    I came across this in the middle of one night when I couldn't get back to sleep, and couldn't find it later. I thought maybe I'd just dream it. The dream is real! Your layout is boss.

      Dear Craig, a few days ago I posted this video
      ruclips.net/video/bFMCNQCfbuY/видео.html
      in which I explain the work I did on the Bachmann PCCs to allow them to travel along very tight turns, which you also like much and which make tram networks in historic centers so special and interesting. I hope this video will be useful to you. The overhead line system and the tracks are original materials of the 'Rivarossi Tramway System' produced in the 1960s. Hello, Gianluigi

  • @lewisdsd

    Are they HO scale?
    Great turns!

    • @GF47MATH94
      @GF47MATH94  7 лет назад +5

      Yes, they are H0 scale. The curves radius is 10 cm, about 4 inches, that is equivalent to 8,7 m in reality. The tracks are 60' production by Rivarossi 'Tramway System'. I had to work very hardly on PCC Bachmann under frames and trucks to obtain they swivel on these radii well. Thank you very much for watching my videos and for your question. Also tanks for your videos on San Francisco's PCC where I have seen my favorite Peter Witts of my city Milano...Gianluigi

    I saw in some comments you mentioned you had to do some work on these to make them run on such tight curves. What did you do exactly to make this work? I'm looking to adding a trolly route to my Pittsburgh section of layout and would like some pointers.

      Dear 2011 scuba, I'm sorry if I am very late in answering your kind question about the work I did on the Bachmann PCCs to allow them to go through very small radius curves, but I hadn't looked at the posts on my youtube video anymore. Now I have edited this video

      which I hope will be useful to you. Ciao, Gianluigi

    • @gianluigi6380
      @gianluigi6380 3 года назад

      Dear Gleiswanderer,
      I bought the trolleys from EATON CUSTOM ENGINEERING (Rich Eaton-120 Ness Rd-Castle Rock, WA 98611-9398 US). The ebay site is: richeaton. Operating Trolley Poles come with Wheel or Slider and Hold down hook. I have tried many different brand trolleys, but these are definitely the best and work great.
      Ciao and tanks for watching.

    Bachmann really should have installed current keeps in these. Plenty of room.

    • @gianluigi6380
      @gianluigi6380 3 года назад

      You're right! Bachmann should have mounted operating trolleys on his PCCs ... and installed bodies lower on the trucks, as I had to do by working on the frames and interior of the bodies. Thanks for your comment and for watching. There is a video of mine on Bachmann Peter Witts on which I also installed operating trolleys instead of the unsuitable originals due to the wheel too large. is it the Milano livery on these cars?

    • @GF47MATH94
      @GF47MATH94  6 лет назад +2

      Yes, it is the old Milan livery (till '70) in two green tones: down 'verde vagone' and upper 'verde Veronese'.In '70 the Milan livery was orange and now returned the '20 livery: down yellow and upper creme, but only on 1500-2002 (Peter Witt) and 4600/4700. Thank for your question and watching. Gianluigi

    Why do the cars tilt when they go around corners

    • @GF47MATH94
      @GF47MATH94  6 лет назад +1

      The tilt effect is due to a little bit of interference between the body car and the trucks frame supports. This happens only on 'Rivarossi Tramway Track System' having a 10 cm radius that is in reality 8 m! The cars on a little as soon as larger corners does not tilting. Anyway thank you very much for watching and your specific question.Gianluigi

    Beautiful!! Have you used flexible track to make such tight turns?

    • @gianluigi6380
      @gianluigi6380 2 года назад +1

      Dear Gus, I have not used flexible track, but the original modular track, switch, crossing ad trolley wire pole by 'Rivarossi Tramway System' production in the 1960s. If you are interested you can see web-site Rivarossi Memory Tramway. Thank you for watching.
