What is Jurassic Park III (2001) about?
Return to the action-packed world of prehistoric dinosaurs in Jurassic Park III where man is up against dangerous predators in the ultimate battle for survival. Adventure runs wild when renowned paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) agrees to accompany a wealthy couple (William H. Macy and Téa Leoni) on an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, InGen’s former breeding ground for prehistoric creatures. After they are terrifyingly stranded, Dr. Grant soon discovers that his hosts are not what they seem and the island’s native inhabitants are smarter, faster, fiercer and more brutal than he ever imagined. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, this visually stunning blockbuster features all-new dinosaurs and special effects that you need to see to believe.

"Alright, we just landed, now remember, almost everything on this island wants to eat us"
"Ok...anyway, pass me the megaphone"
😂
WHATS A BAD IDEA??
I'm just weirded out that they only brought two people with guns. How did they think that was going to work out after the second film?
this is why you resist the urge to talk to hot girls when they're dumb. Life doesnt have plot armor. That dumb girl will be the death of you one day if you get "lucky"...
@@Frankmore07 IIRC they were actually bankrupt, they had to lie just to get Dr. Grant to even come to the island. So they probably spent what little money they had to hire the gunmen.
In the past everyone arguing the third is the worst of all. After 'fallen kingdom' and 'dominion' this looks like pure gold.
Agreed
@@sueperglue8847 cause of Sam Neill right
Fallen Kingdom wasn’t bad. Dominion was terrible. Lost World is still the worst of the entire franchise.
So y’all liked Jurassic world even tho chris pratt trained raptors like dolphins at sea world?
That is what I most repudiated of that "supposed new saga" of JW. Train dinosaurs removing the terrifying factor. Here's the decline.
My favorites from JP (for good memories) will always be the first and second. The latter i have a pleasant appreciation; the tributes to the old cinema of monsters (T Rex in the city), the Spielberg stamp was maintained and the essence and atmosphere was cool as in the entire original trilogy.
P.S. 'Fallen kingdom' is a disaster in its script and very predictable. Wanting to emulate what was done with "The Lost World" in some things. It is a fallen as it is.
They really went to Island full of dinosaurs and started to disregard all the advices from the expert, is a miracle that aside from Alan and Eric the others survived.
Sadly even ignoring the Jurassic World trilogy real world people are still repeating the exact same mistake today and blaming the experts to boot!
It's the sinlge most accurate thing in the movie
Amanda had some really strong plot armor
In these movies the experts foolhardily tampered with these for science... and profit.
The experts were involved in business espionage and sabotage resulting in their escaping confinement.
The experts did what we'll call gain of function research to make even deadlier versions, for profit.
In the case of Jurassic Park movies, there are benevolent experts like Dr. Grant, misguided experts like Dr. Wu in the recent trash, unethical/evil experts like Dr. Dodgson, and foolhardy "experts" like John Hammond.
If only it were so easy as trusting the experts.
They disregard common sense too
The mercenaries barely last a day on the island. But the couple make it through the whole movie.
Luck in tye form of plot armor
because they stay with expert...
Fate, protects fools and children.
Uh same can be said for Grant and Elle in the last movie
Cause nothing is stronger than family
This scene haunted me as a child. Just the idea of having to leave someone to die. It was a completely new concept to me. I pictured myself in his shoes, and I pictured myself in the pilot's shoes as well and I couldn't decide. It was my introduction to moral ambiguity.
Hello fellow hodgetwins fan
I think even if they did stop, the Dino would have gotten him

@@imaverageatgamesbutimostly3431 he definitely could’ve survived in the island if he kept running or hid as you said. The spinosaurus is by far one of the most aggressive and viscous apexes in the entire JP series, so cooper only getting his arm cut AND while he was by himself is really impressive.

Like seeing an old friend?
@@dinkumthinkum4247 do you not know how horror movies work?
So they kidnap the expert just to ignore everything he says? brilliant writing.
Well to be fair. The whole kinda beginning of the plot was the couple being stupid af, kidnapping a human, flying in a restricted zone with virtually no chance of communicating with others if things went wrong, just to look for one person.
They didnt listen to him because he said he wasnt on Site B, that may be the reason, also they were trying to find their kid so they had to land, its just that he knew dinosaurs so he could help them find Eric without dying
I'm guessing that Grant was pulled in for the reassurance of his involvement more than anything, they didn't really expect that his inputs would go completely against their interest. It's like, hiring the best lawyer expecting he would do magic, but turns out his best offer would have you give up on something you DON'T want to compromise on, ever.
People ignoring the experts is THE MAIN THEME of all these movies. If they actually listened, then we wouldn't have the movies we have concerning Dinos eating modern day humans. Brilliant writing!

*This movie had so many awesome scenes.*
The way the raptors injur one of the people, and leave him at the bottom of the tree, to lure the rest of the humans down.

