I'm born and raised in Wilmington. I'm proud of our history. My town has very important history, Wilmington had a large roll in the civil war. And the world wars as the largest naval ship producers. Not to mention what's know as USC University was here in Wilmington before they expanded to present day site and named it University of Southern California.
Born and raised there. Banning High School. Also Phineas Banning founded the city of Banning near Palm Springs ca. He drove camels across the United States to Wilmington. The Drum Barricks are around the corner.
That lil brick shack is a historic monument, Banning Blvd is the street I lived in after I moved there from Mst and Sanford. That shack was used in the war obviously...At Banning Park at the Banning Residence there's a tunnel used in civil war. I love Wilmas...thank God for Phineas Banning for his efforts. I'm also a Broad ave Elementary School graduate, Wilmington Jr Hs graduate now known as the Wilmington Jaguars and of course a Banning High school Pilot...once a Pilot always a Pilot is our modo....GO PILOTS...GO WILMINGTON!!!
The Powder Room brick building is one of the three historic buildings in Wilmington, Ca. There is the Drum Barracks museum like you mentioned and also the Phineas Banning Museum.
Living in Wilmington all on my life I've seen the same building never knew the story about it thank you for the history lesson appreciate that a lot I'm show this to my niece
It’s amazing comparing our old buildings to those of Europe that are Thousands of years old and in remarkable shape. I was amazed on our trip to Italy years ago. We don’t know what old really is lol. Always enjoy your videos.
Hello Officer Rob. Hope you knee is getting better today I was watching the Boston marathon 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️. Thanks for the history lesson ! Be safe I trying to be a good human ! ❤️
Excellent and informative Rob! Our area still has many surprises to be discovered and this is one of those gems of history. Lived in that area as a child, right across the street from Banning High School.
Love these videos. Being from Canada and only having visited Los Angeles a few times, I often take a Google maps tour of the locations Rob hits to explore a little more... so much fun.
🇺🇸Very cool Officer Rob.! Amazing that it's not been torn down of course some assholes had to spray paint on a historic monument! They should electrify that fence to keep people from doing dumb shit. Thanks for the history lesson!!! 🇺🇸
It took this long for your videos to be suggested to me??? I subed like a year ago..... RUclips better get it together. Keep making the vids. Love the history.
I used to walk pass this structure on my way to visit my cousins house on ESW. Hyatt st then it was covered in wood i knew it was part of old fort drum lot of stories about fort drum civil war era
Just seeing graffiti like that just pisses me off. The white sign on the fence. No f*#king respect. Thanks for the history lesson. Great video, can't wait to see more. Two thumbs up.
I've been inside there I used to live on broad and opp and as a kid we always rode our scooters to that place back then the fence was cut with bolt cutters
Heh, just as you were starting to talk about the Powder Mag, I Googled it, and I got this strange feeling as if what you were saying was jumping right off the page, oh, wait, they were, you were reading from the wiki, btw, there's a FB page for it also, just the same thing that you read, nothing else unfortunately. You can do these side detours any time you feel the urge - love this kind of shit.
When you finish the motovlog review the footage and see the camera is not sitting right. then you just post it as you know your loyal subscribers will watch it 😉.
Officer Rob, Please contact tthe City of Wilmington and ask them to install some razor wire and some cameras to keep the Pandiyreos out. It looks to me the grafitti is getting out of hand. They will ruin ANYTHING. they have no respect for Anything or Anyone for that matter, and being a Port City, Street gangs are plentiful in this area. Watch your 6 as you work here. Wanna catch them? The Vandels ? Right after you install it all at once, See who gets the maddest and yells the loudest. Put cameras in good places and watch who tries to tear them down right after it all gets installed.
