City of Glass (AJ Lee)
I will go to the place
Made with sand a rugged piece
Tooth and nail
Molded pane
Made into the prettiest of sheet
Only grains built the city I stand
And rocks will tumble making more sand
This won’t be the last city of glass
It can tear up your eyes
Make your smile or turn back time
Revive the dead and last your life
If sand is memory what is time
A fiery ring surrounds me now
And the sand it will devour
Born again to flame
City stands tall once again
This is such a freaking banger. Thanks Spotify, for making me encounter you randomly!
What a fantastic song! Thank you A.J. Lee and Blue Summit. 🎼🤍
I just made one of those serendipitous stumbles today - what a great sounding band, and her voice is magic!
Pedal to the metal! Y'all keep cranking it out, one great one after another. Awesome!
Great song filled with the obvious joy in making it! 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶👏👏👏👏👏
Loving the this new record! I’m thinking Grammies!
Another gem 💎
Love this song (and the Dee's Lounge footage)
What a great tune and performance!
so nice
Miss AJ...you are sooo wonderful!!!!!
You were awesome at the Darrington Bluegrass Festival! Thanks for a memorable performance and day!
Interesting lyrics. Reminds me of "...Kings and kingdoms will all pass away.... but... "
Beautiful instrumentation, dear Summiteers. The quality of playing is unique to you all. Each artist in this group brings something awesome to the whole.
And then, of course, there is AJ's very unique voice = a terrific gift from God, . Thanks for posting.
what a pleasure!
Amazing 😍
Love the song and video! Y'all are sounding great!
Just what I needed, folks. Nice way to round out a long day with a little picking and grinning and grinning and picking. Great, when a sound comes together ❤️ just can't help but love and appreciate every little nuance that supports every other nuance.. sort of like picking and grinning.
Bluesfingers1 ("The Music of Everything ")
Great song! AJ is sounding great and looking pretty. The boys are killing it on the instruments. Nice job!
Another extraordinary performance/ video of these consummate musicians that have no rival out there in this genre of music IMHO. I think MT & The Golden Highway comes the closest, but A.J. Lee's songwriting / lyrics tap the emotions more deeply and the songs don't wander off into the arcane the way some of MT &TGH songs do.......and I won't mention anything about the adorableness factor which is off the charts 😀
I love MT & Golden Highway & agree that AJ Lee & Blue Summit are better - best bluegrass band out there. Love the pool room shots here.
Just saw you guys at The Grand Ole Opry! You did amazing... I'm a new fan!
I was there, too. Best performance of the entire Opry show on 7/16/2024.
Superstar
that was so good... i need to see my favorite current bluegrass crew again soon... tell Scott to let me know when he needs some more money at the merch table...
👍👍
Adorable and fun!
Most Excellent
Wonderful, love it
Sounding good!!

Greetings from New Zealand! This is one of your best, and a very cool video as well.

She’s so pretty, id take her to Olive Garden. 😁❤
what'd you leave the banjo out for?
There is no banjo player in this band.
just consider it your own personal backing track for you to ramble your banjo over
Where are you hiding the banjo player? Banjoists (including myself) are not bad people.
The Symphony Hall Birmingham u k 2010 the transatlantic sessions on tour Tim OBrien stepping up to the mic, Jerry Douglas comes on, you see Tim has a banjo, what is the similarity between a banjo and a scud missile--------- when you hear either it’s too late ☘️🇮🇪🇬🇧🏴🇺🇸
It could be just for the recording, there’s many different reasons for this. There’s lots of other artists that do this when they make videos. Most times you’ll use the touring band for the music vid as opposed to the session musicians (or a band member left) so the fans can gain familiarity with who they’ll actually see in concert.
I play the steel guitar but notice it is absent in some music videos for artists I like.
This is a great song btw. Saw these peeps at the Grand Ole Opry on July 16 and they absolutely killed it 💯
Love these guys. However, and this is just an old rock musician's opinion: the only misstep on the entire album is having a banjo on this track. Totally unnecessary. Every "live" version is better because of the absence of banjo. That minor point made, AJ & BS are one of the best groups out there. Top shelf musicianship from every member!
I didn't even know Peter Lorre played bluegrass guitar.
😂😂
O.k. I see what you did there lol...
Such a great song. Go AJ!