This scene cracked me up. Everybody was getting ready with their guns all badass, then 30 seconds later… GET ON THE PLANE!!! HURRY!!!
You know it's bad when Alan is clearly worried because it's NOT a T-Rex 😅
This is my favourite opening of all the JP films, you can sense the helplessness and desperation of the guy they left behind, the fear from Nash while he runs up the plane into the pilot seat.
And also the fact that the name "Cooper" is also the guy who first got eaten by T-rex in my favourite Dino Crisis game brought a lot of emotions.
@jasonchan5504 there was an ACU Soldier called Cooper in Jurassic World, and he doesn't die. He is seen running towards the entrance as a couple of them are dragging a wounded ACU soldier. Those ACU soldiers survived.

@@jaredruff9823I think they're referring to the Jurassic World stuff which is basically a revival of the Jurassic Park franchise.
1:58 Come on, Cooper. Get outta the way! You know I can't stop this plane...
*Fun Theory:*
The plane propellers cut the dinosaur's neck which kills it....and the main dinosaur hunting them throughout the movie is actually the mate of the first one; seeking revenge.
It knows that they're the same ones who killed it's mate, because the mother character screams the entire movie, after letting the dinosaurs know what she sounded like through the megaphone when she first arrived.
The spinosaur hunts them because they killed it's mate, and the raptors hunt them because Billy stole an egg.
This kinda mirrors how the step-dad dies at the beginning, and the divorced parents work together to get their son back from the island.
Both the Humans AND Dinosaurs are dealing with the loss of a mate, and the retrieval of a lost offspring.
Now that's deep, would be cool it this was true.
Good theory.
Good theory if it can be confirmed that there were 2 Spinos on the island.

@neo-filthyfrank1347 Your opinion, not a choice you should make for everyone. For me, this is still a poorly written sequel.
@@RUclipsrofmylifethe best way I can describe this movie is the resident evil 3 equivalent of a Jurassic Park movie.
For me this is the second best Jurassic Park. This movie really tries to catch the feeling from the first movie and sometimes they really succeed. Though the movie had been much better if they had the Tyrannosaurus from the first and second movies. And sometimes the story is a bit to cheesy. But again, they really tried and they built their own Tyrannosaurus. And the Spinosaurus is up to this day one of the most impressive movie-creations. CGI cant compare with that at all.
This movie was released in 2001.
In 1999, Capcom released the PS1 game Dino Crisis, by Shinji Mikami, inspired, among other things, by the first two Jurassic Park movies. In the intro scene of the game, a man named Cooper is attacked by a big carnivorous dinosaur in a similar way as Cooper in JP3 (the main difference is that it was a T-Rex in the game, not a Spinosaurus).
Coincidence or homage, is up to the viewer, but it is worth mentioning that the first appearance of the Pteranodon in this movie is nearly identical with a scene from another game by Capcom, Resident Evil Code Veronica, released in 2000. Seems like one of the writers of JP3 really liked Capcom games.
Well remembered and in it's sequel dino crisis 2 released a year before the movie there's a fight between a trex and a Giganotosaurus

Guys for those who don't know....... the first roar was the baby nash and Uzanzski shot off of Cooper, the second roar was it's mother. They found the nest and a baby attacked, you can hear 2 different guns shooting and further than where they ran from you can clearly hear the deeper roar from further and then you can hear cooper's gun being shot at the mother. Nash and uzanzski was supposed to get the plane started while Cooper followed but the mother came and Cooper ran the opposite shooting at the mother to keep her away from the plane. He thought he lost her in the treeline and dashed for the run way hoping they could've stopped the plane but then...............the movie plays out.
As a kid Watching Jurassic Park 3 for the first time I always wondered how Dr grant could tell from the roar of the mysterious dinosaur that it was bigger than a Trex.
Now I don't wanna dive too deep into the question of a child but I would guess the roar being deeper in tone would imply a bigger and wider canal for the sound to pass meaning the whole animal is bigger, same difference you might find between a house cat and a puma.

What really amazes me is that Eric, a kid, survived on the Island for 8 weeks with limited supplies while Cooper, a trained mercenary with powerful weapons, doesn't even last 5 minutes before getting eaten! Also I felt sorry for Cooper, his fellow mercenaries abandoned him when he needed them the most and it costed him his life.

Oh c'mon in reality the weapon systems they're using would've dropped that Spinosaurus let alone any dinosaur. As much as I love the franchise, they seem so inconsistent with guns. In Lost World Ian is able to shoot a dart into the T-Rex neck and it penetrates but they can't kill a single dinosaur with a gun? If you think about it there are no scenes where dinosaurs are actually shot and killed...
Well dinosaurs are very tough. Even today with all our technology can you point out a single instance of a dinosaur being killed with a gun? It has never happened
In a world where Harambe is dead, Jurassic Park truly doesn't make sense. It's sad but true.
It's just so the movies can happen. Obviously, high-powered rifles could kill dinosaurs. It's even dumber in dominion where about 40 dinosaurs are freed in the end of fallen kingdom and then dominion opens like "dinosaurs have taken back the planet" in like 2 years smh...
