@@EatbookYT anytime bro 👊🏼
Abigail really carried the show with her wide vocabulary and eloquence. Spot on descriptions of texture, smell, experience, size, price, presentation, packaging etc. Gladys was a great conversational 'sparring partner' too.
havent watched but feeling too excited! next up: kaya butter toast / curry puff / angkukueh 😻😻😻
Love this duo!! Really informative😊
Wait till you guys try the super flaky, super buttery, super under the radar and underrated egg tarts from 50年 Taste of Tradition!
You will never eat other flaky Portuguese egg tarts ever again!
If you guys think egg tarts from tong Heng is bad, I don’t think I can trust your reviews.
Tong Heng egg tarts are the bombs
nahhhhh, my students bought us tong heng and tai cheong......I had tong heng first, and it was meh, making me not that excited to try tai cheong, but when I bit into tai cheong, it was BOMB.
Agree. People who don't like Tong Heng obviously shouldn't be reviewing any types of food.
Gabriel Ng, precisely.
So true. I felt like this guide is based on their taste, not based on if it is nice or not.
Hello, I always enjoy watching your amazing food recommendation videos. 😊 The egg tarts look so flavourful. 💜
Yea Fancy Delight was damn good! They used to have many locations but have closed down a lot of them and only 2 outlets are left in SG.
Thanks for this video was able to try a few places based on your video. Definitely my favorite from your video was Leong Sang, cookie crust, the pastry one was good too but i found it a bit too toasty.
I was able to try Tai Cheong as well and I liked it the most during my time in Singapore.
Glad you tried out the egg tarts & enjoyed them!! 😌
best braised duck rice, best yong tau foo, best nasi lemak, best tomyum soup (green curry also can)~
Gladys is such a natural in front of the camera. I love this pairing!! Gonna try Chloe’s Rec!!
I appreciate their reviews for being so sincere and truthful. I looking forward to more of your reviews! East side best side, though! 😁
Yeah fancy delights so nice. Sad they close their outlet in nex ...
I love that both mentioned Hong Kong when asked about their most memorable egg tart experience
As someone from HK though the non-flaky tart based egg tarts here in SG have grown on me~
My brother went to Singapore recently and commented how weird the portuguese egg tarts were over there. They're less sweet and the custard is more solid, he said the ones he ate tasted like a croissant with slightly sweet scrambled eggs lol. It's interesting to see how different these are to our portuguese pastel de nata!
when she took out the egg tart from her pocket HAHAHAHA
Currypuffs! but must at least try more than 10-15 diff shops! 😁
Episode for best Shen jian bao :)

champion bolo bun’s french cold tarte!!
Omg mee hoon kueh please! It’s my fave!
guys can you guys recommend where can i find the best chicken satay with the peanut sause!??
Brings me back to Belem! Chloe, if you like the flaky kind of egg tarts, you must find your way to Portugal some day! The quality is just different.
Pasteis de Belem isn't quite exactly the same as egg tarts. They are more "custard tarts" than egg tarts.
Yesss, I love leung sang!!!I used to love tong heng but honestly, and I'm sorry but standards have dropped unfortunately 😢
KFC’s Portuguese egg tart is the best!
Agree!
Looking fwd for Best traditional kopi n teh in sg? Hehe.. Thanks
There use to be a Macau store at nex selling nice egg tart but it close down dont know if they still exist in Singapore
mee hoon kway yes please! compare hand torn and machine one~ and their soup. hand torn best for me
Egg tart part 2 pls
Floss bun episode? (Maybe heh)
My favourites for Portuguese ones has to be 50 years Tradition available at many bus/mrt interchanges and KFC! For buttery ones, it has to be Tai Cheong!
can try 50 years tradition. their portugese egg tart was damn good
second this. very under rated and better than so many of the hyped up ones. the flaky crust is da bomb
Hi, i wanna ask Gladys if her fav egg tart is still Tai Cheong?? Cos i am a huge fans of Tai Cheong too!!! And the last egg tart is so surprising, i stayed near jurong pt but never interested in trying it. But right now, I can’t wait to try it !! Hehe 🤤
I LOVE TAI CHEONG & I STAND BY IT ✊ it will always be my no.1 🥹 please go try Mother-In-Law egg tarts, unique & tasty too!! - Gladys
Best crispy prata - ENAQ

