Yaphet Kotto and Jane Seymour were incredible in this too, along with everyone else! Can’t wait for you to see Moore 😅🎉

Roger Moore was one of the loveliest, most honourable men you could ever hope to meet. He was so funny too. Read his autobiographies and you’re reassured by how funny and kind he is. He and Lois Maxwell were lifelong friends.
Hello, Ms. Jen! "Live And Let Die" was the very first Bond film I saw as a boy, and for that very reason, Roger Moore was always the definitive Bond for me. @Jen Murray And guaranteed, more fun in the next. Watch for a returning "guest" in The Man With The Golden Gun which Bond teams up with one, no scratch that, THE BEST car stunt ever. Also falls right next to the best stunt chariot race ever in Ben Hur starring Charlton Heston!! Another must watch.
A rare Bond film where John Barry didn't score it. George Martin the Beatles producer who produced Live and Let Die for Paul did it. An excellent job too
The theme song, Live and Let Die, isn't a Beatles song. The Beatles had already broken up by this point, and the song was written and composed by Paul McCartney and his new band, Wings, which he formed with his wife, Linda McCartney.
This is the first Bond film I saw as a kid and the graveyard/voodoo scene scared the hell out of me. Also, fun fact; The boat jump across the road was in the Guinness book of world records for the longs boat jump.
I'm glad you found Roger Moore and the song as your favourite. Since it came out in 1973, I was 10 at the time and also watched it as my first James Bond. Roger, the song and the movie, have never stopped being my favourite.
I loved the reaction when you realised that Paul McCartney & Wings' song was actually the theme to this. It is definitely my favourite of all the themes. I ma not surprised you liked the music too; it was written & arranged by the Beatles' producer, George Martin.
As I've mentioned earlier, I do like this concept where you can see the reactions of a 007 movie 'watcher' who is seeing the movie for the first time and see parts of the Bond film at the same time as well. I like the humor and I can also appreciate the fact that you really pay a lot a attention to the music score which normally doesn't get that much attention, unfortunately. So, thx for these videos and have fun watching all the other 007 adventures!
David Hedison who plays Felix, was a star on his own....he was the lead in the Lost World, and then played on the TV version of Voyage to the Bottom f the Sea as Captain Crane, with Richard Basehart [Admiral Nelson] about the super submarine, complete with commi spys, sea monsters and aliens and ghosts from 1964-68. He them guested on TV and movies. He and Roger Moore were friends from doing British TV together, McCartney's title song went to #1 on the charts in 1973.
Oh no, you mentioned Ben Hur. Should u see that?? By all means, YES YES. Hint: It's the perfect Easter movie. And if u want to see stunts, the chariot race is the biggest and greatest ever to be captured on film. You won't believe it was filmed in 1960, has one of the greatest stories ever told. Again, it is a must watch, a bucket's list to watch and all that and Charlton Heston is superb to watch.
5:53 - Roger Moore was 45 when he began playing James Bond in 1973's 'Live and Let Die', 46 when he starred in the following year's 'The Man With the Golden Gun', 49 by the time 1977's 'The Spy Who Loved Me' rolled around, and 51 by the release of 1979's James Bond movie, 'Moonraker'. He was 58 when he announced his retirement in 1985, having played the part for over 12 years.
Roger is my favorite Bond, and I say that as someone who started the series off with Daniel Craig! You're in for a treat with his films: nobody does it better!
missed this when it first dropped but this was the first Bond movie I ever saw. My family taped it off of the television back in the 90s, I found the tape one day (when I was about 7 years old) and had heard of Bond through pop-culture, but this was the first time I actually saw a genuine James Bond film. To this day I cite it as the quintessential Bond film with all the best cliches thrown in. Gadgets, a great villain, exotic locations, love-interests who have actual depth, excellent stunts, and easily the best James Bond we've ever had, portrayed by Roger Moore.
My last rewatch for today, Jen. I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction, and I loved your pussycat too, who I saw in the background after the film reaction ended.
I don’t why but I always laugh when M looks around Bond’s flat at the beginning. He’s acting like the nosy dad who’s making sure his son isn’t doing anything wrong.
Loved the commentary to this one explaining how he was consistently unlucky for the first part of the film as a new bond and not invincible. Earning people’s respect as a Bond. This is how a new Bond should be introduced.
May not be everyone's favorite, but Roger Moore was my favorite Bond. Perhaps it was because I was so young when his movies were coming out and use to always pretend I was him in my own 007 imagination. I also loved the music from his era of films the most. The Spy Who Loved Me with the great Carly Simon's "Nobody Does it Better", then "For Your Eyes Only" by Sheena Easton, and finally "All Time High" by Rita Coolidge for Octopussy. Looking forward to your future 007 experiences!
