About Evan:
Evan Bartels comes from a town of 100 people called Tobias. Found on a lone stretch of highway that cuts across the Nebraskan prairie, it’s a place that offers immeasurable freedom, while threatening a life of unanswered wanting. It was here the sentiment behind his work was forged.
Storytelling has always been a fixture in his writing, and Bartels continues to evolve his narratives by digging deeper beneath the surface and clinging to an authentic message. He captures a moment and fleshes it out to its barest, rawest form, thereby creating a piece of art that-regardless of genre or setting-moves the listener. Bartels’s most current work embodies this action and directly reflects his mission to convey truthful narratives.
During a time when we’re all looking for something to believe in, Bartels is preaching a much-needed gospel: live a life that doesn’t shy away from difficulty, but rather uses every aspect of the journey, its joys, and sorrows, to grow into the best version of ourselves.

I have lost all that a man could ask for. I have work hard and earned everything a man can obtain. My son is in the ground, my wife of 25 years is no longer, my home, my family and my self worth have all left my sight. And I can close my eyes and see each and every little piece of my life , heart and soul walk away slowly but surely. So I listen to this song every day. Somedays it's only once or twice. Today it's more like 15 or 20 times.
So I thank you with every piece of my broken heart.
My Heart is Heavy with Heartache in my Soul, I know God is All around Me but everyday being alone seems to Swallow me whole & All I long for is to be loved and I want to love you in the same Way .
This hits all to close to home, together 8 years, three kids later a beautiful home. I made a career change that has rocked my family in a way I couldn’t fathom. Unfortunately I have been lost, unwilling to carry on but this song has helped me in a way forward.

My wife left me 6.5 years ago. I missed out on a lot of my kids childhood becauseof how the court system works. I can't sympathize about losing a child because I just couldn't comprehend that loss. I'm sorry, man. But I feel the silent pain that men have to carry. I pray you're doing well today. I'll be praying for you tonight, Jason.

Threw my depression and Cancer came the loss of my Daddy, suicide was weighing strong .. almost over powering! This song your music lyrics voice basically saved my life took that strength suicide that was overpower me and then it turned it into a piece of gravel I want to thank you for that God bless you and yours