Anybody knows if KFC still sells egg tarts? I rem a time they had Portuguese style ones for like $1 plus
Yes!
Best neighbourhood bakery's egg tarts will be from ibread. It's a cross between Portuguese and traditional. Portuguese egg tart filling with a cookie crust. Overall Tai Cheong is still best. No Joy luck please.
Please review kway chup, soup bah chor mee..
Wa how can don’t include Joy Luck Teahouse’s egg tarts. They the OGs man

Best ah balling / satay / sambal stingray / porridge / mee rebus / rojak (chinese and indian) / dimsum / caifan’s sweet n sour pork / nasi padang’s beef rendang and ayam goreng / vadai / thosai / butter chicken
Just made myself hungry after dinner. 😂
DAMN THANKS FOR THE LIST ROBIN 🙏
but it's egg tart. it's supposed to be eggy
Precisely why some ppl shouldn’t do reviews. Egg tart is too eggy 🙄 What next? Durian puff is too duriany? 🙄🙄🙄
Exactly
i mean spicy food can be too spicy. Mala can be too "Ma" or "La". Fish soup can be too fishy. Butter cookies can be too buttery. Must have balance mah
Eggy in the sense that it's too 腥. It has to do with the type of eggs and perhaps the recipe of the custard. I understand what she meant. Even plain chiffons or certain sponge cakes and kaya may have the eggy taste if it's not cooked correctly.
Tong Heng's flavour changed totally ever since the younger generation took over. A good 10-20 years back when I ate it, it's super yums!
Y’all should do 1 episode on OTAHHHHHHHHHHHH
Look for the best soon kueh please!
episode for ang ku kueh / tutu kueh
Tong Heng egg tart is the best! Pls reflect 😂
Best otah??
Do best nasi lemak
best ang ku kueh???
come let's do a chicken chop episode 🤗
best kway teoh in hawker centres/ food court
How about best sando?
😋
Maybe do a best roti prata in Singapore
Wah this is going to be hard to choose 🥺
Best liu sha bao pls 🤤
Where's the durian egg tart?
i think for egg tarts it varies depending on the crust, sweetness and also the eggy taste that is inside. Food has always been something that can be debate about as we all have different preference and taste on how we want. So to me, as long as its something you like, its always the bomb!
well said! 👏
My fav Au croissant was not covered 😢
you had one job to do: Tai Cheong Bakery egg tart.
and you didnt do it.
We wanted to but we also wanted to feature brands that not many know of :-)
best chai latte in sgp pls!
NOOOOO TONG HENG EGG TART IS MY ALL TIME FAV EGG TART MY DAD HAS BEEN BUYING IT FOR ME SINCE I WAS A KID. NOW THAT I LIVE ABROAD I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT IT AND WHENEVR I GO BACK TO SG I WILL DEFO GO TO CHINATOWN FOR SOME
Best nasi lemak in Singapore
cant trust this review, Tong Heng is one of the best egg tarts! hahaha
Recently tried leung sang ftom the bugis outlet n it was so underwhelming.. even my mum said it was bad. I don't think I can trust the reviews of someone who rated that as #1.. Tai Cheong, Tong Heng is much better..
maybe its the branch? the tanjong pagar one has yet to disappoint me so far....
@@lostinadulting hmm maybe
My loves! Please take note of the word ‘Jelak’. It derives from a Malay word. It’s not pronounced as ‘Jelat’. This applies to all videos as well. Sending you guys love and lots of support
Ah yes! Thank you for sharing with us :-)
BAK CHOR MEE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
please do mee hoon kuey
Wad they like are opposite of wad I dun like hahaha..those they say nice are not nice to me lol
The first stall owner....I don't think he is uncle-age yet lah.....looks to be late 20s early 30s. Aduh !!!
Ermmm… how can you honestly compare a legitimate egg tart and a mentaiko egg tart and say the latter is better? It’s like saying limes are better than lemons
Not a fan of Tong Heng's here. Don't fancy the crust and the egg custard taste diluted to me haha! Love Tai Cheong too. The best tarts I've tasted are from Hong Kong. The recent nice flaky tart I've tried was from JB, the popular Oriental store.
Obviously eatbook did not do enough homework for this episode.