@@jenmurrayxo If you like Roger, you would enjoy the 60’s British TV series, The Saint. There are several episodes here on RUclips. Also, The Persuaders, a one season early 70’s TV series with him and Tony Curtis, also found on RUclips. Moore started Bond right after that. Love your reaction videos.
I'm glad you liked Roger. Before Bond, he was another iconic character, Simon Templar in The Saint on TV. The Saint is very smooth, debonair, and witty. Roger brought this style into his Bond. I believe he even kept the same tailor from The Saint for this first Bond movie...
"I think I already like him as Bond! O my god, I like it already! This is my kinda Bond!" I love the wacky and wild Roger Moore era! He gets some great villains (RIP to Yaphet Kotto), the best henchfolk, hilarious gadgets, killer songs, and gorgeous girls. And Moore does it all with style despite his advanced age. In the Roger Moore era the producers decided they had to keep up with the cinematical trends of the time, so here we have Blacksploitation and in the next "The man with the golden gun" you have kung fu. The composer John Barry comes back with a 70s action packed score! I personally enjoy the film a lot but most critics prefer the next 1977 "The spy who loved me" . Curious to have your opinion!
Not to mention that in the next Bond film you have the iconic Christopher Lee (Dracula, Count Dooku, Saruman) going head to head with Bond as his equally matched rival....Fun fact - Christopher Lee was actually Bond author Ian Fleming's real life cousin and they would occasionally golf together until Fleming's passing in 1964. Lee said in later in interviews that he had a lot of fun (both on and off the set) with Roger while making the movie....and if you ever saw the original TV series Fantasy Island (which ran from 1978-1984) another 'little' character actor from that show plays one of the leads in that Bond film. You're in for a treat Jen 😎👍
more James Bond, let's go..! Roger Moore will always be the baseline James Bond for me, the first Bond movie I ever watched was Moonraker when I was like 10 years old :>
Moore is my favorite Bond, but Brosnan is a very close second because Goldeneye was the first Bond I saw in a theater. I think the most iconic Bond will always be Connery, however. I can't wait to see your reactions to some of the characters coming up in the next few Bond movies! I absolutely love these reactions from you!
Forget Netflix. I’ve been binge watching your 007 reactions 😂I do have a question though, where do I find a lady who loves the Bond movies as much as you do?!! 😍
Yes! You should watch "Ben Hur". One of Hollywood's most iconic films, with a powerful performance by Charlton Heston. The chariot race scene is one of the most famous in film. You could work it in for Easter if you wanted. I think this was Roger Moore's strongest performance as Bond, he has a harder edge in this movie than in the following ones. If you like quips you're going to love Roger Moore. If you did a 'quip-counter' like your Bond girl counter it would probably explode. It got a bit old towards the end for me. After him they went back to more serious Bonds. His Bond films are still fun, I think you'll like them.
a 21 year old Jane Seymour playing Solitaire...I've always said I'd like to "see more" of Jane Seymour lol....She became a great actress. I saw this film in the Theater at age 17...had the soundtrack album...big fan of former Beatles member Paul McCartney who wrote and did the theme song [producer George Martin wrote the movie score and the orchestra parts for the hit single] for Live nd Let Die, went to #1, his second #1 in 1973. With his new group of the 1970's called Wings. Jane Seymore is about 73.
Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU! I'm so glad to see you drop back into the Bondiverse! Each actor has a different take on the character. Watch them all and decide which one YOU like best! I only ask that you watch them all, because I want to watch you react to the all!
Roger Moore was the original choice to play Bond, but was under contract in a British TV series called The Saint .next is The Man With The Golden Gun.I'm sure you will like the theme song to that one too.
Great reaction Jen. Roger is the Bond of my youth. He's definitely quippier than Sean. Many of my favorite Bond girls worked with Roger. I am thinking you just might like the villain in MWTGG. Won't spoil it for you, but he is a Superstar. After that you will get to my favorite Bond of all time. It was also the first one I ever saw. So that might have something to do with it. And your reaction to the music was awesome. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
15:14, that stunt took the stuntman 6 times to do. This movie had one of the most iconic boat chases during the day. You should always watch the dvds as they always come with a bunch of special features. Of course, the great RUclips has some. Also, I'm just loving that you are continuing Bondy. You will have so much fun. The next one, The Man With The Golden Gun is next with one of the greatest actors playing the villain. Moore's ultimate fan favorite though will be The Spy Who Loved Me with the most unforgettable henchman ever. Also, the actor, David Hedison who played Felix Leiter here will return as Felix Leiter in a future Bond movie. Just keep going. I'm enjoying your Bondy reactions. Now, if only the reactors, TBR SCHMIDT would continue with the Dirty Harry series I would be in RUclips heaven.
