  • One final shot to pull out the million dollar parcel didn't quite pay off this year but never the less we did find a nice haul of Australian Opal!
As the heat hits White Cliffs and the temperature becomes nearly unbearble I go for one last dig underground in the mine we have been working on setting up now for quite some time. Using an old hoist borrowed from Carl Grice from the 'Poms Crew' on outback opal hunters I continue my battle against the earth shifting one shovel full of dirt away at a time until fining some beautiful colour!
I wish I had started filming earlier but I wanted to see if it would be worth the extra effort to document a good find! by the time it had picked up and I decided to film the opal all but ran out! though at the end of the day we still found a nice little haul of gems! hopefully enough to fund the start of our next season!
