA. VI. NNNNNN
"Gavin? Gavin where are you? Has anyone seen GAVIN!!!???"

GAAAAAAVIIIIIN!!!! GAV-IN! GAAAV!
GAAAAVIIIIIN?!
Can you imagine playing RDR1 and not knowing you are going to be the main character of RDR2

Yo hol up you might be onto somethin’ here!
It’s not unfortunately he wears his own jacket because they both have different materials and Arthur has a bit of black on his collar
The shirt that John wear at the beginning in Horseshoe Overlook also looks identical to Dutch’s shirt in the first Redemption.

I love how there is a part in the game where John Marston holds the shotgun in the barn in the same exact pose as the game cover of RDR1. They even used the same camera angle
What part

Roger Clark and Arthur Morgan are basically the same person
no idea Ben was in Antman and the Wasp. I totally missed him, not used to seeing him beard free.
guitarman0365 he plays a FBI guy.
He was also in the belko experiment
When the concept of the RDR2 game was first conceived... The first words that the creator uttered was, *"I...Have A Plan."*
Mr. Byron's voice was a product of divine intervention, I've never heard a voice so incredibly smooth, but also gravelly, elegant and imponent. Roger's voice is also really good, just amazing voice actors and actors overall, in that department there are few that do it as well as Rockstar.
25:15 When Roger said, “You have to love yourself a fire,” I lost my shit.
Bens voice sounds ridiculously good wow. Fits the character perfectly
I had no idea these guys actually looked so much like their characters. The technology captures their facial features perfectly. To spend time with Arthur in real life would be amazing

Little did Roger know that after the final scene of Red Dead 2, people weren't ready to let go of Arthur and continue playing as John.
Roger: I-i can’t say that to Rob, i mean he’s ...John marston
Arthur: What’s up dumbass Wolf boy
I gotta say it even now, thank you guys, devs, actors, techs, artists, you made a beautiful thing... Do not change!
Somehow, the fly-swatting at 13:16 is so much like Arthur, the fact that they did the mo-cap shines through and those little details are what make RDR2 such a masterpiece.
I love how the actors know so much about both the games like how Benjamin mentioned Nastass from RDR1 and I found it amazing that Roger actually played the first game before he ever new he would get the job for 2
This will always be the best example of how to do a prequel perfectly. It’s actually astounding how many small details they carry over.

HA!
I love how they know the entire story better than the fans. It’s usually the opposite lol.

Roger & Benjamin: Voices arent really what we do
“Listen, I was the prize pony once but I’m here to tell you, this life, this way, well, we’re the last I reckon, and we ain’t long for it.” - Arthur Morgan
When they talk about the thousands of people who worked on the game it reminded me of the fact that the closing credits take over 30 minutes. I’ve never played a game with credits take that long.
Would of been a good shot seeing Dutch walking away not crying but showing sadness when he left Arthur. Maybe a single tear.
The fact that both Roger and Ben played the first game is wholesome
ben was in the first one so that makes sense
Dutch has such a charismatic voice