Can't remember how many times I watched this at the movie theater when it came out... It's the greatest boat chase scene. "We got a regular Ben-Hur down here doing 95 minimum" "Secret agent... ON WHO'S SIDE" 😆😆
One of the great bonuses to James Bond is the transitions through the decades. Watching culture within movies change. From Gold to heroin, from taking over the World to outright crime. The fashions, the music and the language. The car is next.
Loving your Bond reactions, This was the first Bond film I saw at the cinema when I was 13 and still one of my faves. Looking forward to your next one.
A fun fact for ya, this is the only movie where Bond might have actually encountered the supernatural, through Baron Samedi, the painted man at the show, who later is knocked into the snake filled coffin and finally appears again alive on the back of the train, he is a powerful Lwa or Loa, essentially a voodoo god, he being the Lwa of the Dead
Like Roger Moore bond as well. So great seeing you watch this. This movie has a special place for me. Was one of the first non-Disney movies I saw. The flaming skull on the movie screen kind freaked me out but loved the movie for sure.
Glad you enjoyed the start of the Rog era, the stunts and gadgets get even more fun as the films go on! Favorite Miss JennyPenny quotes from this one were... "That was his flying scarf he doesn't need it anymore" and "RIP Cake".
Another movie that's awesome that starts with separate stories around the globe is the underrated "Sorcerer," a very macho adventure film with an excellent synth score by Tangerine Dream.
Welcome to the over-the-top-ness of the Moore era! Glad to see you're still enjoying your journey through Bond! Side note, you should go into character and do a future Bond reaction as Evil Jen!

Bond is not a "honky", he is a "Bondy", quote by Jen.
Lol thanks, I had fun with this one ☺️👍
@Jen Murray And guaranteed, more fun in the next. Watch for a returning "guest" in The Man With The Golden Gun which Bond teams up with one, no scratch that, THE BEST car stunt ever. Also falls right next to the best stunt chariot race ever in Ben Hur starring Charlton Heston!! Another must watch.
@@scottjo63 but that horrible slide whistle!! 🥺🥺🥺😥
YES! You should see Ben-Hur (1959). The modern one is closer to the book, but not as engaging and the acting is sub par.
A rare Bond film where John Barry didn't score it. George Martin the Beatles producer who produced Live and Let Die for Paul did it. An excellent job too
1:51 Paul McCartney and WINGS performed this song! And Gun's N Rose's did a cover version in 1991.
I'm sorry, but Rose's version doesn't hold a candle to McCartney's.
The theme song, Live and Let Die, isn't a Beatles song. The Beatles had already broken up by this point, and the song was written and composed by Paul McCartney and his new band, Wings, which he formed with his wife, Linda McCartney.
And the rest of the soundtrack was composed by his old Beatles producer, George Martin.
This is the first Bond film I saw as a kid and the graveyard/voodoo scene scared the hell out of me. Also, fun fact; The boat jump across the road was in the Guinness book of world records for the longs boat jump.
Oh cool!
The difference is an alligator will see you later, a crocodile will see you in a while.
Another Fun reaction Jen
Also since you asked
The original Ben Hur 1959 is definitely worth watching.
Such amazing music & theme!! ☺️👍🎶
Thanks Frank! ☺️👍
Hey Jen, have you ever watched any of the making of documentaries that are included for each movie?
Nope
Looking forward to more Moore ☺️👍
missed this when it first dropped but this was the first Bond movie I ever saw.
Paul McCartney had a SMASH hit in this theme song!!
Love it! ☺️👍🎶
With good reason! Its a fantastic song!
My last rewatch for today, Jen. I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction, and I loved your pussycat too, who I saw in the background after the film reaction ended.
So glad you’ll never have to see Sheriff J.W. Pepper ever again! 😂
I don’t why but I always laugh when M looks around Bond’s flat at the beginning. He’s acting like the nosy dad who’s making sure his son isn’t doing anything wrong.
Love your channel. Kind of like Dr. No. Agents getting killed, we see Bonds apt,and back to the Caribbean.
Thanks Robert! ☺️👍
Also... HIGHLY recommend the "Best of Bond, James Bond" music CD with all the great Bond music hits.
The crocodile stunt was a legit stunt with a real man actually hopping across live crocodiles. Amazing stuff.
Oh yeah! What a treat. A mid-afternoon matinee with the lovely and effervescent Jen. And it a bondy to boot.
☺️👍🐊
@@jenmurrayxo 🙌
Jen saying “honky” multiple times! 😂
Oh that 70s slang!
Roger Moore's Bond is CHARMING and somewhat light-hearted, Very likeable
Totally! ☺️👍
Fun Fact. Paul was originally supposed to do soundtrack for Diamond Are Forever the previous film.
I'm glad you liked Roger. Before Bond, he was another iconic character, Simon Templar in The Saint on TV. The Saint is very smooth, debonair, and witty. Roger brought this style into his Bond. I believe he even kept the same tailor from The Saint for this first Bond movie...
