Ilhan Omar used her time during Thursday's congressional hearing on antisemitism on college campuses to criticize UCLA Chancellor Gene Block for his school's response to violence that broke out during protests over the war in Gaza. Omar told Block he "should be ashamed for letting a peaceful protest gathering get hijacked by an angry mob."

A congressional hearing should be for the purpose of Congress people getting information they need to form good laws. But for most Congress people, the purpose of the hearing is to show themselves off to their supporters as faithful followers of the 'party line". The only justification for a Congress person making a statement during a hearing is if the statement serves to clarify what a subsequent question is all about. Insulting a witness is completely inappropriate even if the witness a despicable person.

She fails to note the number of non-students, who are professional agitators, that were present within & who influenced these protesters.
So if she noted them, what would that look like? Students are still the vast majority. What was that proportion like?
@@fleebertreatise1063 from interviews ive seen from the victims of that police approved, brown shirt thuggery, they said damn near all of them where outsiders. most of them in their 30's and 40's trying to attack the student encampment. many were identified as far right extremists that frequent right wing rallies across the country.
He “rejects the premise”. Does he explain which part of the premise he rejects? The camps being against policy is probably true, but that doesn’t mean her premise was wrong.
Ms. Omar should have given him more time to speak so that he could explain that.

Truly your ignorance is astounding. You don't see he's not answer the question she is asking? She is asking why was unauthorized people allowed into the campus to assault students. He's answer was students were doing illegal protest. The right to assemble has been granted by the CONSTITUTION. They are within their right to protest. You can argue that they are disturbing other students but that does not mean they can allow outsiders into campus to ASSAULT students. How is that protecting the safety of the other students? If riots brakes out in the middle of campus, it compromised the safety of ALL students. As the leader of a college, he is responsible for the safety of these students, which he failed to do so.
They declared guilty those who said that 16 thousand children whose lives were put to death in a short period of 6 months could not be terrorists. Isn't it strange!

It's not the colleges responsibility to ensure the safety of an of student organized event. It was the organizers responsibility to ensure that all the appropriate safety measures were in place and to ensure that protests remained peaceful. It was their protest, therefore The Organizers failed to do that. Yet, they expect the very people they're protesting against to ensure their safety. That is absolutely nuts. Rep. Omar is absolutrely Nuts.
What nonsense are you talking about? Colleges are responsible for the safety of their students, simple as that. If they see things that could escalate and harm the students, then it is their responsibility to deescalate it. If fights brakes out, it can harm all the students. Instead of trying to get the situation under control, they decided to make it worse. The right to assemble has been granted by the CONSTITUTION. The students are within their right to protest. This failure is all the college's fault.

6. Palestinian children are taught from the time they are toddlers to hate Jews and want them dead
7. Palestinians have been offered a state countless times and have rejected it each time. They don’t want a Palestinian state if srael is still in existence, they only want a Palestinian state that replaces Israel, not one that is next to Israel.
I could go on but those are a few of the reasons that are actually at the root of all the tragedies.

Freedom of speech does not give people the right to attack people who are exercising their freedom of speech or even doing something illegal. You are not allowed to smash up someone’s car for example if they park in an illegal area.
