What do you suggest, to saturate individual tracks on mixing stage or on mastering?
So much precious tip!!, one that we dont have excess to most times. Thank you!! Now i got a insight on how i need to see those thd( if i refer right😅). I should go explore my stock plugins.
have one question. I recently bought the redd 17 made by abbey road. Do i have to see it as saturation plug in? Can i use it as stereo widener during masterting since it has mid side option. I should have bought the abbey road saturator.
Thanks for watching! It looks like that plugin is a combination of saturation, EQ, and mid side processing - that said, you could use it for all of those things. So I'd see it as a multi-effects plugin that emulates a classic console.

Lots of useful information, but it would have been nice to hear examples of the different types of saturation.
Hey weeschwee! Thank you for your comment - we agree! We've started adding more listening examples in our latest videos. Maybe in the future we'll create a similar video that provides some examples of saturation types.
Thanks!
SageAudio.com
@@sageaudio that would be helpful. I feel like saturation is one of the hardest subjects for me.
Do I need just one saturation plug-in in my mic channel strip or do I need multiple stages of saturation (comp, EQ, etc.) for best results?
Thanks for watching Josh! It depends! For example if the recording has some saturation already from the pre, then maybe only 1. If you want a more saturated sound maybe combine tape and tube distortion. Lots of variables so hard to say what's best!

gg my g
To be more pro you should put more ads and make the background music louder or saturated this apart nice vid thanks

I've associated that first piece so much with Renegade Cut I thought you might start talking leftist theory in movies, haha! Excellent matter-of-fact video though. I wish more of youtube was like this.
Analog for saturation. It can be pushed harder.
Transistor & Transformers are not the same, either as a components or saturation
Bro could you mix and master my track?
Hey Tovni! We could absolutely master it for you! Send it to us here: www.sageaudio.com/register.php
You got it wrong...again. Compression and saturation reduces dynamics not dynamic range. Dynamic range is a property of a channel or storage format. Dynamics are the differences between loud and soft volumes. Like ppp vs fff in music.
Thanks for watching Brian! I use the term 'Dynamic Range' as the term for the difference between the loudest and quietest parts of the signal. It might not be the absolute most technically correct way to use the term, but it is a pretty common way it's used.

Background noise, ( you probably think it's music ) is poxy, annoying and distracting. Get rid of it.
Hey Aidan! Thanks for watching the video! Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the background music - hopefully you still learn something from the video!

@@sageaudio I didn't learn a thing, the music distracted me so much I couldn't watch it.
