Buried Bloodline is the best rocket sidearm. It's not even close. That's coming from a guy who has 11,785 kills on his Indebted Kindness with Beacon Rounds and Voltshot.
As someone who has both Lead From Gold/Voltshot and Impulse Amplifier/Voltshot IK rolls, I will say Impulse quickly became my go-to. The ammo economy is just fine without needing LFG (especially with Voltshot's ability to clear masses of adds with a single shot), and the lightning-fast reloads from Impulse make it so much more painless to trigger Voltshot. It also just feels much better to shoot when the rounds travel that much faster.
Dead ass, I'm happy someone else realized this. You'll have more than enough for ammo econ. IA +VOLT slaps hard AF. I don't have tac mag but I'm chilling bc my be is high enough if allows me to hit like 2-3 enemies at the same time and kill them before I even proc volt. Plus I can use backup mag without penalties.
Man Impulse Amplifier on IK is so underrated. Super fast reloads and basically makes the weapon feel hitscan. And all this is done passively! It spoiled me so much that I cant stand to play other rocket sidearms coz they dont have IA
The Call has the worst perk pool but it's the only one in the Kinetic slot. As soon as a Stasis Chill clip Rocket Side gets introduced The Call is out. Aberrant is on top because Heal Clip slides into every endgame build, but only slightly above Indebted.
@@pencilswordfish the thing is for warlocks, we've got a lot of ways to heal with solar and prismatic, so we don't need heal clip. Which opens up a lot of other possibilities. Plus if you use that one season artifact mod, you’ll get explosions, so now every roll has pseudo-incandescent in addition to its own rolls. And that also gets better with multiple pale heart weapons.
Depend on the build….The Call Is better for Orpheus Rigs due to its origin perk. indebted Kindness obviously has voltshot/deconstruct, but also has perks such as Permeability which can be used on Gyrfalcons Builds or you can run Permeability Indebted Kindness and run double strand or a double stasis set up if you have a decent enough dodge cool down. Aberrant action is great and is amazing for a melee damage build mixed with ad clear. It really depends. Indebted kindness is probably best because it can Unravel, Scorch, extend radian and restoration, Slow (due to seasonal artifact), or apply destabilizing rounds due to permeability. Or it can jolt due to voltshot. Also, Indebted Kindness with permeability can also apply by light and dark transcendent meter. Applied with a primary kinetic, this can overcharge your transcendent meter extremely quick
As a Pyrogale Titan main, Aberrant Action has become my go to for my build since I use Dragon's Breath for my Exotic. For over an over the top build: The Call Aberrant Action and DBreath have been fun with the Titan Rocket chest exotic.
I had a LFG+volt Indebted but one time I accidentally pulled an enlightened+volt from vault instead and lowkey loved it way more. The added reload speed helps tremendously with voltshot, and the ammo economy for rocket sidearms is not so bad to warrant LFG. I would say that In the competition between rocket sidearms, Indebted is the best due to the uptime of its second column perk in any level of gameplay. While Aberrant will only see its best incan procs in higher difficulty, then the call with just a neutral position. BUT overall if I were to run any given loadout in the current sandbox, the call is my #1 pick. Its a meta archetype and its the best way to build darkness for transcendence. The energy slot is incredibly overpopulated with weapons such as ergo, trinity, wave GLs, 1-2p shotties, etc. and the kinetic/darkness slot has a hard time competing.
Same, I have a LFG+volt and an Impulse+volt, as good as they are the enlightened+volt with a reload masterwork roll is my go to, the increased reload speed feels so much better with voltshot
I use indebted every time unless I want solar damage to extend restoration & radiant, then I use aberrant. Volt shot is just better than incandescent & ammo economy is better with double special since it has LFG.
You missed one of the most obvious options In most activities I don't and I run the call and then depending upon bill craft and either one of the energy side arms along with it Indebted Provides additional options for Build crafting because of the perk permeability Great video keep them coming
Maybe im still stuck in a bad mindset but I want my special weapon to deal with the chunkier enemies so Ive been using a slice vorpal roll for the call. This works great with hazardours propulsion as slice procs as you are using the class ability anyway. Voltshot and incandescent are great but id rather them and any sort of ability regen perks as well on my primary weapons
@@alexarhire4254 if you solo content like I do a lot you can run out of heavy ammo and need extra dps. I don’t need any of the other perks like one for all cause I one shot everything anyway.
