I’ve been wanting your videos recently and I think it’s pretty helpful now I haven’t put any of them into practice! I wanted to get your opinion on something. I’ve watched some couple videos and they say this works for everybody (same as about some other videos that your video ).
but it’s like everybody has different brains and learn different. I dyslexia myself and find it hard to remember stuff and etc…. Anybody with A learning disability or like dyslexia? Have any tips? Or does anyone know that this method works? I do want to try to see if it works. I’ve been trying to figure out some ways to do it! (I hope this isn’t a dumb question or anything!)
Hello Mike or Matty, I was wondering if you have any videos, or perhaps a course somewhere else, which is more in depth on how to make notes in levels 4 and 5, as well as something to help us test this. If not, would you have any suggestions on what I can do to improve my notetaking? Thanks, as, since I am a Tora, I learn more slowly, but I prefer learning more in-depth things in general, and grasping that knowledge for many months, or possibly years to come.
The thing is though, not everything is as conceptual as "digital marketing". There is stuff that you need to learn in between the lines to get grades- I mean yes, grades aren't everything, but when you're learning something for an exam, for example, understanding the main concepts won't be it.
Take for instance, a literature student. Sure, they can organise and map the "tale of two cities" but is that all? I think it should depend more on your learning style (i draw and transform the stuff thats being taught into pictures on spot, helps me.) and the content you're learning. Well ofc this was helpful but I think it's not all, ykykyk.😅
For getting better grades, the easiest and the most efficient method is to simply practices previous Qs from the test/ Qs similar to the Qs you get on the test. This works for MOST of the subjects, even non-stem subjects. Tho you might want to have a few crisp notes for reference sometimes.
Of course depends on your goals.
Application is always a must to verify your ideas. But this is a great way to get your brain thinking clearly with note taking
My biggest problem is not learning how to learn, but learning to do exams. I don't know how I can know the topic exactly, be sure to get the highest marks, but score like 5/7
Practice is like driving somewhere for the first time then visiting it 100 times. The exam is being able to drive the same route but at night and backwards. If you practice the material to where you learn the "why" behind "what" you're doing and "how" you're doing it, you'll truly master the topic and be able to kick ass on the exams
Point being, master the topic in full. It'll help if not entirely fix that
This is the biggest failure of the education system.
We are taught to learn how to take exams
Not how to learn to solve problems.
Go for the second option 10/10 times
Test anxiety is real. That may be the problem.
It's less to do with knowledge & applying it and more to do with handling the pressure of the exam.
Practice exams under exam-like conditions (e.g., timing, location) may help.
I've started university and I'm doing a certificate of ICT. I really used to get tired writing notes in secondary school and I want to write something that is specific but not long winded.
What note taking method is best for Chemistry? Any help please
Finally! The video I was waiting for months, tysm Mike and Matty. Truly do see the learning + earning more at level 5
The earn part always got me listening 👂🏽
Nice
This gonna help a lot, thnks
Hope so! What are you learning?

I use pictures for my notes. I also use my entertainment to make notes easier to remember
My friends also thanked me for my notes as it was sick and packed with jokes.
And they also got good grades.

Is there a note taking for Math?
All you gotta do for Math is practice, no notes, and if you need to remember a theory (e.g. pythagoras) you can just search it up to remember
yes it's something called practice 🙃
Math still has conceptual ideas as well. So you can totally use this for the big picture ideas and relationships. But yes you do need tons of practice too
How does this work for math/coding? These are not rote learning mostly, we need to solve problems.
Problem sets still have big picture concepts.
Notes would do great for these types
@@KoiAcademy Dont get you, for example take an algorithm coding question, we do 100s every month, what do you suggest we write?
Its all code, and similar algos nothing new. Could you share an example?
@@justlc7Bro same i asked
Here is his reply
"You take the main features od what I showed in the video and apply it to your notes. There are many topics and subjects out there, but the main outline would work with everyone."
We did a video on how to do notes on technical subjects called PSA (I'll link it here)
ruclips.net/video/uH2-I43kA7I/видео.htmlsi=ef5lv07R2Mu9xaWN
Basically, you try and understand the big picture of the math problem (whats it for) and then breaking it down piece by piece, explaining every step in English (ask a lot of what, how, when and why questions)
Then, use the PSA method to piece them back together.
Lol I used to take level 4 notes in highschool (and it might explain why I was good at school) but when I get into medicine school and I tried to apply my note taking system to subjects like anatomy it was such a mess. I didn't found the way to do that and i started loosing topics. It have been very difficult to me to keep the rythm of my career, but maybe it is also related to the pandemic (i started university just in 2020)
This video makes me want to make a concept map for jobs that I’m interested in and improve my learning capabilities. Amazing video!!
hey bro i am a Kuma i cant create a learning system because i don't know where to start, could you please explain me what i should focus on, I don't have a system right now for your information my study iq is an absolute horror
🤣🤣🤣
Very easy.
From any topic, for example a class or a talk, take (before the talk or class) the 5 fundamental ideas and answer why they are important and how they relate to each other?
Write this "structure" in the form of topics and subtopics. A kind of previous notes that have nothing more than a skeleton. During class, you write relevant information INSIDE your outline. At home you look for more examples and explanations.
The ideal is not to take notes in class.
Remember: The more you write, the less learning because you will be in the illusion of knowledge.
@@cidehamete As someone who likes to write their toughts and ideas I disagre with your last advice if is what I understand, if you are able to write with details with your own words about any topic that shows how much know about that and if you refer to copy and paste everything you see, even if you write it with Pen and Paper I agree, this last sucks, you always need to take Notes that you can understand later, but more important to understand relationships between your Ideas/Notes.

