That is quite the piston! Have you got a machine shop near you that bores cylinders? The place we use gets $80 per cylinder. With all your engineering background maybe see if you can pick up a used boring machine and freshen up whatever cylinders give you problems. The one we had at the last shop only bored up to around 500cc's and was about the same size as a bread box. Got both Bayou seats done and moved a 400ex seat while I was finishing up. Might have a 300ex seat coming in from the same guy and perhaps sell him some tires also. Much to the dismay of many music fans, Hustle is not a dance, it's a lifestyle.
I think it was hydrolocked or while running they turned the key off and then back on to make it go boom ! I have seen pistons that bad but it’s usually from extreme overheating ! An outboard 2 stroke can and will do that ! The reason I’m saying Hydrolock is because of the rust on the valves but usually it will brake the rod !
Keep it up man iv learned alot have a nice collection of atvs now that I can wire them lol have a question or two about a project of mine tho ur advice would be amazing is their a way I can get in touch?
Hey Capt!!! I was at the local ATV dealer, they had no stock, new or used and the prices were beyond crazy.... So, Yes, U maybe rich!!! Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
@@HarveySpooner I know. I still remember all the news about it and lawsuits and moms and broken necks. So I had to have one. Finally went on a buying spree and got 2x big red 1x 200 1x 250r, 1x 70. Prices of $300-$500 each. This was about 3 years ago all ran except 250r. Now all have sat degraded and don't run. Future projects I guess
that is odd, i have never seen that happen and i run my xr200r when it's 116 outside in the summer. maby it started pinging\detonating when they were riding hard.
Hey David, The crank case was also low on oil, maybe running hot and low on oil.... This engine has a rough life at the end.... Thanks for Ur thoughts, info, watching, and commenting!!!
Yikes!! Abused hard until it popped! I'm going to say low oil and no air filter it must have been a smoker so they killed it just because they could. Kinda wondering if it also had one of those aftermarket cdi boxes with no rev limiter but then again it didn't throw the rod
The RUclips algorithm put your John Deere 160 post before me this morning. Just yesterday mine quit exactly like yours. Drove it to a spot, then it wouldn't move. Did you get yours figured out? Appreciate any response.
Can't believe that them old Honda's go for so much were you live, down south there a dime a dozen!
Mustie, Taryl Fixes All, and Harvey Spooner... Always makes my Sundays great!!
Great film Harvey! Just goes to show we've never seen it all! Every day is a learning day, no matter what you do for a living.
That is some real carnage. I have never seen one quite like that.

excited to see it come back!
The guy who taught me how to fix my own bikes
Hey Don!!! I'm the guy who taught U how to fix Ur own bike??? Thanks for Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!
@@HarveySpooner you also taught me how to wire my atvs, trying to get in touch with you?
Wonders what kind of fuel they were running

It looks like over heating more than a lack of oil, sir (guessing by the clean internals). Thanks again!

After seeing the videos on this one I should be rich from my running 3 wheelers.

Is it true that on a Chinese quad all I have to do is cross the black and red wire to skip the ignition switch?!?!?!?!?!?

Only guessing ,Was it to much ether spray? Thumbs Up .
Hey JM, Actually, that could do it also!!! Thanks for the good explanation!!! Thanks also for watching and commenting!!!
Wow well abused, but recycling some of your spares ,it will live again
Looks like someone was running it without a filter for a while
Well dang i see some never checked the oil before abusing the machine
Wow that's about the worst piston ive ever seen that was still in one piece. Well cooked.
Yep, that is wide open until chernobyl happens. 👍👍
if anyone can do it you can Sir.
a cheap rebuild that harvey does is like shes shot again in 2 years bc of all the sitting they do an the amount of starting fluild not mixed gas
My guess is just over revved to death. Youd be upset if youd paid 800 with no spare parts and expect a rider
just hacksaw out the ring groves throw a set of rings in it and go,,,its a HONDA