Honestly I appreciate that The Call has the possibility of rolls for different purposes. The two I got so far have slice and one for all, and demolitionist with multikill clip. The first one is great for single target, because I can lower their damage and increase mine without kills, just hitting three enemies. The second is great for adds, because I can increase my damage with kills, get more grenades, and reload from reserves if I’m not ready for the multikill clip. Subjective godrolls are healthy for the game. I also much prefer enlightened action/voltshot over lead from gold. I really haven’t had issues with ammo since I’m still using my abilities and other weapons, and being able to more quickly reload after any kill means more voltshots. Honestly that’s my favorite rocket so far.
I personally love all 3. The Call hasn’t left my hand since I crafted it with lead from gold/desperate measures. Also commenting on the trace rifles reference at the beginning of the video; personally I think traces need a 20% buff to make them actually usable in the current meta
Late to the party, but Indebted Kindness is the best one. 5:29 I think that is exactly why. Someone did a poll and the results lined up with what you'd expect based solely on ease of acquisition.
I find hard to let go of exotics in the special slot (Graviton Lance, Sunshot, Ticcuus Divination, etc.) So The Call is my favorite. I hope Bungie will release a Stasis one in the future.
Personally, it's Abberant > Indebted > Call. Incand with the origin trait on Abberant leads to some crazy chain reaction explosions, and field prep gives it 74 ammo with 2 reserves. Voltshot carries Indebted super hard. The Call probably has the objectively best perk pool but for some reason I can't bring myself to use it over other kinetic slot specials. It's very very good, but it's lacking the elemental build synergy that the other two sidearms have
Another aspect of Indebted Kindness that many miss: the origin trait Sundering not only activates on constructs but also on breaking shields (any shield). It grants both a reload stat (40 according to d2foundry) and a reload scalar/multiplier. This makes it a great pair for Voltshot and even if we get a future arc rocket sidearm with Voltshot it might not be able to get to the reload speeds that Indebted Kindness can when there are shielded enemies, which there almost always are. Imo unless you're using it as a primary or doing double specials I think Beacon, Impulse, and Loose Change are all good options. Enlightened Action is fine but you don't use as many rounds to kill so imo you don't benefit as much vs the other options. Beacon mostly got the ease of use. Personally I think your roll is perfectly fine outside of the mag perks. Also I highly recommend Field Prep on Aberrant Action. Increases reserves which is always good plus the free reload boost when crouching.
Aberrant action and indebted kindness are the best for add clear and aoe damage. I feel like the only advantage the call has is that it’s kinetic, so you are able to use either exotic or other primary’s that synergize better with your class
Indebted Kindness with Impulse Amplifier and Adagio has been glued to my loadout since Warlord's Ruin came out, the fast projectiles in synergy with fast reload and a consistent uptime on the 30% damage buff just feels amazing and simple, as well as the design of Indebted Kindness is just solid and reminds me of the Magnum from Halo. I don't know, to me The Call and Abhorrent Action just feel clunky and bulky with perks we already see on other weapons but this is simply just my opinion, in the end the best rocket sidearm is the one that's your favorite for your setup!
For me it's very situational. In challenging endgame I'll use abhorrent action for heal clip, for decently difficult I'll use voltshot indebted kindness, for everyday stuff I'll use the call with hatchling. All of them are amazing
I have to say the aberrant action causes ignitions very very reliably rn. Probably has allot to do with the artifact, but none the less makes it very good if you want to run an ignition based build on solar. It also is absolutely monsterous when paired with stylish executioner on prismatic. It also builds the light bar extremely quickly. I gotta say while indebted kindness is more lethal, volt shot really isn’t super synergistic with allot and since it isn’t craftable that makes getting a god roll on it more difficult than I personally can afford the time to obtain.
the only reason i don't like indebted kindness compared to abberant action and the call, is that indebted kindness is the only 1 of the sidearms that CAN NOT be crafted...so im spending too much time grinding the encounter for little reward
Not everyone will feel this way but IMO that makes Indebted Kindness more exciting to get because of that reason. Crafting just makes you fill a checklist to get 5 borders then you've got your God roll. You're done farming. With Indebted Kindness and non craftable rolls? Yes it sucks every time I don't get the drop I want but when I finally do? Man is it great. I play looter games like ARPGs for that very reason and is what got me addicted to D2 lol.
