free snack box? nice! I actually have a similar experience - booked a YVR-PVR round trip a few years ago and ordered a salad for an onboard meal for the flight to Mexico because it was an early flight and nothing was open in an airport yet, but they also gave me the same salad shortly before landing back in Vancouver for free! generally a pretty good airline for what it's worth!
I’m booked on Westjet YVR/YOW round-trip for July. It’s a 737-600; hope they offer Westjet Connect on that flight. I’ve put the app on my phone in anticipation.
Yey another great video & trip report. Top marks for marrying your fantastic, scenic aerial shots with chill, relaxing music. Much more enjoyable than the uptempo music many You Tubers put in their clips. Looking forward to seeing what you bring us with your next journey.
In Canada, we don't have Visa debit. For debit purchases we have a separate network called Interac which is specific to Canadian financial institutions and on its own network. Standard credit cards will work fine anywhere though.
You should try YZR-YYZ route with Air Canada Express on the Dash-8 300. YZR is a weird little airport that I work at, and you should try it while the route still exists.

A bit better than a bargain airline, though the ticket wasn't cheap. If they are moving toward a full-service line they may need to strengthen their food offerings for a 5-hour flight. Perhaps your generation is content with viewing a show or movie on your phone, I'd much prefer a larger screen.
this Q re-view is sponsored by seat 12A. be sure to hit the like and sub buttons!! this flight included tomato juice and a double helping of Biscoff so it had to be good. throw in a stunning, and I mean stunning sunset and it adds up to a well-done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra. thanks for sharing!!
There are many ways to handle that other than paging everyone who used OLCI. They should be checking passports (or at least the presence of one) when they scan BP, even if biometric boarding is used. Since the manifest with passport numbers is sent to TSA and CBP for approval before departure, i'm shocked that they couldn't verify this like Ryanair does with EU passports and mobile BPs. Even if it just beeped for verification when BP is scanned at gate...
i know in toronto going thru customs is very easy due to the kiosks to scan passports and questions asked to you on the kiosks rather than doing it through customs and border patrol personnel
CBP has those same APC kiosks are every major US international airport, and many smaller ones. In some, you can even do it all on your phone without the kiosk. Only difference is that flights from Canada go through CBP before departure, and land as a domestic flight.
@@michaelsharp3615 Just watched his video you refer to, or at least the one where he arrives at Vancouver (stunning airport btw!). Those kiosks are pretty similar to the ones CBP uses. Basically when you insert your passport, it takes a picture of the front, scans the MRZ barcode, and then uses that data to decrypt an NFC chip stored in the cover. From there your photo and fingerprints (sometimes, depends on issuing country) are digitally downloaded of the passport. The chip is encrypted and locked by the issuing country, and as such attempting to modify the data stored will corrupt the entire passport and flag it as fraudulent. From there, it uploads your bio-data into the system, and checks your entry/exit history, trusted traveler status, terrorist watchlists, and the Interpol alert system. Then a photo is taken and fingerprints are captured if you are a visitor or trusted traveler. These are checked and biometrically compared against the digital copies in your passport, visa records, and/or previous CBP/CBSA interactions (biometric exit, prior ESTA, B1/B2 visas, etc). Then it asks you declaration questions for customs, and prints out the receipt with your photo and wether you were flagged for additional screening. Then for additional security, non-trusted travelers have their passport visually inspected by an officer. This saves a lot of time because there is no need for the officers to stall and ask questions while these processes happen in the background. As such, there is a lot of time saved for travelers.
@@michaelsharp3615 If you want to try it yourself at home, download the ReadID app. It will scan, read, and verify your passport just like the kiosk does and is totally free. Also, you can save the digital version of your photo, in case you ever felt a burning desire to have it.
@@john40539 ok wish the process was quicker everywhere through customs because people have very tight connections and miss their flight because of customs taking forever
I ❤️ Traveling with Westjet 🇨🇦.
Love your work Quintin. Am hearing lots of good things about Westjet. That was a nice gesture to give you the snack box free.
Love watching your vlogs! Lots of ambience! Kudos! ✈️💺👏
Biscoff should be your sponsor! 😂
My favorite airline in Canada 🇨🇦 Westjet the best airline in North America.
Always a pleasure to see “QFS Uploaded” in my feed. Nice video man.

as ever great report and some lovely shots of outside.
Landed on runway 35R. Opened in 2014,, the 14,000 ft. 17L/35R is the longest runway in Canada. The parallel 17R/35L is now 2nd longest at 12,675 ft.
I flew that same aircraft back in December 2014 when it had the Live TVs

Do they stamp a US passport now or just look at it?

Thanks for another amazing video great job
Awesome vid!
Westjet is amazing to fly with considering they're a North American airline. I fly out of Calgary strictly with them for domestic.

the nice trip and the great video Mr. QFS Aviation,. tks from miftahjaya96 chanel, Indonesia.
hi qman. nice report and the views were awesome. looked like a fun experience, thanks for taking us along. fly safe my friend.
Great video! But I miss when you record the entire takeoff roll and landing (starting of the roar of the engines)
Please do trip on the westjet 787
Whoohoo for Caribbean Airlines @~0:37 🇹🇹🇹🇹👏🏽👏🏽
Ahh there is Caribbean Airlines ❤
Do a trip report on Caribbean Airlines
Nice video !
Air Canada had E190 service to Calgary before they left JFK. Guess there's a demand out of JFK for Calgary.
Try Japan Airlines and ANA Business Class
Wish American Airlines had gluten free options
When he’s never in school :(
Or you can travel on JetBlue airlines.
Why do they frequently check your passport before boarding buddy?
Because I do online check-in! They need to verify that it’s my passport
