2007 and older Ford F250 steering wheel controls, save yourself money, don't buy a SWC canbus

  • For the 2007 and older Ford F250 F350 and possibly other models, you do NOT need a PAC audio, Axxes, Metra SWC converter/canbus adapter... For these trucks, it's a complete waste of money, as you still have to wire it, for one, and the box is pointless.
All it is, is one wire from your radio harness, and connecting it to the Key1 wire of your new head unit.
This may be also good for newer ford's as well, but I do know for a fact that this will work for the 2007 and older models.
It works off of resistance, and I believe all vehicles use the same method.
The wire yiu are looking for is wire #18 on your radio harness. It will always be #18, but the wire may be a different color, depending on the model.

Thank you for this great video. I’m doing my 06 king ranch soon and will be using the same style radio from atoto.

Atoto is nice, and seems to be the goto for the F250 croud, but, in my opinion, I have installed both, and prefer Joying, as it sounds better. It also comes with Torque Pro. Atoto is a solid HU as well, but Joying looks better and sounds better.

Not sure I'd get the rotatable again. Literally the only thing I use it for is Tictok, lmao, as it's the only app tbat uses portrait as it's default

Did you ever do a video on a console build? I've got a 16 F550 single cab I need to do.

So we don't need to connect the ground??

Well, yes if your speaking of the head unit, but if you are talking about the key wire, no. Just wire it into the wire in pin 18. Then program it in the SWC learn area.

It's a Joying 13.3" rotating screen. It's a little big, but I love it so far. Sounds awesome, and it's an android.

The new Snapdragon 2023 android 12 unit is better. The reason I bought the 13.3" was because I figured, with the big arse screen, I'd be able to navigate it better in vehicle. But with bigger screen, they up the resolution, making everything smaller on it. Icons, text, buttons, in app, everything is tiny.
The new units use a better resolution combination with the screens, while it doesn't hinder video quality, it makes navigating it much more pleasing.
