Why was he just casually cruising from like 80 to 130?

The GPS speed tracker was having a slight delay. If the actual speedo on the car was visible, you could have seen the difference.

@@GasGuzzlerzno he was just off the gas. Listen to the engine rpm’s rev back up high when it started happening after he downshifted. He wasn’t fully on the gas

It sounded like it was half throttle from about 40 seconds until 1 minute and then you can hear the transmission downshift when he floors it. It probably would've gone over 190 with a full run.

He needs to run that again, he did 169+ in the standing mile and only picked up @14mph in 2.3 m, something was up with the shifting on the 2.3 m run.

Seems like there was a gearing issue half way through, and Johnny, this one could def go a bit faster with a longer stretch correct ? It looks like one those of trickle accelerating cars at the very top end.

I wonder why this run was chosen as the upload because it’s clearly not a full run when the car downshifts for more revs mid run.

@@C8Z51Scottthis is not a base model it's a pre-Z06 Z51. It has more downforce from a different splitter/higher rear wing, 5 more hp, & shorter gearing.
This oddly seems like a casual 1st test run, from the launch the shifting was done improperly to say the least. These cars easily clear 190 w/the higher Z51 rear wing.
Best place to see the impressive capability of the C8 bone stock on track is SpeedPhenom(many other models too). He's a great driver & wrung out both this model & his Z06 for many mths on multiple tracks with a great camera setup.