Subjective for sure I love them all but aberrant action has taken the top spot in my load out these last couple of weeks. Incandescent is an instant room wipe where as the other two take more time to proc similar effects. Volt shot needs a kill plus a reload. Hatchlings need multi kills. That being said I keep all three plus the buried bloodline in my inventory at all times. ( yes buried bloodline is a rocket sidearm)
A kinetic damage rocket sidearm would reign supreme in this meta maybe we’ll get on some day. I crafted 2 abberant action and one of the rest so do whatever you want with that information. I would love to have a kinetic one so I can put double kinetic surge to also buff microcasm
u left out the biggest part,. how is dmg comparing? like the solar one has a perk that increases the size of its detonations: how is blast radius / velocity affecting it :/? How much is Jolt adding to the arc one? is it affected by weapon surges? for the strand one how is slice and hatchling adding to the dmg output, how are surges affecting it or the artifact perk for dealers choice weapons that trigger a solar explosion. so many questions left open :( great summary tho
I think we can all agree they are all bangers. Rocket sidearms are the best thing to happen to destiny in years. More of them plz bungie. Void and stasis next 🙏🏼
AA is absolutely nuts with my build in a way voltshot could never be. Strategist + incandescent while running song of flame with spoil+battle harmony class item. I pop supers every 2 minutes or so with like 20 intellect, and have nearly 100% ability up time on at least 1 ability at all times due to strategist proccing spoil. If I want to fill my darkness meter, I just run Monte Carlo or my strand machine gun. AA is far better for warlocks imo, especially this season. And as an added bonus, I'm an absolute orb generator for my team.
I will say if reverberation is actually good, like if the increase in blast radius is really good, it’s probably the best since you don’t necessarily need lead from gold on any sidearm (I don’t use lead from gold as it’s pretty much useless with the high ammo economy) so i will use it with beacon rounds and reverberation for the ultimate ac-130 build when used with the helicopter radiant dance machines build lol
I find myself using AA alot more I think incandescent is feeling really good but the call is my most used I have demo and ofa. I got into indebted during onslaught had a good roll sitting in my vault for months
I think The Call is the best one because it has the largest variety of good rolls. Between the left and right columns combined, there's only like 4 somewhat undesirable perks, while the other 2 have like 6 or 7
You thought wrong, what sane person would not choose heal clip incandescent on aberrant action and voltshot on lead from gold/impulse amplifier on indebted? The call is the worst sidearm out of all of those and has the shittiest perk pool and there is no debate on that, why the fuck would I want hatchling, one for all or whatever the call has when I can kill the whole room with voltshot or have aberrant action that also kills the whole room and has healing? The call is the most dick rided weapon in the game, holy fuck, go ahead and kill 1 enemy at a time but never type shit here again
Personally I think the best come down to build, each sidearms has the potential to fit into a build differently, because the call has heal clip and incandescent, I slotted it into my old solar build where I used drang and it’s been an amazing fit that the other two couldn’t fit. But in the same breath I’d wanna try a god rolled indebted in my old arc build because the volt shot would fit really well and the other two sidearms just wouldn’t.
I love abberant since it works great with solar, also I like to keep my first slot open for Khovostov or Outbreak. I cant tell how good ind. is bc I dont have the lightfall dungeon key.
I believe God Rolls are subjective for this archetype; I've been using Indebted Kindness with Beacon Rounds & Adagio, and I like it better than my Voltshot roll. Still figuring out Abherant Action, since I don't think EVERY Solar weapon I have needs Heal Clip+Incandescent. As for The Call, I like Slice & Golden Tricorn.
Haven’t gotten this roll yet but I’ve been really curious about lfg and permeability on indebted, as a big gyrfalcon enjoyer I feel like it could be really good
I don't really know what it is (maybe the firing animation or sound) but I don't really like the solar one even fully enhanced, but the call feels great.
Voltshot is just so strong on these sidearms. Incandescent works well but I still think the perk is pretty overrated. Like you stated even in grandmaster activities these kill quickly enough to proc voltshot whenever you want. Not to mention it also adds significant single target damage to help with champs etc. So I just haven’t been able to main any other rocket sidearm over Indebted. I do think any sizable nerf will really hurt these weapons though.
You messed heavy with the call. Desperate measures is amazing in combination with the warlock prismatic lightning melee. Doing it in a group of ads cause devour to be activate and 3x DMG increase.
For me Indebted kindness- beacon rounds + volt The call- lead from gold + O4A Abarrent action- heal clip+ incandescent Only problem about indebted is that its not craftable
aberrant is best for going balls to the wall clearing ads and staying alive. While indebted kindness is best at a more sustained gameplay because of lead from gold. And the call is just a better version of indebted kindness. Basically they do the same thing in a different way so just pick your poison.
It's not a question that it's indebted unless you're running a solar subclass or strand threadling build. Or if you're coping hard because you don't want to farm a dungeon encounter...
@Redlight77 the extra 5 reload for impulse amplifier might help a bit, but I don't think the extra second or two for voltshot timer makes any difference on this weapon. I'm not sure the enhanced perks would make too much of a difference for it

The call with 'Subsistence + one for all' melts everything
Indebted kindness for me with lead/voltshot
But I love the other two too😅
I find myself using AA alot more I think incandescent is feeling really good but the call is my most used I have demo and ofa.
