My first international bike trip was GC back in 2019 and loved every pedal stroke. Loved it so much that in September of the same year I went with Thomson bicycle tours to mainland Spain to ride some of the Vuelta and watch some of the race. UNFORTUNATELY I crashed on wet RR tracks just 5k into the first day of riding and woke up in a hospital 30 mins away in Santander and stayed 5 days with 3 brain bleeds. The hard thing to get over, the ambulance guys cut off my Santini jersey.... Fulkerson. A few years and several surgeries and I'm getting back on the horse in Mallorca April 15...2023. But can it beat Gran Canaria ? Let's hope so. Btw, cool sleeves
Thanks so much Bob. This was one of the most enjoyable videos to make but one of my least watched this year. Really stoked you’ve got something out of it! 🙏🏼
That scenery is amazing. I can see where that would be challenging for you, cause you’re always used to doing the photography. I bet it all came off amazing. Cheers
Tristan - curious to know what brake pads you run on the bmc, considering you do a fair bit of climbing. I'm on organic resin sram ones, and they don't last me more than ~ 6 months and I don't even live in a mountainous area!
Not sure what pads Tristan uses (or myself to be fair), but I only seem to get about 2000-2500km out of pads on my SRAM Rival brakes. Used to get double that on Ultegra
I’m using the stock Shimano pads that came with my Dura-Ace 9200. I believe they’re the metallic ones. I’ve done 5300k’s on the bike and ~80,000m climbing and haven’t changed them yet, although I can feel the front are beginning to get a little thin. Having said this I’m 61.5kg and haven’t done a lot of steep descending where I’ve been braking super hard.
Yeah, I’m the same. It still blows my mind they’re allowed to do this and just assume it’s fine. It wasn’t just us either..there were 3 others who also weren’t allowed on. Wild.
Really beautiful work, mate. Super engaging and genuine - as always!! We're very proud partners :)
Thanks my dude. Stoked to work with you guys!
Easily some of the best camera and film work I've ever seen on RUclips for cycling. Amazing work everyone
Thanks mate..appreciate the love! 🙏🏼
thanks TRistan

Super video Tristan. Gran Canaria is proving to be very popular at the moment, not difficult to see why!.
Thanks mate! Yeah it’s quite impressive..I definitely need to go back and explore on the bike a little further.
My hometown is a fucking paradise! Epic spots and weather 24/7!
Thanks for sharing this one! Really interesting to see the BTS of a photo shoot and pics are golden, I'll keep that "harsh light" photos idea, merci!
Lovely and supernice video as always!!! Super job Tristan. thank you for this videos
Thanks a lot Marc!
As usual I have watched several times but the mood just rolls in your videos. Hard to explain but nice work.

Niiiiice work
🤜🏼🤛🏼
Wow, gorgeous. What kind of gradients there? Looks quite steep.
It varies but some climbs get super steep..12-15% in parts. But lots around 6-7% consistently which is super nice.
@@tristantakevideo Added to the bucket list….it’s getting long!
Mate you’ve got one tough gig
I agree. It’s brutal. But someone’s gotta do it.
Love the video! What helmet are you riding with?
Thanks man! It’s a Sweet Protection Outrider MIPS 👌🏼
Tristan , can you go to Madeira , 500 km north of Gran Canaria , its full of vegetation , compared to the canarias .

To this day I don’t understand flights being “overbooked”. If you have booked, you should have a seat with your name on it.

I came for Gran Canaria, I stayed for the bike.
Thanks man..love that thing! Got a full episode about it a few episodes back if you’re interested. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Did you like the local food 😋?
That looks absolutely terrible… I see I’m gonna have to add it to the list just to see for myself how horrible it is… 😏🍻
Hahahah I agree. It was below average and I’d not recommend it.
