@Truth boy No worries. Thank you.
Between this song being about a Hemingway story, “One” being about a Dalton Trumbo book, and “Creeping Death” being from the book of Exodus, these guys were pretty well read for a bunch of, at the time, 22-year old alcoholic delinquents.
Iron Maiden are very similar. Most of their songs are about historical events, or are based on novels.
It's probably the reason for the rivalry between them.
Yeah well that and the fact that cliffy who wrote it had two phds one in english literature the other in philosophy. So drunk he may of been but he was an intelligent drunk
Sabaton has a similar style. Their songs are about historical events like WW1.
@@RK-zf1jm 2 PhD's?? bullshit. a phD takes an average student just under 8 and a half years to get not including the 4 year bachelor degree they have to get first, and that would make them student is 33 years old AT LEAST. 2 of them would be even longer, and he was 24 when he died so even ONE phD wouldn't have been possible.
@@Jar0fMay0 i love sabaton!!!! Whats your favourite sabaton song so far??
yall dont even know, that bass is beyond good. RIP Cliff
Hm....i think was not Cliff.....
Watching the head banging is unreal... It don't matter what you like, you can't not move that head to this jam! 🤘
head banging is a MUST for Whom The Bell Tolls
I've been watching SO many videos of black people reacting to metal and rock music lately, and I love it! They get the heads banging and everything. Variety is the spice of life, listen to everything! Don't limit yourself to one genre 🤘😆🤘
Absolutely...!
Something that makes people be in awe of the musicianship of Metallica is watching them with the San Francisco Symphony on the S & M videos.
Those opening riffs are pretty much all Cliff Burton tearing up the bass. Great reaction!
This is an adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's "For Whom The Bell Tolls", about a group of partisan fighters on a fool's errand during the Spanish Civil War, just before WWII kicked off.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_Whom_the_Bell_Tolls
@TheGodEmperorofMankind But its a great song
One of my favorite Hemingway' quotes is "Tell him to go fuck himself". Lol
If you want to truly see the energy they put out do
Enter Sandman or Creeping Death by Metallica, Moscow 1991
Specifically Creeping Death....as far as energy goes
The song is based on Hemmingway's novel of the same name about the Spanish Civil War in late 1930's.
That badassed riff at 3:25, the guitar player wrote it at 14 years old....just sick.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You two had me banging my head! I haven't banged my head in 30 years! lol
This little girl doing the intro is f$cking amazing :)
My brother and sister if you really want to hear the full intense sound of Metallica watch them live in concert it’s sick how these dudes kill it on stage. There are so many haters out there that say Metallica is garbage! I beg to differ that these dude’s are still killing it to this day to sold out stadiums and they have been killing it for almost 40 YEARS!! What stands out is the musicianship and vocals by James which he actually can sing some of these other metal groups can’t they scream or there playing covers for there singing!
I love this song no matter how many times I hear it!
Head bangin on-point!
head banging is a MUST for Whom The Bell Tolls and they got it off the bat
My nephew's were both navy seebees and invaded iraq.... They listened to this on there ride into baghdad. It was wrote about vietnam but when ur bell tolls time marches on as it did for many warriors. Peace out🍺
Love your guy's reaction to Metallica you gotta do damage Inc and welcome home sanatorium
When they sang about the hill i think they were talking about the trenches in flanders, france. "climbing up the ladders and going over the hill".
I was reading the book by the same title, and at the top of every page was written "For Whom The Bell Tolls". Throughout the book, all I heard in my head, over and over, was this song. Every. Single. Page. This is what happens when you discover Metallica before Hemingway.
My favorite couple. Lucky man sir she is BEAUTIFUL
This song was in a movie. They used it for the intro to Zombieland. Great movie.
Fun fact - this song was the intro to the movie Zombieland. Also, love seeing the AC/DC hat as the intro with bells is always initial hard to distinguish between this song and Hells Bells by AC/DC
The song is based on Earnest Hemmingway's book For Whom the Bell Tolls. I haven't read the book but the song's message is about the futility of war. The war it is talking about is the Spanish Civil war.
This song does play during the opening credits of Zombieland
Definitely watch a live video at one of their concerts. I’ve been fortunate to see them live amazing!! Keep em coming love you guys ❤️❤️
I love watching reaction vids because it reminds me of how I felt the first time I heard those songs.. and it's bringing different cultures together.. it's beautiful
About a fireteam taking an enemy position, because they were ordered too, unaware of reasons why. Giving respect to those who give their all following orders, but also trying to give warning that those that give orders don't always have those under them in mind when barking said orders.
just subscribed half and jai and i love all of your reactions. and yes, i did take advantage of the coupon code for the coldest water bottles and got 2 of them! thanks!
Thank you 🙏🏾 we TRULY appreciate you @DarthNickula
I’m from the Bronx nyc and this was my first metal song I heard and was called Oreo every sense. Ps from the pjs
Great reaction as always. They are a great band and most of their songs have great meanings
love watching yall
Hero of the day !!! Good song
Welcome to the headbangers club keep banging them heads love it
Best line: Take a look to the sky just before you die
It is the last time you will
head banging is a MUST for this song and i LOVE how yall understood that off the bat xD
But you have got to reaction to Metallica's for whom the bell tolls live version at San Diego 1989. It's even greater!
There's nothing I'm going to say that matters but y'all matter to me PLEASE dont change
This song is about the movie For whom the bell tools think it was a book to and yes it is about war,
if i remember right it is about the fight for Hamburger Hill might be wrong on that
For whom the bells toll was a book written ernest hemingway about ww1.
Hemingway was a soldier.
Gotta do Metallica live bro. Thats where you see the energy of this Band.