👍
I don't care about your absurd ideas contrary to science and current research.
Also if your ridiculous "system" doesn't even allow you to understand my simple message.
Who talked about "copy and paste"?Continue with your ridiculous "system" getting the same mediocre results.
I don't give a damn.
Good luck, bye.

Who said "copy and paste"?
Who talks about "literary production" here?
That is not the issue but note-taking.
It seems that your system does not help you understand.
I'm not interested.
Good luck friend and goodbye!
Is there a way to take notes like this using pen and paper, thanks
Oh, of course. She just takes a pencil and a paper.👍

@@cidehamete The illusion of knowledge… Now those are some words which made me think about the way I study . Thanks
Can u suggest making notes for law subjects where things are super detailed and complex? Everything line seems important and i usually end up writing down everything.
Bro how will i know what to write in Notes about a topic and what not to.
Can you make a video about how to study languages effectively, in my case English, since I am from Bolivia and I need to improve my English since my level is very basic?
I understood this entire question. Your level is more than basic based on the vocab used.
For languages, it depends on how you learn best - with audio tools, visual tools, etc.
My top tip is learn vocab, then listen to music or read a story, to see the vocab at work with grammar.
My primary language is English, but I'm a foreign language learner.
@@PaulasPicks I use a translator for to write the comment
@@PaulasPicks I can understand English but I don't hear it well or write it well because the grammar confuses me depending on the context.
@@mijaelmarcelovillarroelchu6513 Ah! Don't worry about the grammar to start. Focus on listening to the words and try to repeat what you hear. Use a word list or vocab list, then write the words you hear.
When we understand phrases, it is more about the context, or overall meaning of the phrases.
When I say "Ethel, the schoolteacher, has delicious black beans!", you don't need to understand the order of the words as you begin learning & practicing. You only need to focus on the overall meaning.
Then, after you are familiar with the words "schoolteacher", "has", "delicious", "black" and "beans", you can focus on the subject-verb-object structure, adjectives, etc.
Hope that helps!
And, remember to have fun learning & practicing English!
@@PaulasPicks ok thanks

I study biology. Any tips for notes taking, anyone?
Depends on your goals. It all boils down to understanding the key points and terms (in a visual way) but also connecting them with other concepts that you are learning (or have learned before)
@@KoiAcademy yes! Biology certainly has loads of terminologies, so the only way to keep them in mind is to re-read them again and again or write it somewhere. And for the other physiologies, like the human heart, I use visualisation and that helps a lot! I don't know how but I had developed a habit of using my hands and gestures while visualising, it gave me results I didn't expect. It multiplies your retaining capacity! I'm in awe of how complex yet simple we all are.
@geetikaaa_exists truly! That's why drawing and teaching with gestures helps a lot. You'll see the majority of your teachers do it as well.
my problem is retaining the info i learned. i need to review everything at least 15-20 times and afterwards fuckup on the exam.
Hey there, rookie!
Retaining information can be tough, but here's a tip: According to the forgetting curve, we forget a lot of what we learn after just 7 days. So, it's important to review actively every 7-8 days. Instead of cramming, use spaced repetition and active recall techniques. This way, you'll reinforce your memory over time and improve retention. Keep practicing, and you'll see better results!
Also probably look out for physical and mental factors that affect memory like sleep, hydration, nutrition, stress etc!

Nice thanks! Glad I stuck around after reform. -> The level 5 notes you present seem to suggest they should always be four field matrices or four step processess or so. But it doesnt feel like thats what youre suggesting right? Now, Im a firm believer that mind map nodes should have at max 4 branches when trying to teach or learn or remember, and four field matrices are amazing at showing very general ideas at very distilled level. But surely our notes (taken during learning period) cannot always consist of only those? Often even by nature of info on different fields. While I believe, it may often be the final product of finalized thought process.
Level 5 notes are not necessarily centered around 4 of anything. They are models or frameworks that can be used to help explain, hypothesis or teach across multiple disciplines.
I do like the 4 concept though. It forces us to think about chunking stuff
Doesn't make sense. Try this with computer networking. There's around 175-300 acronyms you have to know, each with deep digital infrastructure behind it. I've been a cybersecurity analyst for 3 years, so I'm at least intermediate in tech, but my notes are still level 2. No other way to learn the stuff, because each acronym has A LOT behind it. Connecting 175 patterns is not efficient.
It's impossible to mind map all of that in one picture. Maybe you can chop it up, but I dunno if it's useful in computer science. Only works with simple, high level stuff. Once you deep dive into details, this is useless except as, like, an opening overview page.

I'm sharing my thoughts for feedback
Nowadays, most males have feminine characteristics and the left has unhealthy masculinity.
But when you study both alive and dead underachievers, like:- (the following 3 are heroes of mine. I've described them from my perspective, so I'd recommend not to judge rather research)
- ELON MUSK, the smartest alive person.-
- NIKOLA TESLA, the greatest inventor of all time.
- NAVAL RAVICANT, the greatest alive philosopher for timeless wisdom.
Now I want to ask you a question. Do they have unhealthy masculinity or famine characteristics?
My introduction:
- ALAMIN AHMED
- A 15-year-old learner who is learning
Is this helpful or awful? If it is terrible please consider telling me why. In the end, I'm not perfect. For example, I couldn't talk to unknown people (social anxiety, introversion). But always remember, "You are born to be real, not perfect."