Nah, the best comes down to Voltshot, but your build can make one of the other two preferable.
I went pugilist - incandescent love that roll
Been waiting for someone to make this
The call with hatchling is something else😅
As a warlock, I prefer indebted over aberrant because I have perma devour, so the healing aspect of aberrant isn't useful
You messed heavy with the call. Desperate measures is amazing in combination with the warlock prismatic lightning melee. Doing it in a group of ads cause devour to be activate and 3x DMG increase.
Thats such a good point why tf do trace rifles suck so bad compared to the sidearms. Up their ammo economy they should be as consistent.
Aberrant action with incandescent is gross overkill. Needing A couple extra shots isn’t gonna kill you. I think the god roll is heal clip demo.
For me
Indebted kindness- beacon rounds + volt
The call- lead from gold + O4A
Abarrent action- heal clip+ incandescent
Only problem about indebted is that its not craftable
For me? Abarrent Action because it cost me nothing since I sold some Steam items and bought the pass in D2 lol
i love my indebted kindness
Impulse/Voltshot forever
aberrant is best for going balls to the wall clearing ads and staying alive. While indebted kindness is best at a more sustained gameplay because of lead from gold. And the call is just a better version of indebted kindness. Basically they do the same thing in a different way so just pick your poison.
The call is completely separate from the solar and arc variant simply due to its slot
I have 25k kills on a Beacon Rounds + Voltshot Indebted kindness. Never missing a shot and having fast reloads makes it shred.
Lead from gold + adagio, better than nothin and i like it
adagio is a really slept on perk for indebted. i have an offhand strike + adagio roll that i use more often than my voltshot roll
@gothiclb Good to know. I have an adagio roll that's been sitting in my vault because it's not voltshot. Must take it out and try it.
Indebted kindness is still King IMO for being able to stun overloads
I see a huge hit from the nerf bat on rocket sidearms once Bungie peaks in profits from TFS.
Lots of good thought.
Im siding with the call because its in the kinetic slot.
I hope they come out with a legendary void rocket sidearm that would be dope
The exotic from the newest dungeon is a void rocket sidearm forgot what it was called
Great vid guy
The purple one will be the best.
we have a purple one lol
I need a Void destabilizing round, & Repulsor Brace rocket sidearm, in an upcoming episode.
I want a stasis one with cyro rounds, kills release a freezing blast. Freezing…not slowing. Let’s get it done Bungie
@@SirOtterzDamn, yea… I need that one too!
practically, the solar and arc side arms are just better. but u cant beat the slot placement the call has
Sidearms are the actual HAND CANNONS of D2 and I hate it😂
We need more special ammo Hand cannons
Don't sleep on offhand strike and VS. it's so good because you don't really need to ads
indebted kindness is the goat no question
Now we just need void, stasis
It's not a question that it's indebted unless you're running a solar subclass or strand threadling build. Or if you're coping hard because you don't want to farm a dungeon encounter...
Ya but you can’t put enhanced perks on it tho
@Redlight77 the extra 5 reload for impulse amplifier might help a bit, but I don't think the extra second or two for voltshot timer makes any difference on this weapon. I'm not sure the enhanced perks would make too much of a difference for it
the solar one is good with pugilist/incandescent, especially with the ember of searing fragment for melee regen
@@philipt2798impulse gives 20 reload
@@thestateofyum6991 yup, that one is great on a solar build, especially. Can build into killing scorched enemies to regen abilities
We need a void and stasis rocket sidearms.
Buried bloodline is a rocket sidearm too
Dear Bungie. When you nerf these sidearms, don't kill them completely
No burried blood line?
I don't think that's a rocket sidearm
It is, but that's an exotic. Not a fair comparison
@@trentrodriguez592it is just exotic. It’s coded as one just has different looks for aesthetics
@@trentrodriguez592it sure is one
@@Hydravine indebted kindness kinda feels like an exotic, tbh
Stasis and void rocket pistols when
10 range on aberrant hurts it a lot in my opinion
The Call because I am in my Graviton Lance + Edge transit phase now.
Otherwise if using Outbreak, Aberrant action.
The call for me
The call because you can craft and its darkness
Not comparing buried bloodline the 🐐
Why. Do. You space out. Everything. You. Say. ?
Rocket sidearm baby woooooo 🤩🤩🤩
If a certain solar sniper rifle did not exist, then which would you choose? IK right :)
I think Buried Bloodline is the best.
