Depends on what you want to do with the aircraft. The Duke is basically handicapped by having to use engines it didn't want as the planned ones weren't proceeded with. From all accounts they need to be handled very gently and are maintenance hogs.
Havent gone down the tube in Australia, Beechcraft King Airs are used by the Royal Flying Doctor Services ( RFDS ) to transfer patients from too far to get to by car , so the RFDS uses the King Air all the time and or choppers of the wet season is upon us . Maybe the Duke has gone, cant say I am shedding any tears over it. Was not the nicest of planes to fly.
Wichita resident here. Don’t claim to be any expert but Beechcraft lost their shirt and pants on the Starship. As beautiful as it was, corporate jets such as the Citation’s and Lear’s expanding line stole much of the Starships thunder. Beech has a long storied history in Wichita. Walter and Olive Beech is was made Beechcraft a Beechcraft. In civil aviation no one compared. After Walter passed Olive carried on for quite sometime, but had no heirs that wanted to carry on the legacy. Then corporate kicked in and they lost their way and magic.
@@chrismoody1342...they stated going down hill when they ended their poicy of not making an airplane till it was sold...or creating bogus leasing companies to inflate the build numbers...i sat next to Olive Ann at the table next to Olive Ann when she was enshrined into the aviation hall of fame...have you seen a twin engine staggerwing or a T tailed bonanza???...i have
Chris Zaboji I am an instructor based out of KHEF. The flight school I work for has a location at KJYO though, so I get to fly into there every now and again. Was just there tonight actually!

@@chrismoody1342 That and they developed that Piece of Sh*t Premier 1. I'm sure they lost their ass on the thing.
El rey de los pistoneros...
VERY NICE.
Can somebody tell me how does the Duke feel compared to the Baron?
Pascal Chauvet Basically-Just heavier and more solid.
Sitting on the ramp it looks like it is doing 200 kts
Do you still operate out of KJYO?
Yes, This Duke is based at JYO
Chris Zaboji Beautiful aircraft. Is it privately owned?
It is, yes.
Where do you fly out of? Hard to guess looking at your videos
