It was a very windy day and even with the Rode mic with a "dead cat", the wind was too much to handle and broke up the sound quite a bit that editing couldn't help much. :( I was forced to rush this video out with little time, due to an unfortunate circumstance...we had a hard drive fail which had ALL of our content on it. We had to send that hard drive (HDD) in to the lab to hopefully get all the info recovered (prayers needed fo that). In the meantime...we bought a flash drive (SSD) this time, so no more hard drives for us! Too risky.
Hi Brian, question for you.....when using the tow dolly, what was the max speed you would drive? I know you no longer have a motorhome, we watch your videos every week, anyway I am trying to decide if I am going to tow 4 on the ground, or use a dolly, thanks for your time Brian :)
Hi Christian! I would typically drive around 62 mph just because it was a sweet spot for MPG and feeling safe. I don’t like to tell anyone what they “should” get because we all have different needs and I may tell you something that doesn’t work out for you the same as it does/did for us. BUT...if we were to do it all over again, we would not do a dolly. Let us know if you have any other questions. 👍🏻😊🤓
Very good overview. Does this model require that the car's steering wheel be locked? If so and your car doesn't have a locking steering wheel, how do you accomplish that?
Thanks! The front wheels are on the dolly, so the car is off and therefore the steering wheel is locked. The steering is all done from the wheels of the dolly. If you have a front wheel drive car/auto, then you just take the keys out as you normally would.
That would not be an issue, because your front wheels are strapped on and the dolly has a steering mechanism. There is a pin you take out of the dolly that allows the front wheels to turn as you turn your coach. This of course releases any pressure on those front tires when turning and allows them to stay stationary more easily. The pin goes back in the dolly steering mechanism ONLY when towing the dolly with NO weight on it (no vehicle on it). 👍🏻
Hi, I would recommend using your seatbelt to hold the steering wheel in place simply run the seatbelt thru the steering wheel then to the buckle then adjust your seat back to make it tight.
We didn’t, we were showing the floor plan and storage. It also has a 1000w pure sine inverter also that we did not mention. 2 A/C units and more that we probably didn’t mention in this reveal video.

Yep LOL sorry...using RUclips Studio App and thought this was on a recent video. Didn’t see what video you were watching. I don’t think I ever mentioned that it had surge brakes. That was an old video and don’t recall for sure, but we don’t have that dolly any longer. 👍🏻

As far as a dolly goes, it was a good dolly. Any dolly can be a pain when you were on a sand or loose gravel site which makes it hard to push around by hand. Hookup was fairly easy, the hardest part was getting on the ground and wrapping the chains around the cars frame. The straps do tend to loosen back up a bit as soon as you take off and move and we frequently had to stop to retighten them just once after initial hookup. I still think it’s a great dolly, I just wouldn’t want to go with a dolly next time.
We have a guard behind the wheels that seems to be doing a good job (knock on wood). I think the short distance from the back of the motorhome to the car also helps at the speed you travel. My own guess as this is typical of motorhomes having that long flap/guard in the back behind the wheels.
😂 Mike, there’s a ton of RV blogs and groups out there that most everyone that goes full time use to research before jumping into something like this. It’s an amazing community that is always there to help other fellow RVers. Where we are staying currently is gated and they know it’s our dolly. Suppose someone could try throwing it over the fence. 🤣. Sounds like you are having some interest or...? 😜

I think I may have shown that a time or two in a couple videos. The thing that makes it easy, is once you have it on the dolly the first time...all you do is take notice of how much room your tires have on each side of the ramps. Now you know where your drivers side tire has to be when pulling on. So I just open my window (or car door) so that I can see the front tire and ramp and just guide it right on the the ramp where I know it needs to be and I know The other side will naturally go right where it needs to be also. Kelp going forward until you feel it hit the end of the ramps, put your parking brake on so that it won’t roll back once you put it into park and let your foot off the brake. Now you can strap it down, connect the chains etc... and then you can take the parking brake off. Very simple and I feel is MUCH easier than having someone guid you and also goes much quicker when you can actually SEE where your tire is when loading. 👍🏻😊🤓

What do you use to keep rocks from the rv from hitting your car ?

I think I may have shown that a time or two in a couple videos. The thing that makes it easy, is once you have it on the dolly the first time...all you do is take notice of how much room your tires have on each side of the ramps. Now you know where your drivers side tire has to be when pulling on. So I just open my window (or car door) so that I can see the front tire and ramp and just guide it right on the the ramp where I know it needs to be and I know The other side will naturally go right where it needs to be also.
