Yes, but you never want to use a cable that is still on a spool. Heat builds up and your cable can melt, get damaged or even catch Fire. Even for events when you want to do live feed.
That Radeon Embedded 9550 is the Embedded version of RX480/580. It has got 36 Compute Units (same as RX480/580), core clock at 1150MHz for total 5.3TFlops of compute power however the memory is clocked just at 5GHz effective meaning bandwidth is down to 160GB/s rather than 224/256GB of the RX counterpart. It also runs at less than 95w TDP compared to 150/180 of RX.

This _advoli TA6 Performance_ card was apparently designed to support any embedded AMD Type B MXM module (although only three embedded options are currently available).

Everybody gangsta till Linus the Canadian says “How the bloody hell”
As an ex-Roadie, it seems pretty familiar. Many "Video-artists/techs" as well as light&sound use ethernet data protocols (and other cable types, depends on the system).
So, it seemed a bit obvious i guess and funny/interesting how its not a very known signal flow outside the Stage Tech field. Although im sure its not the only field that uses it regularily.
My favorite part of this is that you absolutely did not need to unravel that spool because the signal still had to travel the entire length even if the monitor was in the same room 😂

Yea, stuff like this is used a lot in my field for event video for corporate stuff, or some of the weirder arena/concert setups.
Way late to the party, but this actually seems the most useful for what we do for live performances, sending HDBaseT signals to distant displays and projectors. Pretty rad for a card and so saves on a bunch of adapters and misc cabling.

It's not over Ethernet. It's over 4 Twisted Pairs also known as a 4 pair CAT5 Cable, in this instance, he is using CAT7 which has tighter tolerances allowing faster speeds.
HDBaseT isn't based upon the Ethernet subframes and IP layers.
Only the physical connection is similar, just reusing the spec.
@@RyanF470 Is this sort of a misnomer, ie. "Power over Ethernet"? The electrical approach is ofc a bit different as you're running (now adays) power and signal across the same leads, but still. Not much IP layer involvement there ^^,

I had to deal with KVMs that worked similarly. Only they sucked so bad, the company had to send a couple of their techs to help troubleshoot. Their own techs were having issues as well trying to fix the problems. The monitors would turn off and not come back up without a series of reboots of both boxes on both sides of the KVM and the PC. Can't remember what the fix was, but wish it would have worked as well as these cards.

I've used this sort of cabling at job sites. Funny thing is you actually need extra support and strain relief for all those heavy connectors (see how they sag in the vid?) - especially if you have a rack mount with many of these cards - even if you don't need any extra support for the wimpy little single-slot half-size GPU cards they stick into.
Linus could've just plugged into whatever spare ethernet cable runs he might already have installed in his building. But if he did that then the video wouldn't be ten minutes long.

This basically very useful if you are running very long cable runs. Or using a HDBST system. Very useful for smart homes. Its a lot more reliable to run a cat 6 and then using HDMI extenders, rather then a long HDMI. What you have there is the next step up, the video card is pretty much a long HDMI extender with the transmitter built in the card and the receiver on the other end. Also I did 400 ft for a house at 4k resolutions using a 4k HDBST video matrix and no worries the tech is that good.
