The double replys that was made is correct . There is much more than that . The MZ250 is a high torq engine @ lower RPM range . They are long winded also . The engine is good up to 6,000 rpms at speed . You could get 30.000 miles out of the cylinder and rings . If you take care of things I heard you can get 60,000 miles before total over haul . Not one Japan 2 stroke could ever match that . The MZ TS250 stock is good @ 75 MPH . Tops out at 80MPH . With some porting and installing reeds with some tuning you can get even more speed . The problem is that early 250 engine crank case and cranks big ends was bushing not rollers so those engines have to be under a given RPM range . I think after 1975 that was replaced with rollers bearing on the big end .

How come your bike is so much faster in a straight line ?
I’m smaller and lighter and slipstream makes a huge difference.
