  • Lake Bolboci or the "sea of Bucegi" is an artificial dam lake in the Bucegi Massif, on the Ialomita river, behind the Bolboci dam, with a useful volume of 17.9 million m³, compared to the initial volume of 19.4 million m³. The rivers Blana, Nucet (both on the left), Bolboci and Plaiul Mircii (on the right) also flow into Lake Bolboci.
The Bolboci cabin is located on the shore of the lake and was built in 1928. Until 1971, it could only be used in the summer, because it did not have a stove and was not covered with tin. It is at a distance of 8 km from Sinaia and 10 km (2 hours by car) from the Ialomitei Cave.