I first heard this song in 1985 ! I’m old🤘🏼
Timeless
More Metallica reactions please. You guys do a great job
You guys are on point.
i love the music but i love all music stay true to your self alxo thanks for the song
Definately need to play Metallica's song "Creeping Death" live show in Russia '91. 1.6 million people at the show.
Key terrain battle wasn’t synonymous with Vietnam....though there were many battles, other than Hamburger Hill, with the goal of pushing the enemy off of high ground. Hamburger Hill was one of the more publicized battles. Who knows for sure what the reference was??
YESSSSS. Metallica is where it's att.
3:46 it actually was in a crazy ass movie which was Zombieland
Now it's time for Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest.
Check out Fishbone, Sevendust, 24-7 Spyz, Skindred, and Body Count too.
And you must hear this song live with s&m orchestra
You two should watch Metallica performing this song at Day On The Green 1985 featuring Cliffs killer bass intro.
Cliff them all! 🤙
Please do a reaction for "Nothing else matters" by Metallica.....going to be a different take, and something special
Teespring.com/good-vibes-baby-good-vibes
You really should check out "Sanitarium" and "Disposable Heroes" by Metallica. Both are epic!
Lol this was the opening song on the movie Zombieland.
Speaking of sounding like it could be in a movie. This is the intro song for the movie "Zombieland" when the zombies are attacking.
Greats from Mexico.
Next metallica disposable heroes, or and justice for all. The live seattle 1989 version of and justice for all is epic. You should check it out if you want to experience a live metallica performance. Also creeping death live in Moscow 1991, but all the reaction channels do that one.
Awesome reaction, keep them Metallica reactions
AFI Silver and Cold is a fav of mine. You should hear them.
you need to hear creeping death at moscow 1991 and prepare to be blown away!!!!!
In Vietnam and Korea, they took ground hill by hill, bridge by bridge, village by village...
Love the AC/DC hat !! \m/
You must listen to Hero of the Day. Excellent song.
This song was a great beginning to the movie Zombieland. This was one of my favorite pre-game hype songs. Made me want to get on the field and just crush somebody.
I see yall like Metallica, they are an awesome band, been following them since the 80's. Check out their newer song called "Halo on Fire". You really have to listen well, they change it up in the song several times. Awesome song, all their old stuff is great. One is my favorite though.
Need to get on that pantera: respect
If you want to hear a awesome band from my home country (germany), listen to Blind Guardian. The Bard Song is one of their greatest songs
Love that intro 👍🏼
🤘🤘✊
Fade to black
Good morning y'all...
Another great reaction guys can't wait for you guys to get into some Iron maiden live anything live you won't be disappointed, believe me, greatest singer greatest bass player in the game🤘🤘🎸🎸
Until it sleeps great song
Y'all be good to one another
I lost my shit when I heard this on Zombieland.
Disposable Hero's is 🔥 by Metallica
Iron "fucking" Maiden!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
I swear to god I don't understand some metal fans requests, I mean you clearly see 2 who are new to this genre and you gave them instrumental songs, what a bad introduce to the band...
Even if it's your favorite song don't be selfish, my fav song is The Four Horsemen but I'm not sure if they'll enjoy the riffs and solos in it.
Fade to Black? Yes it's a good request and they enjoyed it
Master of Puppets? Yes it's a good request
One? Ofc
But For Whom the Bell Tolls???
For Whom is a great song for me and one of the greatest Metallica songs.
But this song needs an ear first, you can't tell them please react to Metallica - Orion it's a great 8 minutes instrumental song and expect them to enjoy it.
Give them time then give them songs like For Whom, Orion and Disposable heroes etc..
Now they need to react to the Metallica bangers
BATTERY - CREEPING DEATH - LEPER MESSIAH - ENTER SANDMAN - RTL - WELCOME HOME
then slowly to Orion + The Call Of Ktulu etc..
I see this so much on reaction videos, where people just introduce the channel to the completely wrong song. Some groups you have to start at a certain point and work your way into the great stuff.
Silver Bells Narishma I know right? Some of them are just requesting their favorite songs and that’s selfish.
Need to listen them live in Moscow
Best metal band of all time🤘
Metallica forever!!
Honestly before you ever heard Metallica or Heavy Metal in general....did you expect this?
Later on You guys should react to Spit Out the Bone by Metallica, in their mid late 50s jamming to the song!
Awesome reaction.. Metallica as usual.. great songs.. this song is short and to the point.
You need to start reacting to some LED ZEPPELIN...
Star with DAZED AND CONFUSED off their first album in 1969..!! It will blow your mind..!!
The battle of Bunker Hill .
You guys should run some Falling in Reverse. Start with Popular Monster.
Ever seen Zombieland? Also, taking a hill is a very common theme with foot soldiers.
I like her hat.
Coldest needs to provide y'all some headphones!
😂😂😂
2:27
I want half a Jay.
This song was played during the Intro of Zombieland
It's like most Metallica, it's been around 20, 30, almost 40 years.... you've heard it somewhere, just never placed it.
It really doesn't matter what war honestly. "It does what it's told" get up that hill right god damn now.
Love you guys. Please react to Five Finger Death Punch’s “Wrong Side of Heaven”...
Funny you said this song could be in a movie about turning up at a party or something. It was in a movie and the turn up was real, but not the type of turn up you think lol....
Have you seen Zombieland???
No I haven’t lol
Wasn't this song in the intro to that movie lmao.
Its been a long time, but I remember how epic that shit was lol
Yes it was this song the clip is on RUclips.
Decades ago when I heard this song I thought about the movie 🍔 hamburger hill
creeping death