A family friend was a Stunt driver for 2 Bond movies. He said Roger Morre was the nicest person and treated everyone with respect.
Roger Moore previously starred in the TV series, "The Saint." The later movie adaptation starred Val Kilmer and Elizabeth Shue.
I think Moore was first choice for 007 even over Connery -- but he was contractually obligated to stay with "The Saint".
Geoffrey Holder, who played Baron Samedi, was also in many commercials for 7 Up back in the day.
"I think I already like him as Bond! O my god, I like it already! This is my kinda Bond!"
I love the wacky and wild Roger Moore era! He gets some great villains (RIP to Yaphet Kotto), the best henchfolk, hilarious gadgets, killer songs, and gorgeous girls. And Moore does it all with style despite his advanced age. Can't wait for more Moore 😉
Great Reaction, as always, and as Roger Moore was born 3 miles from me, in South East London,I love his wit and charm as Bond.
He rose to fame because an older famous British Singer married him and paraded him around Hollywood but he REALLY hit the jackpot in Britain as the suave, debonair lead character in "THE SAINT" and played that role, brilliantly, for years. The rest is history:)
Roger was the most self-deprecating Man in a Nation of UK "Self Deprecators" and never took himself serious;y. You will love him, Jen😇
Looking forward to it! ☺️👍
Roger Moore was my fav growing up. Loved your reaction to his debut Bond movie! :)
more James Bond, let's go..!
Roger Moore will always be the baseline James Bond for me, the first Bond movie I ever watched was Moonraker when I was like 10 years old :>
Roger Moore is super cool! 😎👍
I absolutely love how you are watching all the James Bond movies
Loving them all! ☺️👍
Yes!! More Bond reactions!😃 Need Moore 007
☺️👍
Hearing Jen say “Honkey” 😂
Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU! I'm so glad to see you drop back into the Bondiverse! Each actor has a different take on the character. Watch them all and decide which one YOU like best! I only ask that you watch them all, because I want to watch you react to the all!
That stunt with him ( aka a stuntman) running across the crocodiles was the real deal just like the world record boat stunts that came soon after ✌️🙂
Roger Moore is my favorite Bond. Great reaction Jen.
I love Roger!! 😎👍
Roger Moore was the original choice to play Bond, but was under contract in a British TV series called The Saint .next is The Man With The Golden Gun.I'm sure you will like the theme song to that one too.
"Sexy double crossers never make it." This is why I love your reactions to these films 😂
"Sexy double crosses never make it".
Rosie never made it ending up slain on the ground with a corpse stare!!9:41
Thanks for the reaction, I love a good Bond film. Just an fyi, alligators are in the Americas, crocodiles are in Africa, Asia, and Australia
Oh cool! Well these villains had both #VillainGoals 😂👍
@@jenmurrayxo I mean, if it was a farm and not in the wild . . . they could be raising crocodiles in Louisiana.
A better test is to see if they respond to "after 'while" or "see ya later".
I couldn’t believe it that Jane Seymour was 21-22 years old like she was young when this came out
Great reaction Jen.
Sheriff J.W. Pepper, he also played that chaacter in the man of the golden gun (1974)
One of my favorite Bond lines
Roger Moore was the second best James Bond after Sean .
Can't remember how many times I watched this at the movie theater when it came out...
It's the greatest boat chase scene.
"We got a regular Ben-Hur down here doing 95 minimum"
"Secret agent... ON WHO'S SIDE" 😆😆
Thank you for sharing your reaction to another James Bond movie.
☺️👍🐊
@@jenmurrayxo The crocodile image was a nice touch. I enjoyed interacting with them and their cousins.🙂
Growing up it was also my favorite theme song (In a way to this day too). When the action
starts amazing stuff!!!!!
This was my first Bond film when I was a kid. Loved it so much, I made sure to see all the older Bond films. I'm so glad you liked it!
My second rewatch for today, Jen, I'm glad that you enjoyed your first Roger Moore 'Bond' film. On to the next now.
Woo hoo here we go Miss Murraypenny!😊
☺️👍
A fun fact for ya, this is the only movie where Bond might have actually encountered the supernatural, through Baron Samedi, the painted man at the show, who later is knocked into the snake filled coffin and finally appears again alive on the back of the train, he is a powerful Lwa or Loa, essentially a voodoo god, he being the Lwa of the Dead
Like Roger Moore bond as well. So great seeing you watch this. This movie has a special place for me. Was one of the first non-Disney movies I saw. The flaming skull on the movie screen kind freaked me out but loved the movie for sure.
Roger Moore's autobiography MY WORD IS MY BOND is a great read. He wasn't just playing a gentleman. He *was* a gentleman. I miss him.
My favorite of the Moore era - 70's blaxsploitation style, voodoo, drug$, and one of the best theme songs of the whole series.
