What an amazing story... we should be proud of our Canada games.... the inukshuk, the medals, the motto....everything have a beautiful story behind it.... Canada is a powerful place ... and I Hope everybody will see as much I see in those medal and in this amazing country I live in from coast to coast, from the english side and the french side I live in.
Wow those are amazing metals, truly successful and imaginative design. I love it. I think i finally realize the importance and potential of our Vancouver olympic games.
@anikinippon: the more traditional medals can be found at the summer olympics. the winter olympic medals gives room for creativity. in 1992 they have glass, franite in 1994, lacquer and color in 1998, the difference shapes resembling like a rock in 2002, the 2006 medal is supposed to be an ancient coin while they went for the undulating surfaces for the 2010 medals. winter olympics gives unique chances for artistry.
woot woot go canada dude if u like or shud i say LOVE the medals then giv me thumbs up becuz they are just beautiful and the mean alot to all the firstnations ppl out there... i hope that vancouver doesnt go into emergency mode when around 1million ppl are on the skytrain per day during the 2010 olympics. but anyways all i really wanted to say was that i think the medals are spectacular works of art and hope all the gold medals go to canada
@CanadaguyRudey I don't agree with the ugly comment but I agree that it's supposed to be about athleticism and Greece, not a grievance for native peoples. A unique design doesn't mean "fuck it, lets do whatever we want".
@ythb123 I'm not talking about the metal in the medals themselves, they can have a Palladium medal for all I care. The design on the medal are supposed to convey athletic virtues, a sense of classic Greece or an ode to Athens, or something. Tell you what, on the 2012 Olympic medals do you think it would be proper to put a basket of fish and chips on the medal because it's held in London?
@NORTHinuit They have nothing to do with the Olympics, they could have got a medal design better out of a 6 year old. You don't see a Samurai or some crazy shinto spirit on a Tokyo Olympic medals for a reason. It's like putting a McDonald's cheeze burger on a science award, it doesn't speak for itself, it has to be explained, that's why the artists failed with a passion.

I think this year the Sedins will look better in silver or bronze
I got to hold one of the 2010 gold medals today =D

tell that rachel marsden who's been whining about too much first nation influence over Vancouver 2010.
They need to make an unoptaimium medal.
Sorry Sedins! Love you guys, but you can't go near those gold medals.
Silver will look better on you anyway.
This video is terribly cheesy.
